In one of his final actions in the White House, President Bush on Thursday declared Jan. 18 to be National Sanctity of Human Life Day.
All human life is a gift from our creator that is sacred, unique and worthy of protection. On National Sanctity of Human Life Day, our country recognizes that each person, including every person waiting to be born, has a special place and purpose in this world, reads the presidential proclamation.
The most basic duty of government is to protect the life of the innocent. My administration has been committed to building a culture of life by vigorously promoting adoption and parental notification laws, opposing federal funding for abortions overseas, encouraging teen abstinence and funding crisis pregnancy programs, the proclamation continues.
The sanctity of life is written in the hearts of all men and women. On this day and throughout the year, we aspire to build a society in which every child is welcome in life and protected in law. We also encourage more of our fellow Americans to join our just and noble cause. History tells us that with a cause rooted in our deepest principles and appealing to the best instincts of our citizens, we will prevail.
Bush is scheduled to deliver a farewell address Thursday night which White House counselor Ed Gillespie described during the morning briefing as optimistic and future-oriented.

~~God bless President Bush ....PING!
Should have been on January 22nd! Make Soetoro RESCIND it if he wants.
I predict that Soetoro is going to do what Clinton did—sign sweeping pro-abortion executive orders on January 22nd, with the March for Life taking place on the ellipse, visible through the White House windows.
And thanks, also, for the two Supreme Court Justices you gave us. Chief Justice, John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito.
Seeing the President say goodbye brought a tear to my eye. America’s last legitimate leader.
I completely agree. God bless and save us.
Always has been a staunch ally of pro-lifers! God bless him for that.
What will the Horde of Moelech do with all that hateful energy once he is gone?
I will be fondly remembering President Bush when I join thr March for Life next Thursday.President Bush was a great friend of life.

The upcoming occupant of the White House stands for what is hip per the "me" generations. He will be popular for awhile, but will be insignificant in the more sober and austere halls of history. His will be a meaningless and weightless presidency, except God convert him.
Despite all my other complaints about this Bush; on the #1 issue he’s been solid as a rock.
God Bless President Bush for this wise decision. Hail And Fairwell to him. I may have some issues with him, but on this, I am behind 100%.
Yes, indeed. We will greatly miss that virtuous pro-life attitude when President Bush is gone.
I sure hope that I can make it, as well.
It’s an awesome day!
May God bless you George, and all those you love.
Pro-Life bump
This proclamation by POTUS Bush, more than anything else, signifies the choice America has made in its so-called newly elected -presider- (whom I will never refer to as ‘President’ while he pretends to hold office.).
In the end, God will not be mocked; and those who have called themselves Christian while abandoning His Teaching, including our Nation, will pay the price.
