I had rather see a SPENDING cap (some percent of the GDP that can only be exceeded by a supermajority that has to be renewed for each budget) for them, and have them take care of THEIR business, instead of everybody else’s.
The first thing I thought of was the reverse financing theme: Can a small business that pays taxes demand that congressmen get no more pay than the business owner?
My sentiments exactly - limits on speaking fees, book deals, perks?
I’d prefer a media exposure cap for idiot politicians (which is just about every dang one of ‘em).
If they got paid by their worth, they would get zero, nothing and in some cases they would owe the tax payers money.
Based on Congressional effectiveness their salaries should be zero. Government is the biggest ripoff in America. They run the largest Ponzi program and even indulge in a little conterfeiting. And they want to control the private sector? What a bigger mess than today that would be.
