Ejected at ’04 Convention, a Protester Gets $55,000

By COLIN MOYNIHAN
Published: November 15, 2008

During President Bush’s acceptance speech in Madison Square Garden at the 2004 Republican National Convention, a San Francisco woman briefly interrupted the proceedings by standing on a chair and unfurling a banner that accused the president of lying.

That protest set into motion a chain of events that has ended in one of the more unusual legal resolutions connected to the four days of the convention, during which more than 1,800 demonstrators and bystanders were arrested, most of them in street protests. Hundreds of them subsequently sued the city, saying they had been arrested unlawfully or detained in holding cells without access to lawyers.

As of September, the city had paid about $1.5 million to settle 142 lawsuits arising out of the convention. The payout total rose by $55,000 on Friday, when the San Francisco woman, June Brashares, 44, an events planner, peace advocate and a member of the protest group Code Pink, reached a settlement in a lawsuit in which she said she had been injured while being ejected from the Garden

This is the core group that people like Barbara Hatch Rosenberg sought to protect from being investigated for involvement in the anthrax attack.

There's yet another gorup, little more violent, little more stupid, organized as a YPSL (Young Peoples Socialist League) cell that ended up working at the New York Bulk and Foreign Facility (USPS). They went on strike. Got fired. Some members then tried to murder Postmaster General Bill Bolger.

These pukes went so far as to get one of their cronies over at the CIA transferred to the FBI to head up the investigation in November 2001.

All the top Leftwingtards know how violent their friends are. I predict that now that they've put Obama at the top of the heap they're going to start killing each other, and probably him, in their scramble for a Socialist takeover.

Another codestinker; same crap different day:

One of Barack Obama's elite fundraisers from the anti-American group Code Pink attempted to storm the stage last night during Republican vice presidential nominee Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's acceptance speech at the GOP convention in St. Paul.
Jodie Evans, one of a group of about 500 top financiers who have bundled tens of thousands of dollars for the Obama campaign was seized by the Secret Service after she had made her way to side of the stage and and started to yell at Palin.
The Washington Post reported on the incident:

10:45 p.m. A pair of Code Pink activists just got to the very edge of the stage and were a moment away from apparently running on stage, right by the Kentucky slot on the floor next to a host of McCain's most senior staffers. Secret Service men grabbed them at last minute and literally dragged them out.
--Paul Kane
Evans has bundled between $50,000 and $100,000 for Obama as well as contributing the maximum $2300 to Obama's presidential primary campaign. She co-hosted Obama's breakout Hollywood fundraiser at the start of his campaign in February 2007.... --------- "TOP OBAMA CAMPAIGN FINANCIER ATTEMPTED TO STORM STAGE DURING SARAH PALIN SPEECH," Thursday, September 4, 2008 | Kristinn , Posted on Thursday, September 04, 2008 12:46:21 AM by kristinn

Thanks for reminding me of that

It's easily forgotten ~ most folks didn't know about it, and not much news was released on the matter.

That's when ARMED GUARDS were installed at all entrances of the USPS headquarters building at L'Enfant Plaza.

During the period of tension we had several bombs delivered to the building.

These people are still dangerous.

The Chief Postal Inspector, Alexander Lazaroff, who was on the job from some time in 2002, went along with the FBI in flubbing the investigation into the Anthrax attack.

* CODEPINK co-founder Medea Benjamin :

In 2000, Medea Benjamin ran for U.S. Senate in California on the Green Party ticket and Marla [Ruzika] became her fundraiser. For the campaign, Benjamin produced the booklet I, Senator, her delusion of grandeur fantasizing the day she and other Green legislators would establish a socialist state following a series of grave national emergencies.
In November 2000, Benjamin, Marla [Ruzika] and a third Green Party activist were arrested when they tried to crash a Democratic Party campaign event and force Senator Dianne Feinstein into a public debate.
Weeks later, Marla [Ruzika] was in Florida as a Green Party accredited election observer, where she lamented the dearth of street protesters supporting Al Gore and told the World Socialist Website that Republicans “should be on the terrorist lists.”

1974 to 1994 + : (IPS WORKS WITH COMMUNIST FRONT ORGANIZATIONS TO BUILD NETWORK TO NEUTRALIZE US INTELLIGENCE - See CNSS, ACLU, NLG, IADL, CPUSA, PLO, IRA) During the past twenty years, the IPS has worked with Communist front organizations in building a network for the neutralization of US intelligence. In 1974, the Fund for Peace established the Center for National Security Studies (CNSS), which has worked closely with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in pursuing political and legal challenges against US intelligence. Staff and leadership for the CNSS have been drawn almost entirely from the IPS and the National Lawyers Guild (NLG); the NLG is the American branch of the Soviet-controlled International Association of Democratic Lawyers (IADL), operates as a front of the Communist Party, USA, and publicly supports dozens of terrorist groups ranging from the PLO to the Irish Republican Army (IRA). IPS member Morton Halperin became head of the CNSS.7 ------[7 Broken Seals, Op cit., passim; 'Outlaws of Amerika,' report of the Western Goals Foundation, Alexandria, VA, 1982, pp. 51-60, passim.

Thanks for that info, Race.

I wasn't sure even though I followed it here at FR.

You fought a hard and valiant battle and won.

The injustice was that the perp wasn't brought up on charges for what he did and prosecuted

Very interesting.

That shows what they have to achieve to fulfill their purposes.

No wonder they support terrorists. The need them to attack the USA so they can come into power.

Just like liberals/democrats.

I remember Clinton 's "private" remarks after the OKC bombing that basically showed he was elated that the attack would make him more popular.

Soon after it was absolved by destroying all the evidence and exonerating any Islamic terrorist connection by scrubbing the records of the proven involvement of at least one person of mid eastern descent.

Thanks for all the information you supply to these threads.

They didn’t need an attack on the USA to come to power— all they needed was a financial crisis.

all they needed was a financial crisis.

I guess I was a little loose with the term terrorist.

The attacks were there, just not recognizable as terroristism inspired.

code pink etc (and their counterparts) are no less terrorist than the Islamofacist variety

It goes a lot deeper than just a financial crisis, just one more straw.

Fits the model quite well.

Incrementalism not counterd properly by the Republican party. In fact quite the enablers.

I believe the the "they" you speak of differs somewhat from the "they" I was referring to.
