Regarding salty talk aimed at the president (or other officials) vs visits from the SS
March 5, 2009 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 03/05/2009 12:43:09 PM PST by Jim Robinson

Unfortunately, we are saddled with a communist sympathizer in the White House. I don't know whether or not he's an actual card carrying commie, but he's definitely an America-hating, anti-capitalist Marxist leftist who thinks communism is the way to go. Now I remember when America used to fight against communism. It wasn't that long ago. Many of us on FR are veterans of wars against communism and some of us believe that American citizens who are communists are the enemy within, ie, the domestic enemy we've sworn to defend against. American citizen? hmmmm... that may be a loophole for Obama.

At any rate, the oath is to defend our constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. I can imagine that this places an enormous strain on our Secret Service agents. It's obvious to anyone with a brain that Obama is an enemy of the constitution. So should the SS defend the constitution or defend the anti-constitution commie?

So now comes the problem. If you feel it's your duty to call Obama a traitor and use salty language in your proposed resolution, ie, suggest the commie be keelhauled, walked off the plank, run up the yardarm, tarred and feathered and run out of Dodge, etc, etc, etc, you may be facing a visit from your friendly Secret Service. And even though your visiting agent may agree politically, and may take his oath to the constitution seriously, he's still sworn to protect the officeholder and it's his duty to take all threats seriously. And that may include serving me with a subpoena to turn over your IP address. Now I'm duty bound to protect your privacy to the best of my ability, but I cannot defend against stupidity.

Best advice I can give is to keep it to yourself. Don't post anything that may embarrass you later, or end you up in the slammer.

Ever vigilant.

Keep your powder dry.

Thanks for the heads up JR.
THIS is what the Secret Service and Homeland Security should be looking out for:
A very few years ago at an anti-Iraq war rally on Boston (MA) Commons a rock group was performing a song wherein the lyrics had a refrain with explicit reference to killing President Bush. THIS should be considered truly threatening to the physical safety of the President as THIS can be taken by an observing ‘bordeline’ personality as direct incitement, a tacit approval to assassination.
I was not there and cannot recall exact line. My friend who did came to my place just a few minutes away and he was as visibly upset as could be. He said he went up to the Boston Police there who could clearly hear the repeated lyric and was told it was :free speech”. He then tried to call into the Laura Ingraham show from my phone as it was going live at the hour. He was able to get through to the screener but it was too late into the show to be put on air.

I don’t really view it that way. If people are saying things that are way, way over the top - that’s not good for any of us here and not good for FR in general.

Currently a cold “civil war” exists in America. But for how long?

As the old Sunday School song goes, "it only takes a spark to get a fire going..."

What form would such a spark take? Some are obvious, some are not. My advice is simply this:

Be Prepared. Be Vigilant. Take all necessary steps to protect your family and loved ones in the event of a SHTF scenario.

And when the time comes, Act - with courage and moral certainty.

I do appreciate your concern about this. I did, as you said, make it pretty vague about my buddy, and I did think about any ramifications of posting comments about what he tells me. His opinion, and what he tells me, and others, is not connected with anything about national security. I don't trust this administration any more than you do (I'm assuming that you are not an obama insider, trying to fire, get rid of, or reassign, anyone who disagrees with his policies), but my buddy has a job to do, and does it well. And, with this current administration, I wouldn't put it past them to do what you are suggesting. My buddy just disagrees with his policies, as do many in the military, law enforcement, and the secret service, but they have their jobs and do them as necessary. I have a partner in my business (1 of 2) who has said that he HATES this country (unquote) and thinks that obama is great and should force GM to build mass transit systems instead of cars. I think the guy is a whack job, but he is good at what he does and I can work with him even though we are 180 degrees out of phase politically. I've talked to my SS friend about this and he is not concerned.

Plus, he just upgraded from a .380 to .357 Sig.

Good.

I can let it rest.

Just didn’t want any obviously true patriots at unnecessary risk.

Thanks much for your follow-up.

Right. I’m not any kind of OThuga fan in the least.

Disgusting manwhore is a compliment these days! Anything against Obama, however, is treason. To me, the biggest humiliation Obama could possibly have is to be voted out of office in 2012, thus being Carter part 2.

I remember that - having retired USAF 36 years ago.

Doubt I’ve made any more mistakes on my taxes than the average Obama presidential appointee.

GAH!! That means up to 100K, right? We going to have to start calling you TurboTaxJim?

Thanks for the reminder.

I don't think it was Conan who did the bulls eye Bush thing. It was on CBS, the Late Late Show, forget which host.

Heh. Somebody just posted this at zeroworship.com

What Obama means to Michelle Obama District of Columbia, USA - 05 Mar 2009

Zero means worship of the state instead of God. Zero means spending trillions of dollars in new welfare programs. Zero means increasing taxes during a recession to send us into a depression. Zero means a Dow of 2000 by the end of the year.

Unfortunately, he just gave 4 BILLION of our dollars to ACORN. Not sure he'll be voted out.

It’s a good point to bring up.

There are still quite a large volume of things we can say about the current WH apprentice without having to go dumb and make a threatening statement that only gets YOU in trouble.

And anyway, we don’t want or need to imitate the ‘best’ of DU.

I can verify for my friend, Quix. He is a solid, says-what-he-thinks Conservative. And, we (as Conservatives) are all in a living nightmare (day-mare, every-second-mare, and afraid we won’t wake up.)

Well, we will. And, when we finally do, our country will be stronger than ever.

Thank you for the thread, Jim. (And, for the ping, BG!)

"You sure said the truth well about our current nightmare."

Quix, those thoughts came from another FRiend, WayzataJOHNN, this morning, when he posted this poem on Amy's Place:

NIGHT TO DAY MARE

I awoke and found my country gone
changed between a dusk and a dawn
Where honor and honest no longer roam
and now only selective ‘truth’ calls home
Where any honest dissent brings wrath
and only left turns allowed in the path
Where the flag has become a joke now
and personal respect is a forbidden tao
Money is printed on toilet paper hope
and all for taking power over us dopes
Who’ll stand firm and say, and mean, NO
while others watch America crumble and go
Oh if this were but only my dream
but I find too many want to scream
Who will be as strong as those before
we let this evil within our very doors
Am I alone, or will you stand with me
across this great land from sea to sea

It sure got me thinking - his words were so intensly real with where my head is today.

I am sure he would love to hear from other FRiends.

Thanks all,

I know we are all on the same page, and Quix, I meant no harm or offense, and I appreciate that you have a FRiend like yorkie who knows your heart. My SS friend, [REDACTED], will appreciate it as well. It is interesting to hear his insight into the personalities of our "public servants" that he has had to deal with over the last couple years. And again, I don't want to compromise his position, and will not. They travel all the time, spend too much time away from their families, and never spend much time with any one protectee. In the last couple of years he has had to go over seas with [REDACTED],[REDACTED],and [REDACTED]. During this last election cycle, he had to provide security for [REDACTED] and [REDACTED]. Two things I will tell you he shared with me is that during the last campaign season, Palin's kids made his detail some chocolate cookies, and that it is true, that Hillary, is really, a Bitch.

“Then we will need to start carrying identification. Then a badge of some sort.”

Wait a minute, haven’t I seen here people suggesting we do that very thing because of illegal immigration? Life gets so confusing!!
