CHICAGO, April 3, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - On Friday, April 3, 2009, The Thomas More Society filed a Hate Crime charge in an Amended Federal Civil Complaint against an abortion clinic proprietor and ally in Rockford, Illinois as part of an ongoing court battle.
On March 29, 2008, Rockford resident Keith A. Sterkeson verbally attacked pro-life advocates Eric Nelson and Kevin Rilott outside a Rockford abortion facility, saying to Nelson, in part, "A Nigger, a Nigger. You are a worthless degenerate Nigger. Oh, you are a Nigger! You are a degenerate and empty skull, thinking Jesus is going to save you. You're a Nigger. Your mother was a Nigger." When we start playing by ‘hate crimes’ rules, we legitimize them.
Don’t know how to feel about this, frankly. Hate crime laws are just another tool of the left, really.
While I empathize with this man who was verbally assaulted, I am firmly against “Hate Crimes” legislation. I wish there was another way to bring this man to court instead of by these laws which create “special classes” of citizens with “special rights” compared to other citizens.
Hate crime? Sterkeson will probably get a medal.

I agree with you. It’s unfortunate this man chose this route. He’s not going to get as much support as he deserves simply because of Conservatives’ beliefs regarding these laws. Isn’t there any other recourse he could’ve taken?
While this guys racist rant was despicable, trying to file criminal charges against him using “Hate Crime” statutes, flies completely in the face of the 1st Amendment. They may not like what he said, but he had the Constitutional right to say it, and they had to Constitutional right to cover their ears.

I for one am quite willing to indulge him to play his irony out. The irony cuts against the abortuary folks, who as always have been carrying out their soft genocide of abortion. Abortion itself should qualify as a hate crime too.

Cameraman asks: Do you support abortion rights, sir?
Keith: I support what the f*ckin’ law says we can f*ckin’ do and the law says we can kill your f*ckin’ kids. That’s what the law says.
Cameraman: Why do you support that?
Keith: (pointing to the chimney on an out building) That’s where they burn the babies.
Cameraman zooms in on a chimney and asks, that chimney there?
Keith says: They cook ‘em up real good, the bloody limbs. All the black smoke— the smell of baby napalm. Oh you gotta love it.
Mr. Webster had moved to a new level of hatred toward Christ and His Church. A chicken was placed in front of the crucifix, making it look like the chicken is being crucified. Also, a figure of a monk with a pin stuck in his belly was added to the collage.

I found it interesting to hear they were praying for the “white U.S. Militia Members”. Too bad they are idiots and think all the militia members are racists that want to force all arabs, black people, and Jews out of the country!
It seems they are using the liberal talking points as well. It wouldn’t surprise me if that “plan for the power plant” is one of THEIR plans that will conveniently be blamed on the “right-wing militia” like the OKC Bombing was. A lawyer for the building owner said he had nothing to do with the rant by a citizen, identified in court papers as Rockford resident Keith A. Sterkeson, who allegedly expressed support for the clinic by insulting, hitting and shoving the protesters, and warning that his dog might bite them.
“You are a degenerate and empty skull, thinking Jesus is going to save you,” Sterkeson said on the videotape. “You’re a n-——. Your mother was a n——.”
The civil rights complaint was part of a broader suit already filed against the city, Webster and Sterkeson.
Protesters allege that Rockford has discriminated against them by not allowing them to place ads on a bus stop bench and by pursing noise complaints against protesters while ignoring Webster’s shouts and playing of rock ‘n’ roll music over the loudspeaker.

umm... he kept calling someone woman off camera ‘mom’. if she gets the abortion, she won’t be a mom. and if he thinks she is currently a mom, just by being pregnant, doesn’t that mean he sees the fetus child as a baby within the ‘mom’ instead of a lump of tissue?
