“TMZ.com alleges that “there is no prenuptial agreement”

Funny how TMZ is yet to report Bruce Springsteen’s adulterous relationships and being named in a divorce action as the “other man”

Be forewarned, the Villages is also rife with STDs. Makes my high school look clean by comparison.

Actually, neither the number of years nor the number of children has ANYTHING at all to do with ‘lack of judgement’ in an annulment preceding. Again, the woman I know who got an annulment was “married” for 26 years and had nine kids. The Gibsons were married for 30 years and had seven children. I wonder if they were even properly married in the first place because Mel may already have been a sedevacantist at that time. If the wedding was performed at a sedevacantist ‘church’ then the priest in question would have lacked the proper faculties to perform a wedding according to the Catholic Church. This is one of the problems with SSPX and that’s not even a sedevacantist organization.

Would it make any difference if she was not a Catholic?
I seem to remember some article where he said that his wife would not be going to heaven because she was not a Catholic.

Some men do that and I do not fault them. One of our friends whose wife was also very sick for years and refused to see a dr. was remarried about 6 weeks after his wife's death. There are 2 other men who were friends who did the same. I think if you have a happy marriage you want to have that again but those who did not, seem to say, no way.

BTW, I lost my husband to liver cancer in 2006 just 2 months after being told he had cancer.

Frankly, it was none of my business what they did since they did not ask my opinion! :}

I guess I should also add that I only wetn through first communion and never finished catechism, so I’m not sure what my status is but I do consider myself Catholic

I’m sure a priest will help you with all your questions.

chris_bdba,

The 1st point is: nothing on earth compares to the reception of Holy Communion

The 2nd point is: yes, indeed, you can get through the process.

My wife & I went through annulment proceedings from our prior marriages. My sister recently went through the process to remarry. I am in an ultra-liberal diocese, and she is in a wonderfully orthodox diocese.

Just begin. Call the diocese to get the packet of information. It will probably take you close to a year, but if you & your husband approach this as a couple handing themselves over to God, desiring to do His will above all else, you will be strengthened accordingly. I will say a Memorare right now that you find your way into a Sacramental marriage.
