Let's get to the bottom of what party is better for the economy. In the last 40 years has any economic growth legislation been inspired by Democrats ?

I know all Democrats are going to point to Mr Clinton, but I would point to the Gingrich 'Contract with America' as the inspiration of any legislation Clinton passed, though I will have to look at the original and compare.

Yes, they constantly pass legislation to STUNT economic growth.

That's their ultimate goal so we depend on them.

The deregulation of the airline industry in the late 70s (along with the trucking industry) actually sparked a movement toward freer trade. Getting rid of fair pricing statutes opened up retail. Don’t know the details of whom should get the credit, but there had to be some Dems involved.

You are correct in your assessment...Gingrich made Clinton look good. Unfortunately, today though, Gengrich has gone Green, might as well be Ralph Nader. The only ‘successful’ ‘Growth’ programs the Dems conjure up to get out of Depressions/Recessions are.....WARS. They institute failed policies until the bottom drops out somewhere starting a war (for whatever reason). Hard to tell which failed policy will cause a war this time, there are so many!

Democrats had 1 economic idea 60+ yrs ago in FDR New Deal....that idea extended the great Depression for an extra 10 yrs and basically brought the 08’ economy to its knees.........every other economic idea they have ever had is a play off of FDR Class envy and re-distribute weatlh

Obama’s REAL Problem..is FDR......the crackup of the world FDR started..

but to Obama its a “crisis he doenst want to waste”

The deregulation of the airline industry in the late 70s

that would be the 80's airline dereg under Reagan! Reagan was the last 'small government' conservative. We need another one REAL soon.

So Democrats were probably forced to do these things in Carter’s Economy?

President Kennedy cut taxes, that’s why I didn’t ask for more than 40 years, but today’s Democrat doesn’t like Kennedy style tax cuts

In a word...no.

...and that's not going to change under Obama either.

OBAMA, THE STOCK MARKET, AND ENERGY

I took my first cheap flight to the 78 Kentucky Derby.

As I said, I don’t remember exactly who got the ball rolling. I think it was in response to SW Airlines bringing low fares to Texas with intrastate flights (and winning the court battles).

There were so many conservative Dems back then. Much different now.

No and if you look at the next post you can see how he wants to create government jobs. The problem is elected republicans sold their souls to wall street brokers, and huge corporations, huge federal government, and millionaires (corporate CEOs) and gave the democrats all they need for a socialist takeover. The republican message in 2008 was forget about me, vote against the democrats because they are worse. Two problems with that :1) Republicans were seen as being fully in charge for past 8 years (really it was 5) and 2) Things are much worse than even the slowing economy GWB got fom Clinton and 3) McCain showed no leadership, in fact cowardice on the September crisis, which was the final nail.
So what do we do? 1) fight strategically(what will sell?), going negative now will be more effective because we will not be seen in charge, example , on Auto bailout , ask why taxpayers should pay for golden benefits of UAW workers and retirees, and ask where the money is coming from now and how much more there is (NO ONE ASKS THAT!) and 2) republicans must stand for something, the ordinary non-government taxpayer again, not continue as the corrupt cowardly, lazy prostitutes that congress is filled with.

What argument do we make to stop socialistic takeover, ??? Only one will sell,1) “demand democrats tell us where the money is coming from and what stops endless spending?” 2) Throw GWB under bus like he did us years gao, call them “Bush/Pelosi government deficits” are now “Obama/Pelosi government deficits” Point to Obama website promising pay as you go, 3) So they insist on raising taxes ? My answer is throw GWB/democrat millionaires under bus like they do us. If you make 1M per year, we will support democrats raising their tax rate to any number they need. 80%, 90% but no one else, it's immoral for american taxpayers/borrowing to payback for democratic campaign contributions. No this wont support their programs, its a political strategy. Ask americans how many people Obama/Pelosi can put on welfare and who will run the country.

Your time frame is too short. They have been anti-american and anti-growth since 1860.

Why are you worried about the National Debt?

When your currency is almost worthless $10.1 Trillion is nothing!

IMO...you are right with JFK...but there is a reason the rumor persists the LBJ was really the force behind the assisination....they didnt want the voters to realize its “not what your country can do for you.....”—Democrats saw no reason to roll back FDR New Deal, let alone delay LBJ New Society......

JFK crisis was one “they didnt want to waste”

JFK really was the last moderate Democrat Pres without a push toward socialism to varying degrees
