The United States said Monday it would donate 50,000 dollars in emergency aid to Italy after a powerful earthquake killed at least 100 people.

$50,000 is an insult.
They could have sent an iPod, or maybe DVDs
Maybe the President could use one of his weekly Wednesday night parties to raise a little “dough” for the Italians in need, or just forego serving that expensive beef to the Congresscritters when they come to call and use the money saved to help the rescue effort. $50,000, it’s an insult to even offer that paltry a sum.
This must be wrong .....
FWIW - Italy has “refused” aid for know. Not needed, they are well prepared for emergencies. They will likely need and want help later when the initial search/rescue/relief actions are completed.
The President must be taking courses from the Joe Biden School of Charity and Compassion.

Perhaps Italy did not offer enough troops for Afghanistan and this is his “gottcha” event.
That is a bad investment in my opinion.
The stupidity is making the public statement.
Either say nothing at all or offer something useful like emergency materials, blankets, clothes, tents, etc.
