From The Birthers, With Love! (Right Wing News mocks those who refuse to Kneepad for Obama)

Whether it's smacking down 9/11 conspiracy theories, the North American Union, or the Birthers, the freaks really come out at night when you start poking holes in their theories.

In all fairness to the Birthers, I understand that there are intelligent people of good will, who simply don't see eye to eye with me on whether Obama was born in the United States. Sometimes people, even people on the same side who see most issues the same way, just have to agree to disagree.

However, the kookier Birthers, I do have to make fun of -- just a little bit. There were 543 comments on my Townhall piece, 3 Reasons To Stop Obsessing Over Obama's Birth Certificate column, but this email that I received this morning may top them all in the entertaining looniness department (Emphasis in the original).

********* Mr. Dawkins -

I am a Massachusetts teacher who wants my students to know the truth. I respect Gregg Jackson because he has the moral courage to stand up for the truth no matter where it leads. Tragically, doing so cost him his job as a talk-show host at Salem radio.

It is fair to ask you, Mr. Dawkins, if TownHall or any other organizations with whom you are associated have you under some kind of gag order.

In other words, is your job in jeopardy if you come out on the side of truth?

I suppose it IS possible that you really do believe that "image" on the internet is a real, authentic birth certificate. But it's more likely that you are not that stupid. After all, seventh and eighth graders at my school are smart enough

Nope. Wrong again.

Nope. I'm not. If the President and Vice-President are removed from office then the Speaker of the House becomes president,

True. But the prescription for a Prez deemed ineligible to hold office, after taking office, is to have the Veep sit in for a short time until a new election can be held

Did they repeal the 25th Amendment and revoke the Presidential Succession Act of 1947 when I wasn't looking?

Ya forgot to mention the 20th amendment.

Section 3: If, at the time fixed for the beginning of the term of the President, the President elect shall have died, the Vice President elect shall become President. If a President shall not have been chosen before the time fixed for the beginning of his term, or if the President elect shall have failed to qualify, then the Vice President elect shall act as President until a President shall have qualified; and the Congress may by law provide for the case wherein neither a President elect nor a Vice President elect shall have qualified, declaring who shall then act as President, or the manner in which one who is to act shall be selected, and such person shall act accordingly until a President or Vice President shall have qualified.

Except that at the time fixed for the beginning of the term a president and vice president had been chosen...and were sworn in. After that the 25th Amendment and the Presidential Succession Law kicks in. If Obama is found ineligible then Biden is president.

If a President shall not have been chosen before the time fixed for the beginning of his term, OR if the President elect shall have failed to qualify....

Two options there, amigo.

Well, he was chosen. The Electoral College met and voted and everything. And at the time fixed for the beginning of the term Obama was determined to have qualified. So now what? If it turns out that he wasn't qualified after all then he's removed and Biden is president.

If what all of us crazy birthers say is true, he failed to qualify.

I watched them announce the results in the Senate and I watched them swear him in. Sure looks like he qualified. Now, if all you crazy birthers turn out to be true about his birth place, then Obama will be removed from office and Biden becomes president. But nothing in the Constitution or in the law supports your idea of a do-over election.

Yes he would be removed. But why? Because he failed to qualify.

If you write and sign a check, don’t mean it ain’t gonna bounce. The electors did not even consider if he was qualified. The rank marxists chosen to elect Obama would not have performed their duty.

No, because he would be found to be Constitutionally ineligible. It's after the fact. The election was held and the Electoral College has met and Obama is president. If he is removed from office for any reason - death, health, impeachement, or even ineligibility - then Biden will be president.

There is no time limit placed on “fails to qualify” in the 20th amendment, section 3. In fact, section 3 does not even mention the electors.

Sure there is. It's right here, "at the time fixed for the beginning of the term of the President..." Well, at the time fixed for the beginning of the term for President Obama was held to be eligible. If it turns out that was wrong then he gets removed and Biden is president. Just like the 25th Amendment says.

Re-read post 50. The time limit applies to “if the president shall not have been chosen”, not “the failed to qualify” clause. Hence, the OR

No, it's clear that the same limit applies to both.

I guess you didn’t have to breakdown many sentences in school.

Let me help you.

If the player’s name shall not have been been submitted on the roster before first pitch, or if the player has been tossed by the ump, then the manager must use a substitute player.
