Sotomayor Committee Vote Scheduled For Tuesday, July 28, at 10:00 A.M. / http://judiciary.senate.gov/
Contact your US Senator to Vote "NO" on the nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor.
- A brief summary of comments in opposition to the nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor.
(Why she is unsuitable to serve on the US Supreme Court.) Info & Links below...
IF the Judiciary Committee votes approval on Tues, then I expect they will announce their schedule for debate and a vote by the full US Senate.
Does anyone know if the full Senate will vote this week or next week, before the August recess? (The Senate calendar shows ... Fri Aug 7th as last work day)
The American People need time to discuss this important vote on the suitability and honesty (or lack thereof) of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to be on the US Supreme Court. The people also need time to communicate with their US Senators during the August recess. We dont need anymore of Obamas fast-track to nowhere.
The final vote by the US Senate should be scheduled for September, AFTER the August recess.

(From the same FR thread) - She reports a half million in assets, so shes lived on the other 3 million over the last 20 years, so its 150K a year in a very expensive city. She probably eats out more often than not.
This is a story with no substance.

Sotomayor Backtracks on Her Backtrack (Are Americans paying attention?)
Human Events ^ | 7/23/2009 | Erick Erickson // by SeekAndFind
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2299115/posts
Conservative activists are not paying attention to Judge Sotomayors written follow up to her testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee. During committee, she backpedaled on the use of international law in decision making. Having done a 180, she is now circling back for a full 360 degree turn to her original position.
This troubling flip-flop should give Republican Senators grounds to vote no. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has, in the past, stated that foreign law helps us know whether our understanding of our own constitutional rights [falls] into the mainstream of human thinking. Judge Sotomayor, prior to her Senate confirmation hearing, was on record agreeing with that statement.
~ snip ~ Unfortunately, no one is paying attention to the written follow ups on that testimony. Judge Sotomayor has now, in effect, totally recanted her original testimony. Republican Senators need to pay attention. ~

Sotomayor is one of the worst federal judges now serving. She has been reversed in 6 of 7 decisions, Her logic is and reasoning has been shown to be extremely poor. Her writings, speeches and presentations have endorsed policy making from the bench, ignoring the constitution in favor of international law, using race and gender identity to make decisions etc. Her testimony was dishonest and contradictory.
But none of that matters. She is Porto Rican and a woman(a wise Latina). That is all you need to know. Everything else is irrelevant. by detective (#6)

Firefighter Ben Vargas, who is Hispanic, told the Senate Judiciary Committee that Judge Sonia Sotomayor played racial identity politics instead of judging him and his fellow firefighters on their qualifications and the content of their character in a reverse discrimination case he brought against the city of New Haven, Conn.

Sotomayor: the abstract justice?
The Examiner.com ^ | July 21, 2009 | Mike Stollenwerk // by majstoll
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2298008/posts
Sotomayor was asked if she thought about the right to self-defense, Sotomayor said that she didnt know if that legal question has been ever presented and called it an abstract question. Contrast Sotomayors response above to Chief Justice John Roberts forthright look em in the eye and an answer the question approach at his hearing.

Abstract? More like perjury over and over again!

Behind The Polls: A Craving For Truth

Public Trust: Judge Sonia Sotomayor has record negative ratings, and the popularity of the president himself is declining. Americans seem to be getting tired of being looked in the eye and told tall tales. Youd never know it from her overwhelmingly adoring media, but Judge Sonia Sotomayor has the highest negatives of any Supreme Court nominee in more than two decades, with the lone exception of the quickly aborted Harriet Miers pick of 2005.
... Gallup poll... 55% of the public favoring her confirmation, but a high 36% opposing her =>> (comparing to previous SC nominees - read article) Rasmussen pollsters asked a more nuanced question: ...

wise latina bump.
There’s this thing called LOGIC. And there are operations such as “and”, “or”, “xor”, “not”, and the implication (if-then); using these well-defined and well-documented techniques on the language that is the law should be the number-one criterion for a USSC Justice position.
Without the ability to analyze the law, you have no idea what is being said. Without the ability to synthesize the logic, you cannot discriminate between the proposed law and what the Constitution says. (IE compare and contrast.)
I do not believe that this woman shows much logical ability above that of a teenager; this is especially true if feelings/empathy are used as the main criteria rather than an analysis, discussion/argument, and comparison-with-Constitutionality.

Thank you for taking the time to contact me. I appreciate the opportunity to hear from you.
Due to the large volume of mail I receive, I regret that I am only able to respond personally to inquiries from South Carolinians.
As we continue our work in the 111th Congress, I look forward to supporting our troops in the War on Terror, repairing our economy and creating jobs, strengthening Social Security, lowering the tax burden on American families, and making the federal government more accountable and efficient.

NO on Sotomayor - Read this & decide: (July 22, 2009)

~ ... On July 15, 2009, Dr. Richard Cordero, was a guest on my radio show. Dr. Cordero has been trying to get the seventeen members of the Senate Judiciary Committee to question U.S. Supreme Court Justice nominee Sonia Sotomayor on these issues:
1. The Committees questionnaire
2. Judge Sotomayors answers to it and her conduct
3. The docket of the DeLano case, 06-4780-bk, CA2
4. Statistics of the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts on the denial by the 2nd Circuit Judicial Council, of which Judge Sotomayor is a member, of 100% of petitions for review of dismissed judicial misconduct complaints during the 1 October 1996 thru 30 September 2008; a 12-year period.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Sotomayor has been a willing participant in a judicially run and tolerated bankruptcy fraud scheme. There is no hesitation on my part when I say that if given all the evidence, a grand jury would indict not only Sotomayor, but several other federal judges involved in this fraud.

Opposing Sotomayor is the Right’s Thing to Do - by Diana West - May 28, 2009 - Townhall.com
Last 2 paragraphs:
Such shallow, pointless politicking, devoid of philosophical principle, reveals the crisis in conservative circles: namely, the lack of understanding of what is required to mount the philosophical arguments against the leftist social engineering, as practiced by Sotomayor and as promulgated by Obama, that has derailed the lives of countless Frank Riccis, stripping them of the protections of the Constitution in the name of perpetual resentment and unslakeable grievance.
Making this moral, conservative case isn’t jumping off a cliff. It isn’t “bad symbolism” and it isn’t bullying. It’s leadership based on fundamental, core principles. We’ll find out if there is anyone left with any such principles when the Senate confirmation hearings for Sotomayor begin.

Reverse Discrimination
There is NO such thing as reverse discrimination.
Discrimination is just that, and it only goes in one direction. Ricci was discriminated against. Period. And for any judge to sanctify this is scary beyond words.

I am honored that you “linked” one of my posts. Thank you.

My five Questions:
5. Any chance that they will delay the Vote until Sept. / or Filibuster?
4. Any chance of Democrat defections?
* 3. Will the Senate vote Today? or ... (best guess, ...anyone know?)
2. Does FR care? Or, has everyone conceded?
** AND, No. 1. Does anyone care about the Devvy Kidd articles and info about Dr. Richard Cordero, on the evidence presented and the serious allegations made against Judge Sonia Sotomayor?
Is it good information that is being ignored? Or, is it a disgruntled bankruptcy attorney? (Dr. Richard Cordero - NY attorney)
