Bad Economy, Obama Fuel Rise in Militias: Report Fears of a return to anti-government violence of the 1990s

The election of America's first black president, fears of a secret Mexican plot to take over the Southwest and a painful recession have combined to fuel a rise in violent right-wing militias, according to a report by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
The leading civil rights group is not the only one worried that the country could be on the verge of another domestic terror attack by a lone wolf hatemonger or radical militia member.
ATF agent Bart McEntire tells The Associated Press that militia growth is the highest its been in a decade, with the American Midwest, Pacific Northwest and Deep South, in particular, a tinderbox of right-wing hatred awaiting a spark.
Last year, the Department of Homeland Security was roundly criticized for warning white supremacists and militia members could try to recruit military veterans to their violent cause.

Then discuss whatever you like at your weekly “neighborhood watch” meetings.
(Here in New England, there is little to no hope of ever forming a militia.)

The raising up of a straw man issue like this by the administration is simply a cover for increasing surveillance. If any of these group can be provoked into actions that justify the administrations claims, so much the better from their standpoint. I would imagine it would legitimize further government crackdowns. There might be someone very clever behind all this, or they bumbled onto this strategy by accident in a Inspector Clouseau moment.
Wasn’t all that many decades ago that posses were still common. Sheriff needed some volunteers to catch a thief or other malefactor, the neighborhood men and occasional woman would gladly grab their guns and comb the area. Now we have elite police that think only they are a barrier to crime.
Obama and his media minions are purposely trying to incite violence with their constant denigration and poking of people on our side. They are setting up the narrative and working very hard to get just one person to blow their top.
This is unbelievably irresponsible of course..but they don’t care. They want bloodshed in the streets so that they can cement their power. It’s is diabolical and evil...

If there is to be militaristic action, perhaps it should be aimed at the media outlets who report this kind of inflammatory false hate rhetoric.The label of hate should not be allowed to go answered.

Also, The Southern Poverty Law Center is a very far LEFT wing organzation. To quote them without question or concern shows a deep bias for NBC against the rest of us!

The Southern Poverty Law Center is a radical, left wing group. Isn’t it remarkable how the left has attempted to destroy the credibility/reputation of Militias! The founders thought very highly of militias. They were the people. Perhaps that is the reason leftists hold them in such contempt. After all, until properly trained and “educated”, the people represent a great danger to those who wish to rule the nation.

This constant villifying of conservatives reminds me of how Hitler started waging his campaign against the Jews. We all know how that ended... but perhaps need to take note on how it started.

No credibility with that organization. They’re the ones who successfully cajoled a jury to award an AZ rancher’s entire homestead and acreage to a group of illegals who said they felt “threatened” when he confronted them.
If the militia movement is seeing a resurgence, then the left owns the blame. This is what happens when governments marginalize large segments of the population. If their traditional voices won’t be heard or heeded, then they will speak through other, less traditional means. Either way, the voices will be heard.
