Washingtons Tea Party was beckoning all week but we had to settle for Westminster. [Mrs] T, Fraxinus and myself, [Mr] T, arrived around 6:10 and a good size crowd of about 100 was already there. A light rain was falling but nothing like in D.C. earlier in the day. [Mrs] T took off to start taking pictures, Fraxinus held his sign, and I started to put together my flag pole. Another Tea Partier came up to me and asked if he could hang his Dont Tread On Me on yellow background flag on my pole. Getting some plastic ties, it was quickly attached. He had no problem finding me when he was ready to go. But he did have a long walk to get to me as will be shown in some later pictures..
The Westminster TEA Party was held outside the Legends Café and was co-sponsored by Central Carroll Republican Club. Apparently the Club meets there for its meetings and IS a real conservative Republican group. Michelle Jefferson was the principal organizer. She got the Westminster mayor and a local Maryland senator to also talk. And rousing they all were after saying the Pledge of Allegiance and some songs.
There were a lot of good signs at Westminster as were at the other TEA Parties. All homemade by grassroots people, not like at the leftists protests where the signs are all paid for by astro-turf rich leftists. [Mrs] T got some good pics of them.
Being at the back fringe of the crowd so that my flags didnt block anyones view and so my cigar smoke didnt bother anyone, I talked to several people. They were all ready to go, to keep the current administration and liberals from ruining our great Country. [Mrs] T talked to one older lady who said she had to come out today despite her crippling arthritis in her knees and back. Fraxinus was seen talking to several civilian dresses young soldiers.
The Carroll County Times had a real good article in their Thursday edition. We had figured there were about 4-500 Partiers, but they said 700. Being a fairly conservative newspaper, I can believe their numbers. From the pictures, you can decide.
The rain let up before we left.
Before I start posting the the Westminster pics, below is our own 3DJoy who had her picture on the front page of her local paper. She in the white tea shirt and light brown slacks.
BELOW LEFT: Fraxinus with some Partiers. BELOW RIGHT: Me with my flag and the reverse side of the sign Fraxinus was holding. Our friend had already taken his Live Free... flag and left for the day.

BELOW: After the quick meeting and a call to action, we all went out to MD Rte. 140 where we received honks, cheers, waves and air horn blasts.

Meed to go. I’ll check in when we get back from Walter Reed.
Good job!
Yay!! Thanks for the photos!!
Does anyone know of a central location where we can post links to our Tea Party photo sites?
Thanks for the ping.
Can’t believe you showed that! My tea bag hat was well received!
Melbourne may be a small community but there were over 1000 people of all ages there. 3 events during the day and so total is much greater for the day.
Appreciate the kudos but we were just there and happy to report it on FR. The thanks goes to the Central Carroll County Republicans, some REAL Republicans. There are still some left in Maryland.
