Broken by Radio Equalizer, confirmed by Fox News.
In announcing his decision, Colmes said, I approached Bill Shine (FNCs Senior Vice President of Programming) earlier this year about wanting to move on after 12 years to develop new and challenging ways to contribute to the growth of the network. Although its bittersweet to leave one of the longest marriages on cable news, Im proud that both Sean (Hannity) and I remained unharmed after sitting side by side, night after night for so many years.
Colmes will continue to have a presence on FNC as he will serve as a liberal commentator on a variety of FOX News programming, including Foxnews.coms The Strategy Room and continue hosting his radio program, The Alan Colmes Show on FOX Talk, a division of FOX News Radio. He will also begin developing a weekend program
Hannity added, Not only has Alan been a remarkable co-host, hes been a great friend which is rare in this industry. Ill genuinely miss sparring with such a skillful debate partner.

“Wow, that’s too bad. I really believe Alan Colmes served a useful purpose of showing how fundamentally inane Liberals are. He’ll be missed.”
I just read this latest news about Colmes leaving the show and thought the same thing you did. Colmes was a posterchild for the idiocy of liberalism and socialism.
On a side note, he always reminded me of a “dummy”. I don’t mean dummy, as in stupid (although that would apply as well in his case), but as a ventriloquist’s “dummy”. His face and jaw would make a great pattern for a “dummy” and the parroting of the Leftist talking points, makes him a perfect DUmmy.
Good points.
Personally; I would like to see Hannity and Colmes replaced with Dornan/Olbermann...now THAT’S entertainment!
KIRSTEN POWERS!
KIRSTEN POWERS!!
KIRSTEN POWERS!!!
I think there are two things going on here. First, I think Colmes’ wife is pregnant. When she was on the show a few weeks ago, I thought I detected a bulge, even though she was wearing a black dress. I wouldn’t be surprised if this isn’t factoring into his decision. He would have more time available if only doing his radio show and a weekend show on Fox.
Second, I think Colmes was upset because other TV shows (mostly on MSNBC) were constantly ripping into Colmes as being the token liberal on Fox, and what a wimp he was. I think he wants to burnish his lib credentials now that Obama has won, by no longer being the wimp dominated by Hannity on the show. He wants to go solo. Fox will accomodate him in order to burnish their credentials as not being a totally right wing cable TV station. So they will give him the weekend show.
Just guessing.
All sounds logical.
