Tea Party Total Head Count Thread (Post Your Attendance Numbers Here)
Wednesday, April 15, 2009 | Kristinn

Posted on 04/15/2009 3:08:47 PM PDT by kristinn

I'm hoping to be able to ascertain an overall national figure of attendance at the tea parties today by asking Freepers to post their crowd estimates on this thread.

I'm also asking that the thread be kept to just the numbers, no photos, etc., but if you want to link back to photos in your crowd estimate that's fine.

Please give the location and number of participants.

I'll go first:

Melbourne, FL - 1000.

Awesome work!!

Per KS locale board, there was one in Pittsburg, KS, but I don’t have an attendence number. I am waiting to hear back from Freeper, Labette. I think it is safe to estimate atleast 250 for now (probably extra conservative estimate).

Correction on post 622. That should be New Iberia instead of Morgan City.

Here’s Morgan City, Louisiana - 300

http://www.banner-tribune.com/News/TEA.htm

Patriotism, pride, anger, fear — all of the above were expressed during the national TEA party event held Wednesday in Morgan City’s downtown Lawrence Park.
TEA, which means Taxed Enough Already, is a grassroots movement organized in more than 700 cities and towns across the nation to allow citizens to gather and express their frustration over the present state of affairs at the national level.
Organizers of the local event, which attracted about 300 participants and lasted two hours, said they were pleasantly surprised by the turnout.

We had about 1000-1200 at US 41 and Pine Ridge in Naples Florida ... According a friend who attended.

And more than 2500 in Ft Meyers where we were. They gave out 2500 signature cards, but I think after getting a good view there were probably 3000+ people there.

I would like to say that the Wichita Kansas T-Party had 3000 people, total, at least. It was hard to count, went on a long time, and people were coming and going.
