Biden draws Obama's ire over flubs
The Washington Times ^ | January 22, 2009 | Jon Ward

That didn't take long.

During his first full day in office, Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. made a jarring verbal gaffe, shooting a public dig at the Supreme Court Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. that left President Obama grim-faced.

When asked by Mr. Obama to administer the oath of office to White House senior staff, Mr. Biden, who is known for saying things he shouldn't, asked, "Am I doing this again?"

Appearing in need of a cheat sheet off of which he could read the oath, Mr. Biden then said, "My memory isn't as good as Justice Roberts'."

It was an unsubtle dig at the chief justice, who during Mr. Obama's swearing in at the Capitol on Tuesday flubbed the oath of office, causing Mr. Obama to pause and stumble through the highlight of his inauguration.

But the new president appeared not to be amused by Mr. Biden's crack. As some in the audience drew in breath and gave low "oohs," Mr. Obama stood silently next to Mr. Biden and appeared to just barely shake his head.

It was the second time this week a Biden went off script, to the embarrassment of the new administration.

Appearing with her husband on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" Monday, Jill Biden confided that during the presidential campaign Mr. Obama had offered Mr. Biden the choice of being vice president or secretary of state.

As Mr. Biden put his finger to his lips and said, "Shhhhh," Mrs. Biden stuck by her account, saying he chose vice president in part because the job involved less travel.

"If you're secretary of state, you'll be away, we'll never see you," she said.

After Wednesday's gibe at the chief justice, Mr. Biden then asked who he was swearing in, prompting Mr. Obama to instruct all his...

“Just say a prayer for the O’s health.”

There you have it, O’s health insurance and survival plan. Judging from the remarks here, it just might work.

Obama is capable of much more damage to our nation than shifty Joe. Don’t pray for physical harm for either man, but know that Obama is much more dangerous than corrupt Joe. Both should be indited in 2009.

It's sounding like amateur hour already.

Well, that, and the fact that O is a man possessed of such hubris that he can't be bothered with petty details or protocol. He's already chafed under the rules imposed by the Secret Service. When faced with the almost-daily routine appearances/awards/honorifics that traditionally fall to the POTUS, expect problems.

>"I've felt since before the election that Biden will be a one-term VP"

I think you're overestimating his ability, and longevity.

All they have to do is show whut a total boob butt hair is and her thighness is a shoe in. Then Bambi comes clean on his Chicaga Corruptions and resigns. Bingo daughter of satan is in control again.

With the exception of sound (but wishy-washy when actually presenting policy to Obama) economists like Romer and Summers, Obama’s appointments demonstrate startling bad judgement for a President.

And to think the angry left actually ridiculed the prospect of Palin as VP.

Will the liberal media avoid or bury this story?

Maybe Jake Tapper at ABC?

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/

The Executive Order on Ethics Commitments by Executive Branch Personnel requires that lobbyists who become members of Obama administration will not be able to work on matters they lobbied on for two years, or in the agencies they lobbied during the previous two years. Anyone who leaves the Obama administration will not be able to lobby his administration. The orders also instituted a ban on gifts by lobbyists to members of the administration.

There have already been notable exceptions to this rule, with one of them being Deputy Defense Secretary William Lynn, who was a registered lobbyist for defense contractor Raytheon before being appointed. Obama administration spokesman Tommy Vietor had said that "we are aware that Mr. Lynn lobbied for Raytheon, and are working with Mr. Lynn to craft a role for him that is consistent with the president-elect's high standards while balancing the need to fill this critical national security position."

He strikes me as having integrity.

Supposedly he still smokes weed. At the very least, he must be lighting up his cigs in the white house. He will come unglued without being able to smoke at will. Isn’t he addicted to nicotine? And his weed habit will have to take place in Chicago. Has he been twitching lately? There is no way this nicotine addict won’t come unglued with this level of scrutiny. Bet Ayres is pressuring him to legalize marijuana.

Biden only reiterated Obama and Axelrod’s non-stop dissing of Roberts. They instructed Biden to verbally spank Roberts and it back fired. Now they are playing dumb? Bush and Cheney weren’t capable of behaving in such a juvenile incompetent manner. Obama is forever incompetent for interrupting Roberts, then having to re-do his oath. Then having Biden play the bad cop. Chicago thug politics will continue to be ridiculed on the world stage.

Go to the next section on Tapper’s blog, “VP Biden Pokes Fun at Chief Justice Roberts.” It also has a video called, “Biden’s Joke Falls Flat,” IIRC.

In other words, the truth came out and Hussein didn't like it.

Man, the LameStream Media was all over this story--just like they would've been if it'd been a Republican president. Not.

proof of poor judgment on Obama

.
Another is Clinton#2, as Senator Hillary blames her war vote on President Bush, obviously she does not study and come to an informed decision, and Clinton#2 is going to be an effective, informed Secretary of State, NOT!

I agree. To some extent, Biden was picked to provide deniability for some of Barry’s nastier actions. I think he was also picked because he represented no threat to Obama’s cult of personality and also, of course, because he was so desperate to get the job of VP that he would go along with whatever der Fuhrer told him to do.

Don’t forget, furthermore, that Biden has an extremely left-wing voting record, so we’re not talking about somebody who has any conscience to begin with.
