Walter Reed WIND Continues at Olney (Wk 164) and Westminster (Wk 42 ) - AAR TWO-FER
March 03,2009

Posted on 03/03/2009 6:14:04 PM PST by trooprally

As Tom the Redhunter reported in his Walter Reed AAR, it was pretty windy out, but warm. Well, that wind blew in the precursor of our snow fall - COLD WEATHER. The temps never made it out of the 30s on Saturday, and never out of the 20s thru today, Tuesday.

The wind was blowing from the north, into our faces. This had Legionnaires Glenn (WWII - Iwo Jima) and Frank (Korea and having health problems) leaving early.

The other Patriots this Saturday included Legionnaire Halsey (USMC - Korea), Lurker Bill and FReepers Cindy_True_Supporter, and myself.

Even with 8 moonbats on the other corner, we received more honks and waves than they did. This sounds like a broken record, but the passing support really helps us stand in Olney no matter what the weather.

A side story, the local photographer, Lisa Stancik, who interviewed the two sides for the Greater Olney Community Association (GOCA), Week 122, and put together a short video, received their Citizen of the Year Award. She really did a good job and showed our group in a good light. GOCA receives questions about things happening in Olney and the Saturday protest/counter protest had received a lot. The video is on the local cable channel twice a week.

BELOW LEFT: Some cold Legionnaires on our left flank - Frank, Halsey and Glenn. Lurker Bill is in the back ground. BELOW RIGHT: Speaking of Lurker Bill ....... Flags are unfurled in the wind.

BELOW: Cindy_True_Supporter holding down the right flank where I usually stand. She even is holding my sign. Hey Cindy, I’m coming back!!

BELOW LEFT: Moonbats, also cold but with the wind at their backs. The banner is announcing a play at the Quakers’ Friends School. BELOW RIGHT: What the banner behind them should really say.

AND THEN IT WAS TIME TO HEAD TO WESTMINSTER FOR OUR 3PM SUPPORT THE TROOPS RALLY

Hi Ho - Hi Ho- It’s off to Westminster we go.

BELOW: 25 minutes out of Olney, we cross into Howard County. BELOW RIGHT: Another 15 minutes and we cross into Carroll County and onto Westminster, another 15 minute ride.

BELOW LEFT: Lurker Bill, with WIND still blowing, just as at Walter Reed and Olney. BELOW RIGHT: Where I would have been if I wasn’t taking pictures. Lurker Bill and I, while out numbered by 5 moonbats, received several salutes and many more honks and waves than the moonbats.

BELOW: Westminster’s Main Street is a great place to visit. You go back years in a time warp. While time does not stand still here, it does allow you to be in two places at once. The clock tower shows 10:05, which means we just now setting up our flags and banners in Olney. Actually time did stand still today. The clock showed 10:05 the whole time we were there.

WARNING TO FREEPERS ATTENDING OLNEY

Some new money making SPEED CAMERAS have been installed on north bound Georgia Avenue right before you enter the main business district. Slow your speed after the light at King William Drive.

And a new one has been placed just south of Brookeville, between Brookeville and the Longwood Community Center.

REMEMBER
Next Saturday, same place, Georgia Avenue, MD Rte. 97 and MD Rte. 108 in Olney
NEW TIME - 10:15 AM to 11:45 AM

As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

But a lot of verbal engagement in Olney is always welcome.

AND DON’T FORGET WESTMINSTER

Every SECOND and LAST Saturday of the month. We like to get there a little before 3:30PM and stay till about 4:45, after the moonbats have left the scene.

You got through Howard County in 15 minutes on 97? That’s good! About half the time, when I’m driving that road, usually during evening rush hour, I end up stuck behind some jerk who’s only doing 30-something in the 50-mph zone!

Love the two-fer! Awesome (is that better than nice?) AAR’s! Thank you very much for holding down the fort for us in Westminster. Time really did stand still, but you amazing patriots covered Olney and Westminster in a matter of hours. Kudos!

Every once in a while there will be a slow driver, but never 30. Of course it isn’t rush hour. And there are only a few places to pass slow cars.

That’s two of us who hate the cold, but luckily after a while, one gets the proper gear to survive it. If I remember correctly, you live in a colder place than us. Have you ordered your CLEAN coal yet to help stimulate the economy?

You know what? We are surrounded by four (count them, 4) clean coal power plants. I look out in any direction and see beautiful white steam pouring from the stacks into the blue sky and I thank God and WV for them. I could strangle that devil in the WH.

Amen re the “messiah” in the WH.

And there is no local global warming where you live even with the stacks.

No local warming. We’re freezing our buns off and wishing for summer. We also don’t have fish with two heads and the birds seem to be doing fine. People are happy for the jobs and are not coughing up their lungs or coming down with cancer in larger numbers. We love our power plants. We don’t love the O-boy.

LOL

Temps in the D.C. area this weekend are about 40 degrees warmer than last weekend, excluding Friday at Walter Reed.

Stay warm.
