Constitutional crisis looming over Obama's birth location

The California secretary of state should refuse to allow the state's 55 Electoral College votes to be cast in the 2008 presidential election until President-elect Barack Obama verifies his eligibility to hold the office, alleges a California court petition filed on behalf of former presidential candidate Alan Keyes and others.

The legal action today is just the latest is a series of challenges, some of which have gone as high as the U.S. Supreme Court, over the issue of Obama's status as a "natural-born citizen," a requirement set by the U.S. Constitution.

WND senior reporter Jerome Corsi even traveled to Kenya and Hawaii prior to the election to investigate issues surrounding Obama's birth. But his research and discoveries only raised more questions.

The biggest question is why Obama, if a Hawaii birth certificate exists, simply hasn't ordered it made available to settle the rumors.

Let me focus on Leo Donofrio’s lawsuit which I covered in Part II of my last column. Leo is asking you to please write a short letter to Justice Clarence Thomas now that his case is docketed.

You need only ask Justice Thomas to hear Leo’s case on an expedited basis because Obama’s refusal to prove he’s a natural born citizen is building into a constitutional crisis that cannot be allowed to progress to the swearing in process should the electoral college actually go ahead and vote him in on December 15, 2008. May I take this opportunity to inject the slightest bit of irreverence into this serious business of upholding the Constitution. 1851 posts without relief is a long stretch. Before one takes umbrage, know that I have read every single post, many, more than once, and have made my share of posts here, good and bad, as well.

In most states it is illegal to release the original vault form, but they will provide certified copies of the original vault form. A certified copy of the original vault form is what genealogists use becase it does provide more information than the short form certificate.

If Obama was adopted at any time in his life by Soretero, his grandparents, etc. in Hawaii, then the short form could have been changed to to reflect the place of birth as the location of the adoption, but the original vault copy might show the birth in another location or another country.

This change is commonly done to allow foreign children adopted by U.S. citizens to obtain citizenship without having to apply for naturalization. They are, however, not considered to be natural born citizens.

Genealogists want a certified copy of the original vault certificate, because they are tracing ancestrial blood lines and if someone was adopted a short form would not provide sufficient information if a person had been adopted. I find it hard to beleive that Hawaii would have a law that they could not release a certified copy of the original vault copy.

Without seeing a certified copy of the original vault copy, we do not know for certain that Obama was even born in Hawaii. It is my understanding that Hawaii issued certifications of birth to individuals that were not born in Hawaii. I haven’t heard yet how the birth would be listed if someone had been born outside of Hawaii.

I hope this helps to explain why a certified copy of the vault copy would be needed to prove that Obama was born in Hawaii, and determine if he is a natural born citizen.

For the last time, did you read the statement of Hawaii Department of Health Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino, 10/31/08?

That’s it and that’s all — that’s as far as the Hawaii DOH can legally go, no matter how many “news reports” try to spin, interpret and add to it — and no matter how annoyed Dr. Fukino reportedly is that the DOH is beseiged with irate US citizens wanting to know the details on such an inconsequential matter (apparently to her) as the Constitutional eligibility of the President-elect. All of your comments beyond the point of the official statement are simply opinion, not fact.

You keep trying to deflect from your assertion, posted repeatedly on this thread in one form or another, that “Hawaii state health department officials have verified the legitimacy of Obama’s Certificate of Live Birth.”

They haven’t.

Well, we’ll all soon know exactly what the courts have to say, both the Hawaii district court as of tomorrow and Supreme Court Justice Souter, sometime after December 1st and then the California Supreme Court on the issue involving the Electors.
