Obama to Seek New Assault Weapons Ban
ABC News ^ | 02-25-2009 | Jason Ryan

As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons," Holder told reporters.

I think closing the gun show loophole, the banning of cop-killer bullets and I also think that making the assault weapons ban permanent, would be something that would be permitted under Heller," Holder said, referring to the Supreme Court ruling in Washington, D.C. v. Heller, which asserted the Second Amendment as an individual's right to own a weapon.

To be curt: we should have the exact same small arm that is BEARABLE that is currently in use by any military or LEO organization.

Exactly! This is what the founders intended.

"You must both be smoking the Good Stuff."

Really? Today Pelosi killed his turkey before it even got started.

Pelosi tosses cold water on assault-weapon ban

I believe that makes my prediction the right one.... for now. Of course, is it still a legislative defeat if it never even gets started? lol

Oh, you mean it’s illegal? Oh, what was I thinking. They’d never violate the law or the constitution.

He was wrong about Heller- what makes him think he can be right about anything?

It’ll be interesting to watch, that’s for sure. As an interesting historical comparison, the last time teh ATF was in deep doodoo and decided they needed a splashy bust (code name “Showtime”) the result was Waco, and the state was...Texas.

“Some recent Mexican army and police confrontations with drug cartels have resembled small-unit combat, with cartels employing automatic weapons and grenades,”

Once again, depending on the ignorance of the people to believe that tons of full-auto “assault weapons” are being sold.

That is the big question; what about the millions already legally owned in law-abiding hands? Registration of course is what they want.

Just register your rifles and you'll be OK. Would we lie to you? All of them, serial numbers too. Thank you.

Oh, and if you don't list all of them and we find them, you'll be automatically a felon. Did we mention that?

And if we find your case of cheap Russian "armor piercing cop killer bullets", you'll automatically be a felon.

We believe in the second amendment and fully support the rights of licensed hunters and registered target shooters.

American hunters and target shooters all support this vital safety legislation. Anyone who does not is a dangerous nut.

America has voted overwhelmingly for Change. Now let's not waste time in getting Change done. Register them or destroy them.

No one needs a weapon that can penetrate a cop's vest. This is the 21st century. We all must sacrifice for the greater good.

We won. We write the bills and you spread your cheeks. Thank you for your cooperation, citizen.

If they believe they can pull that off, they might just be stupid enough to trigger the disaster that would be CW2.

A pretty good summation of the events as they'll likely unfold.

The heavy hand of government, when wielded by any freaky-bitch liberal, is that much heavier.

But they will try it later AFTER they get more of their sinister agenda passed.

April or May at the rate they are going. Maybe June-July at the latest.

By the time of the 4th Annual Texas Cowboy Memorial Shoot, it will probably constitute an armed illegal right wing gun nut militia assembly.

Come to think of it, except for the "illegal" part, that's what it's always been. :)

Exactly! This is what the founders intended.

Well almost, they had privately owned cannons, and even cannon armed ships. The power of Congress to issue letters of Marque wouldn't make much sense if private individuals couldn't or didn't own those cannon and ships. You can't "bear", in the sense of "carry" those. But you can "keep", meaning own, have, possess, etc, them.

It was those cannon that General Gage's Redcoats were after on April 19, 1775, although his orders told 'em to take whatever arms they could find, including privately owned ones, as well as powder, ball, shot (for the cannons) and other stores such as tents, food, etc.

They didn't get the cannon, although they managed to destroy the carriages which were left behind, and they through some of the balls into the mill pond (where they were recovered later) and they got even more of the balls...the hard way.

That was statement was post Heller, but he doesn't have to be right, because he and the Messiah have power.

Registration of course is what they want.

And HR 45, already in the hopper, would do just that. Sure it doesn't have any cosponsors, for now anyway, but it's all ready to be attached to some "emergency" legislation. And it was written, or at least filed, by The One's very own Congressman, former(?) Black Panther, Bobby Rush.
