Obama Joker artist unmasked: A fellow Chicagoan (Ultra Liberal Behind Obama Joker Posters)
L.A. Times ^ | 08/17/2009 | Mark Milian

When cryptic posters portraying President Obama as the Joker from "Batman" began popping up around Los Angeles and other cities, the question many asked was, Who is behind the image?

Was it an ultra-conservative grassroots group or a disgruntled street artist going against the grain?

Nope, it turns out, just a 20-year-old college student from Chicago.

Regardless, Alkhateeb does agree with the Obama "Hope" artist about "socialism" being the wrong caption for the Joker image. "It really doesn't make any sense to me at all," he said. "To accuse him of being a socialist is really ... immature. First of all, who said being a socialist is evil?"

possibly the millions upon millions of people that socialists have murdered....

Well so much for the idea that the poster reflected the racial insecurities of white conservatives.

Yep,lol! Ya gotta wonder how all the libs, particularly the fools at LAWeekly, who've been shrieking that the image itself was irrefutable evidence that the person who anonymously produced it was a frothing-at-the-mouth white racist. feel waking up to the news that the artist is not a southern white yahoo but a Palestinian-American from Barack Obama's Chicago who prefers Kucinich but likes Obama and generally supports his policies.

The LA Weekly's money quotes?"The only thing missing is a noose." and later: "[R]ace was very much part of the illustration’s attraction."

And from the Washington Post, which actually takes the trouble to say that it's the image & not the socialism tag which is most egregious:

So why the anonymity? Perhaps because the poster is ultimately a racially charged image. By using the “urban” makeup of the Heath Ledger Joker, instead of the urbane makeup of the Jack Nicholson character, the poster connects Obama to something many of his detractors fear but can’t openly discuss. He is black and he is identified with the inner city, a source of political instability in the 1960s and ’70s, and a lingering bogeyman in political consciousness despite falling crime rates...Obama, like the Joker and like the racial stereotype of the black man, carries within him an unknowable, volatile and dangerous marker of urban violence, which could erupt at any time. The charge of socialism is secondary to the [image's] basic message that Obama can’t be trusted, not because he is a politician, but because he’s black."

LOL!

Heh-heh. The left was totally pwned by one of their very own.

...possibly the millions upon millions of people that socialists have murdered...

You're right. Socialism has killed millions of people. And yet, the effing liberal haters in our country never think of socialists as "haters"... odd.

It is delicious isn’t it?
I’ll be snickering over this one all day.

Your headline is wrong. He had nothing to do with the poster.

He created the image and put it on Flikr. Months later someone else, still unknown, further modified it, added the “Socialism” banner to it, printed it on paper, and posted them around LA.

It’s the poster creator, not the image creator, who deserves most of the credit. I seriously doubt *he* is a far lefty like this fellow.

So the left was blowing hot air out of their mouths again, trying to say that the poster was a racist plot by radical mobs of un-American Republican operatives.
As soon as it is found out that one of their own did it, the whole issue gets dropped from the media.

Four joker posters were seen in Elmhurst, Illinois, which is a western suburb of Chicago. They were 8-1/2x11 black and white copies so the full effect was lost a bit, but they are up there at a pretty busy intersection. The Web address infowars.com is on two of them ... the other two, the word socialism.

I agree with Quix-the following really is extremely will said! :

"The fact that this is even a story, much less an issue, shows a striking similarity between intolerance on the authoritarian left, and Muhammedan rage over a Danish cartoon."

This guy's mentality is about as "Chicago" as was Al Capone's.

Furthermore, he's a "senior history major at the University of Illinois".

WHAT?

Almost four years of studying history and he's doomed to repeat it when he grows up and finally votes?

His knowledge and opinions of the current political scene are schizophrenic to say the least. I'll bet he hasn't paid a dime of his own money for his education.

He has a Gaza Strip political mentality....self-destructive and masochistic.

He doesn't like Obommi the Commie but he likes Kucinich, the Kommie.

WHAT?

This guy is a Joker clone himself. It gives me the creeps to see what universities are turning out these days.

He, too, can be president of the United States some day.....and he probably will.
