As Limbaugh points out, stupidity is costly. It is also deadly. Liberals squander dollars and lives equally.

The federal government is going to do exactly nothing about this...why should they? Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, are mostly Republican voting states...Obama’s not gonna help them.

Just wait until congress legalizes all the illegals here...and that’s coming...more welfare recipients and Democrat voters.

That’s all they care about.

When is our governement going to get off is dead ass and do something about this?

Don't hold your breath, these are real criminals and are thus pretty scary. It's much easier to control a largely law abiding population than to deal with anarchy like this. Maybe earmark them a billion or so, and then they'll go home.

U.S. Grant and a few of his men dragged a twelve pounder to the top of a church steeple and leveled it at the executive palace; that got the Mexicans' attention back then. I hope it hasn't reached that level yet, but it doesn't look good.

No doubt about it. These people aren't stupid, this is deliberate. What their plan is, one can only speculate.

Send the Army into Mexico and annex it as a territory.

Because everyone in Mexico will be entitled to food stamps, welfare, student loans, housing, social security, disability, unemployment, Medicare, Medicaid, minimum wage and free legal advice.

Plus, they hate Americans.

I wonder if she’s seen the kind of hardware involved in these gun battles down south. Either the cartels have a different supply of weapons or I’ve been missing the grenade and full auto aisle at the gun show.

It would be nice if our elected officials would do something brazzen, like uphold the constitution.

Hey there, you radical. Don't rock their comfortable little boat by making wild, irresponsible suggestions like that.

I don’t disagree with stopping the flow of weapons to drug lords and genuine criminal gangs. Some of the hardware involved is hand grenades, mortars, and RPGs. I suspect these things are made in China, if not supplied by China. Typical liberal though, she wants to concentrate on firearms sold in America.

Mad Max comes to a neighborhood near you.

I am trying to remember the last time I went to Wal Mart and bought a hand grenade or any other chinese made military equipment.

Nice of our Government TO NOT DO the one specific thing that the Constitution requires...protection of our sovereign borders. And they want to disarm us....bwahahahaha

They are! Didn't you hear Eric Holder? He want's to re-instate a new and improved "assault weapons" ban. That'll stop those Mexican drug lords!

Agreed! Do you think the government will call out the Mormons like they did back then?

Yes. You are right. It goes back many decades.

But that doesn't make what I said untrue:

For 8 long years GWB did nothing on this issue.

Less than nothing.

He capitulated to the Mexicans. He capitulated to the rats.

He oversaw the railroading of 2 good Americans working on the border patrol. (I know, in the end he commuted their sentences. Better than nothing, but not justice.)

A moat ?...

Just mine the damned border and be done with it.

I was going to say "you must be new," but you're not, so you must have just missed it a ways back... There were some threads about securing the borders, and other threads about how alligators in FL have lost their fear of humans, and there had been a spate of attacks. Well, this being FR, someone came up with a way to fix both problems at once... Build a moat along the border, and stock it with alligators, especially the ones who aren't afraid of people.

Look at it in a broad historical context. In about 197 AD the Roman Emperor Septimius Severus pulled all of the troops out of the border forts along the Rhine and Danube and marched them off to fight a war against the Parthians (Iranians) in what is, coincidentally, now Iraq. This had the effect of giving Rome the same kind of "open borders" policy that we enjoy today.

Over the next 250 years or so gangs of illegal immigrants swarmed across the borders of the Roman Empire, looting, pillaging and no doubt doing work no Roman would do, until they broke up the internal cohesion of the empire and finally sacked Rome itself. What we see today is the early stages of this process as applied to America.

In the early third century the Roman Empire was distracted by foreign adventures and internal political strife and didn't do anything to counter what came to be called the barbarian invasions until it was way too late. We may still have time but you are right - our government needs to get off its dead ass and do something pretty quick before it's too late to prevent the Sack Of Washington.

Now the they’ve murdered a US Senator’s son, things will change.

What?
The victim wasn’t a senator’s son?

Never mind.

These people have enough cash money to acquire whatever they want, from any market in the world. I'd look for containers of arms and ammo coming from the far east. Who's actually selling them, who knows? I'll bet the state department has a clue.

As an American territory we would be free to clean up the riff-raff and wipe out the drug lords. God knows we can’t depend upon the Mex government to do this. Besides it needs doing.

On the other hand, they can't seem to do that in southern California, and last time I checked that was a part of the USA.

No offense, man.

This problem is way beyond fixing now...All that is left are consequences.
