Obama Refuses to Pledge He'd Accept Health Care Plan Limits On *His Own* Family
Vanity comments on this ABC article ^

Posted on 06/25/2009 6:46:24 AM PDT by quesney

Elites often propose health care solutions that limit options for the general public, secure in the knowledge that if they or their loves ones get sick, they will be able to afford the best care available, even if it's not provided by insurance.

Devinsky asked the president pointedly if he would be willing to promise that he wouldn't seek such extraordinary help for his wife or daughters if they became sick and the public plan he's proposing limited the tests or treatment they can get.

The president refused to make such a pledge, though he allowed that if "it's my family member, if it's my wife, if it's my children, if it's my grandmother, I always want them to get the very best care.

The GOP is pretty lame.

Understatement of the year. The GOP should have a megaphone and be shouting what is happening. But we hear almost nothing.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for this to get legs. If a Republican were to bring this up, he/she asked if the administration would adhere to what we are suppose to accept, the government media would ask him/her if they would vow to go along with that policy. Typical do as I say, not as I do.

Peasant Care® (brought to you by your political elites):

It's good enough for YOU, but it's NOT good enough for them.

Shut up and shovel another load of cow crap, peasant! There's WORK to be done!

If the Republicans don’t run with this they are lamer than I thought.

Then I have to wonder how much you think, because they are lamer than I ever could have imagined. :)

Compare this thread with Steve Jobs Liver Transplant thread.

I want access to the same health care plan obi has for himself and his family. If I can’t have it, why not? Are they more important than my family?

I think we need to shove the “feudalism” concept to the forefront.

The more you examine the mindset of these fascists, the more you see that this is what they want for our country.

Nobles and peasants. They own and control everything, we live at their mercy.

Jeez, Republicans -- how much of a more clear-cut case of elitism do you need before you rake this bozo over the coals?:

“Now just exactly what would this thug’s “pledge” mean anyway?”

It means he would extend his health care plan to his illegal alien Aunt Ditsy (or whatever her name is) and his many brothers living in poverty in Africa.

Kudos, from the Greek κῦδος means "fame" and "renown" resulting from an act or achievement.

Imagine the most powerful man the world, huffing and puffing about protecting America and the world

but claiming helplessness in protecting the White House neighborhood public school to make it “safe” for his daughters

No one questions this logic. “safety” is not the major issue, regardless of what the democrats say

The demonstration of elitism won’t sway the core democrat, because they are all elitist wannabes at heart. They won’t be swayed until they discover that they indeed are NOT elite - but then it will be too late.

You may, however, sway some of the more ignorant who voted for “the cool black guy”.

Republican’s should try to ammend the bill to say “It is illegal for any and all government employees (including elected officials and appointed officials) to receive healthcare outside of the public system. And that their names need to be masked when put on a waiting list for when services are scarce. Any attempt to circumvent the normal process to get better or quicker care is punishable by at a minimum 10 years in jail for all those involved—even those that just heard about it and didn’t report it.

That should pretty much kill this garbage bill.

The republicans don't want to bring this up because they plan on using the same insurance Obama does, not the one you are stuck with. One day we will realize the republican politicians are for themselves before they are for us. They are all bums and should swing

You can guarantee if Michelle was to get breast cancer she would be getting the very best care money can buy...the rest of us? Go to any Breast Cancer support message board and read the entries from the women in Canada to find out how your wives, mothers and daughters will be treated. Year long waits for MRI scans, denial of specific chemotherapies, etc...

All these Liberals who think socialized medicine is such a great idea (especially the women) really need to re-think their position.

It’s very easy to sit there and talk about how great socialized medicine will be when you are healthy...but when you have Cancer and are fighting for your life...perceptions tend to change real frigging quick.
