Birth of a nation: Too many Americans buy crank theory on Obama's citizenship
New York Daily News ^ | Saturday, August 1st 2009

Posted on 08/01/2009 1:38:58 PM PDT by presidio9

There's Red America, Blue America and Tinfoil Helmet America. And it looks like the third camp is enormously larger than anyone feared.

A new poll, commissioned by the liberal Web site Daily Kos found that fully 11% of Americans think that Barack Obama wasn't born in the United States. And another 12% said that they are unsure.

The doubters are heavily concentrated in the Republican Party, according to pollsters. An amazing 58% of the surveyed Republicans questioned whether Obama, in fact, entered the world in Hawaii.

What this means: Millions of Americans suspect or are convinced that Obama, son of a Kenyan father, is not a citizen and thus cannot legitimately serve as President. And no Hawaiian birth certificate or newspaper announcement from the time will convince them otherwise.

Who are these people? They're the ones whose feet are not planted on U.S. soil - or any soil.

If it was 100% that would mean the problem would be much less for Obama.

But if 42% of 22% of the population that has doubts is Dem and Independent, Obama really ought to probably release his long-form birth certificate.

You said — So you think it’s time to post the evidence of your deciets again. Okay, just keep spittling on and I shall do just that.

Absolutely nothing that anyone posts is going to change the fact that there is *no legal requirement* for a candidate to produce his birth certificate...

And absolutely nothing anyone can post is going to change the fact that the way to solve it is to get a state law passed that will make it required that a candidate produce his birth certificate or else he cannot be placed on the ballot...

Those are so obvious that there is nothing anyone can post about it that can change it...

BTW, obamanoid, I don’t believe the Republic will survive if your affirmative action figure liar-in-chief remains in offcie for four years. I realize you want him there for agenda purpsoes, but you have little regard for the Republic that he and his soros minions from communism are destroying. You’re a troll and most folks know it.

Wow, these Obamites are really firing. First they name us “birthers’ which rhymes with Birchers, and then they use the title of a movie about the Ku Klux Klan. Methinks they protest a bit much.

The media has outsmarted themselves. Their brainwashed idiots don't know enough American history to understand what they are talking about through these bromides.

other FReepers who seem to *always fight against* a state law like that...

One post constitutes your argument, that constitutes you incessant repetitive posts? (yes I know show one).

You are something else alright

What in the world is wrong with asking someone to be a good American sport, show his/her long form b. c., and settle an argument?

Mr. A signs the Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9 but he speaks with an accent. Just as a precaution he's asked for his long form b.c. He's a good sport. He turns in a copy of his long form b.c. to HR. They validate and everyone is happy. Simple

So why won't Obama be a good American? He most likely has nothing to hide so what gives?

I'll tell you! It's because he's a member of the 1960s Marxist-Alinsky hippie street rabble and their ideological issue (children like Obama)-cum-Rat Party (formerly the traditional, patriotic Democratic Party) and he has contempt for America and is attempting the murder of our "nation of laws not men." Him and his damn czars!

That's why.

(That ain't name calling. The Sixties Marxist-Alinsky hippie street rabble really have taken over the traditional, patriotic Democratic Party. Under the hail of "neo-con" taunts many Democrats fled the Party.)

Uh oh!

Now you’ve done it.

Star Traveler is going to be upset with you cause you posted that ‘proving you are qualified’ is in the Constitution.

I hope you can handle the ‘heat’..

:)

Me.. I just ignore the Troll!

"President Obama is my president. I watched him take the oath of office."

And you watched him break the oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.......

Doesn't matter where Barry was born....by his own admission he is not a Natural-born citizen.

And in case you — cannot follow threads — I’ll help you out here... LOL...

I said — “now perhaps you can help convince other FReepers who seem to *always fight against* a state law like that...

Then *you* — “Name one poster who is against that”

And then me ...

You apparently don’t know what’s going on with this issue... :-)

I knew you couldn’t figure out the problem with the birth certificate, but I didn’t know you couldn’t follow threads and responses... LOL...

-- Star Traveler is full of crap. She/He/It continuously populates these threads with FALSE statements such as we don't have a law requiring the proof of eligibility, etc. etc. --

Star Traveler (and curiosity) appear to have a mission to stoke the fever higher. Ignore them. The debate will carry on fine with them on the sidelines. In fact, their stated goal of tamping down the volume and heat of debate would be better met if they'd stifle their own urges to post so much. Their posts induce probably 10-20% of the birther traffic at FR.
