It just occured to me that Obama is nothing more than disco was to music. Alot of people just loved it, couldn't get enough of it. Thought it was the greatest music ever. Loved to get out and dance....and then couldn't wait to burn the records...had parties and rallys where disco music was impugned and records burned. Flash in the pan music...unfortunately just like disco he will have some type of lasting effect...let's hope it is minor like disco
Yep. Bloody, amoebic dysentary.
Ah well, this too shall pass.
I often wonder what motivates people to go out and buy records such as Larry Verne’s “Mr. Custer” and America’s “A Horse With No Name”—two of the worst songs ever recorded, but chart toppers nonetheless, in 1960 and 1972, respectively.
The problem is, as much as anybody Works Hard for the Money, were just barely Stayin Alive.

But we certainly do hear plenty of “Jive Talkin”, don’t we?
so take me to a honky-tonk bar where I can hear me a steel guitar, Ill take country music any day!

Me too but only real country, Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzell, Marty Robbins, Hank Snow, George Jones, Merle Haggard, even Randy Travis. None of the late model crap please!
I take the second biggest act from the 70’s ...
ABBA VOULEZ VOUS

Yep, Abba actually did a disco song or two...
Alot?
Like an allotment?
Sounds almost like "a lot".
...and there’s no way to say “no thanks.” At least with disco, you had a choice to not go to the clubs, not listen to it on the radio and not by the discs.
I like disco...
But sometimes I like something a little heavier.

BookmanTheJanitor,
Did that just happen to be the night they blew up disco records?

yep...here’s coverage of that night. You get a good shot of that sign at the 5:00 minute mark in the video. Also, there’s appearances by a young Greg Gumbel and also Bill Curtis.
The White Sox owner was a showman.
Too funny.
i can’t help it i still like that stupid gloria gaynor song “I Will Survive”.and i have “The Rubberband Man” as a ringtone on my cell.
“hey charlie, duck your head....little bit late on that there charlie.”
“Hey, out there, kemo sabe!
In America, disco died, too metrosexual. Hmm, another resemblance to Obama.
