If Mitt Romney is in, I'm out!
Declaration of Independence | April 30, 2009 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/30/2009 11:50:51 AM PDT by Jim Robinson

Yeah, I know. Said some similar things about Bush in 2000. But at least he was pro-life, pro-family, etc, and thank God we supported him over the idiot All Green Gore.

Said similar things about McCain in 2008. But when asked the question "when does human life begin?," and he unabashedly stated, "At conception, of course," I had to take notice. Then when he announced Sarah Palin as his running mate, I decided to support her. I voted for Sarah (and the white haired old geezer that came along with the package).

But Romney is a NO go. And I don't care who this socialist, abortionist, homosexualist, constitution trampling bastard picks for running mate. If Romney's in I'm out!

G.O.P., R.I.P!

I forgot to add you to my comment #256. I see that Finny addressed his comment to me to both you and EternalVigilance.

Also, Finny, again for the ?? time....I have not, did not, will not support Romney.

There is NO CHANCE of any Third Party ever having any power in this country.
It will not happen anytime in the next 10 years, probably longer.
Even if you COULD get someone elected to Congress -— what Committee assignments would that person have?

Politics is about POWER and if you are not willing to understand how power is won, how power is used, and how power is protected -— there is no point in politics.

If you wish to be effective, fight for Conservatives in the Republican Primary.

If you do not have the money, manpower or VOTES to win, in a Republican Primary, how will you EVER get the money, manpower and VOTES to win in a General Election?

I would say none of the above.. Rush may not have looked into it as much as Jim has.. we’ve seen a lot of information here.. (I also recall Rush saying Romney didn’t have one of the pillars- Social, not one issue, big difference)

You said yourself, they didn’t come out and outright support him, that negates the earlier statement that they where all for him... Politicians want attention, if they completely ignored him, that can also be construed as non support. Rush didn’t attack several candidates, that doesn’t mean he, by default, supported them. On the contrary, he may not have thought those he didn’t talk about, where worth talking about. If you consider how well Romney did in the primaries, he may have had a point..

“Fully agree, as the recent traitorous act by Specter points out, the fish(GOP) is rotting from the head.”

Specter needs to be booted out of both parties, in my opinion. He’s in it for the career, not principles and stewardship. Goodbye to bad rubbish.

I’m not in favor of Obama lite. Paraphrasing RR, RINOs are not the solution; they’re the problem.

We are still in April 2009. It is way too early to know who is going to be in or who is going to be out by 2012.

Yeah, but it's not too early to start weeding out sure losers like Romney from the "who" list. Jim Robinson is right: we need to start fighting against Romney NOW so that he's not in a position to drain and weaken the coffers and resources of truly worthy candidates down the road.

Sadly, Palin will go nowhere. She has NO chance of even competing with Zero... Mitt will be too old, he had his chance... Here’s hoping that someone like Pence or Barbour goes after the top prize.

"If Mitt Romney is in, I'm out!"

Jim I am with you on this one all the way. I'll go third party before I vote for another dang RINO.

I want to get behind a Candidate that would make the Gipper smile with fatherly pride.

Mitt ain't it!

Agreed. Not to mention the damage he, his campaign staff and fans will try to do (or continue to do) to Palin.

Sadly as usual you will support whomever the power brokers in the GOP decide you will support. Try reading my post again and looking at the context, I will decide later which candidate that I will support for the primary.

You might try reviewing Romney’s written and recorded record to get the truth straight from the horse’s mouth, so to speak. It’s all public material and readily accessible on the Net.

His first words when he took the stage were to bash Sarah Palin (he’s obviously scared of her). It was classless

You don't want Romney, that's fine... But why must you BLATANTLY LIE about it? You KNOW it's a lie, too... He was being self-deprecating by saying "Palin's getting $7million for her book... HE has to pay someone $7million to do a book on him"...

Yes, I saw that later as I continued reading the thread. It didn't come through to me, so I understand totally how EV came the conclusion he did.

My thoughts in the post that got you irritated were not directed to you personally; if they were inspired by someone else's misreading of your original intent, those are the breaks. I'm glad it offered the opportunity to make the point I did -- that a RINO can be worse than a statist Liberal, and Schwarzenegger is proof. My thoughts are directed not so much to challenge posters as individuals, as they are to plant seeds of thought among those who read them and fellow conservatives, and I hope I can count you as one. Likewise, I regard posts by fellow FReepers the same as I hope they regard mine -- ideas to be pondered and shared.
