'Sanctions' sought in President's Eligibility case
WorldNet Daily ^ | Feb. 13, 2009 | Bob Unruh

Posted on 02/13/2009 2:41:18 AM PST by SvenMagnussen

A high-powered team of Los Angeles attorneys representing President Obama in his effort to keep his birth certificate, college records and passport documents concealed from the public has suggested there should be "monetary sanctions" against a lawyer whose clients have brought a complaint alleging Obama doesn't qualify for the Oval Office under the Constitution's demand for a "natural born" citizen in that post.

The suggestion came in an exchange of e-mails and documents in a case brought by former presidential candidate Alan Keyes and others in California. The case originally sought to have the state's electors ordered to withhold their votes for Obama until his eligibility was established. Since his inauguration, it has been amended to seek a future requirement for a vetting process, in addition to the still-sought unveiling of Obama's records.

This could set a precedent for me becoming a lawyer. I could begin filing sanction suits against the ACLU everytime they go to court any where in the country. It could become a Free Republic cottage industry filing ACLU sanction law suits

Obama entered Occidental in September, 1979. Lolo Soetoro was most likely still his legal step-father and Barry was most likely still a citizen of Indonesia.

What qualifies one as 'legal step-father'? Obama's mother and Soetoro separated in 1972 and divorced in 1980. By the time he enrolled in Occidental, Obama had been living back in the U.S. for 8 years. So if your definition of step-father is he was married to Obama's mother then I suppose that's true. If you attach some other meaning to it then I'd be curious to know what.

I don’t think skin color, father or name are that significant. At least not significant enough to withhold it. The Obamabots nor I would care as long as he is a citizen.

I wonder if it's not the citizenship which is the issue for him, it's the withholding. He talks about being a citizen of the world, it might show he is an American. However, if he doesn't have to show it, why should anyone else? Why should any illegal alien have to show any papers at all. Let them in!

Obama promised hope and change. Promised the most ethical administration.
Why then would the man work so hard to hide his history?
If he has nothing to hide this could all go away in a matter of hours. It has drug on for months. Why would a new President want this hanging around his neck?
Must REALLY have something that needs to be hidden....

It was Democrats that opened this can of worms. It all started when they tried to challenge John McCain’s legitimacy to run because he was born out of the country. John McCain produced his birth certificate. There is still some squabbling going on about that. McCain was born in a private hospital in Panama, not in the military base hospital. However, we do know he was born out of the country because his father was serving in the US Navy.

With Obama’s arrogance, why if he were born in Hawaii just release the information to rub our noses in it. I find it very disheartening that this has gone this far.

Being a mere citizen, I cannot fathom how a Judge can say that a citizen does not have grounds to know if the person running for President of OUR country is legitimate!

Besides that, with the way immigration has skyrocketed in this country, we need to set a precedent and clarify the law, NOW!

Don’t they have to actually prove they HAVE a valid birth certificate before any sanctions could be given?

One would think so. But remember, we're in Bizarro World now.

Re your post 38:

(2) His father was Frank Davis is in conflict with (4) Natural citizen and (5) US Citizen. If Frank was his father, he’s legit for President, even though his pedigree is blood red. But (2) alone wouldn’t disqualify him—it would just be deliciously embarrassing. The “Star” and “National Enquirer” would have to find a new and bigger typeface for their headlines.

This is interesting, Obama wants his legal team paid for something $12.50 can produce!

Let’s say he wins and he produces his birth certificate, and it proves that he is an Amercian citizen only “Barack Hussein Obama” is not his real name. Let say for instance his real name is “Stanley Dunham Soetoro”, or “Barry Toot Soetoro” Are those suing for his records then liable for a other defenses his lawyers may be challenged with as a result of the exposed fraud?

Perhaps this is what they are after, a sort of MAD (mutually assured destruction) shield from which to hide his records behind similar to the threats he made against McCain and Hillary during the campaign.

Lying caused Nixon to resign.

Zero has already lied, now he is trying to hide it.

I think it is more serious than that. This changing from white to black would be played up by his worshippers. It is more likely that he just wasn’t born in the USA. Hawaii issues certificates of live birth to foreign born children. We are dealing with a conman, a hustler, a fraud, a userper, a confidence man, a charletan. America has been punked.

I don’t think so. That could be easily explained away and would not effect his eligibility.

Rather ironic, too, when considering what the Defendant-in-Chief wrote barely a year ago:

Charleston Law Review (Forward)
Volume 2 Fall 2007 Issue 1

"The system of law requires that there be people willing to help others exercise and defend their rights. For the public conversation to have meaning, people must have not only the right to speak, but also the opportunity to be heard." ~ Sen. Barack Obama

Barry -- why are you trying to deny the people from being heard?

What qualifies one as 'legal step-father'?

An adoption.

I see you're still shilling for your Obamamessiah.

Obama wants his legal team paid for something $12.50 can produce!

He has MANY legal teams. There have been at least 48 actions brought against Obama. The lawyers on this action get $600 per hour.

... his birth certificate, and it proves that he is an Amercan citizen

He is an American citizen. He's just not a "natural born citizen," because his father was a Kenyan. For 18 years, Obama, himself, was a British and Kenyan subject.

There's something else on that vault-copy birth certificate he doesn't want anyone to see.

An adoption is not a "legal step father

That person becomes the legal father....

Don’t you know that a guy with nearly thirty million in surplus campaign funds can’t afford that $12.50 processing fee...?

***Well, he did say yesterday that we all have to live within our means.

I also found it interesting that his lawyers want “monetary sanctions” brought against the lawyers supporting the case against him.

Does this mean if I want to file a lawsuit, it has to have his stamp of approval? He certainly wants to control all other aspects of our lives so I guess it wouldn’t surprise me....***

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

What is the real father called after an adoption?

I have a favor to ask. WND's headline writers wrote another clinker of a headline for this piece, as is their wont. I believe the story to be so important that it deserves to be made clearer with all or part of the following bracketed onto the end of it:

[Obama lawyers seek to quash subpoena for college records and sanction Keyes lawyer]

Thank you for your kind consideration of this matter.
