"Deadly assault weapons have no place in Massachusetts," Romney said, at a bill signing ceremony with legislators, sportsmen's groups and gun safety advocates.
"These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people."
Governor Mitt Romney 2002
I did the same thing only I took the regulation stock off put on a folding one ripped the sling bayonet off and converted the regulation clip to a 30 round banana. Now its an assault weapon still single auto though. I use throw away chinese shells that I buy by the case. My grandaughter just loves to go to the range with me and fire it. Its no more an assault weapon than my 12 guage auto.
i buy russian ammo....where do you get the chinese stuff?
I read somewhere that the 35 Whelen has taken more big game in AK than any other caliber.
Too bad you sold it all a few years ago to private individuals. They got a great deal.
They are so scary just about every police force in America carries them. No wonder I get the heebee-jeebies when I see the black shirts patrolling.
Look for Yugo ammo now - it seems to be what’s available, and it’s brass, not steel cased.
I can’t seem to remember who all I sold all mine to...
If Zell Miller (D) - the old-time dem who gave the best speech at the RNC 4 years ago I believe (and being an old democrat he’s way more conservative than any existing dem) - ran against a RINO, I’d vote for him.
Really, I heard you lost all of them in a fire.
“Cop killer” bullets are used in the guns of police. They may not spray them themselves with teflon spray, but they are the same bullets. Black Talons, etc.
I hunt polar bear from a safe distance employing global warming as my weapon of choice....
So, thank you, Bill Clinton!
I'd believe it. As per the most recent issue of G&A, the .35 Whelen now has a big brother, the .370 Sako, which is essentially a very slightly elongated .30-06 necked up to 9.3mm. Craig Boddington who wrote the article, and whose evaluations I usually trust implicitly, said that it had almost the energy of a .375 H&H with the recoil of a .35 Whelen.
I suspect that it will become quite popular in Alaska.
Ted is a Forest Service Ranger The bear stood on his hind legs and then charged Several people were killed by the bear The firearm of choice was a .7mm, .9mm, or .500 Nitro The bear weighed in at a whopping 1600 lbs and stood 12.5' Alaska Department of Fish and Game seized the trophy because it was killed in Defense of Life or Property The bear is a new world record
Fact
Ted is a member of the United States Air Force All shots were from ten yards Ted used a Remington .338 Win-Mag hand-loaded with 250 grain Nosler Partitions Live weight was estimated between 1000-1200 lbs and squared 10.5' (10' nose to tail, 11' claw to claw) The season for brown bear was open, and both hunters possessed brown bear tags The bear was estimated to be in his early to mid twenties Official Boone & Crockett score is 28 14/16 and would rank 150 based on the 11th Edition of N.A. Big Game records
[I refuse to use the A word .. The barrel has grooves in it so it's a Rifle, dammit. Period. End of sentence]
....Is to get yourself a stripped lower receiver and build from there Just remember it's just a small piece of black anodized aluminum so it's REAL easy for them to go missing.......
Yep. Could you IMAGINE what I could get for that stuff these days?
I believe that bear was killed on an island near Cordova with a .338 Winchester. An airman from Eilson got it. It weighed from 1,000 to 1,200 lbs.
Thanks. I see the long range marksmanship potential.
The highest muzzle energy I can find for the 5.7x28 367 foot pounds, and that’s from a commercial site. I can’t find muzzle energy figures for the Five-SeveN Tactical on FN’s site.
If I do the calculations myself, converting 40 grains to kilograms, 2800 feet/second to meters/second, calculating ke=1/2mv^2 and converting the results from newton-meters to foot-pounds I only get 255.75 foot pounds but I may be doing something wrong.
I hate when that happens
