Obama Administration: Depressed and Disabled Veterans Should Consider Foregoing Medical Care

Depression, disability, and "being a financial burden" could constitute "Lebensunwerte Leben" (Life Unworthy of Life) in U.S. Government end of life planning document

"The Death Book for Veterans: Ex-soldiers don't need to be told they're a burden to society" by Jim Towey in today's (August 18) Wall Street Journal says,

Last year, bureaucrats at the VA's National Center for Ethics in Health Care advocated a 52-page end-of-life planning document, "Your Life, Your Choices." It was first published in 1997 and later promoted as the VA's preferred living will throughout its vast network of hospitals and nursing homes. After the Bush White House took a look at how this document was treating complex health and moral issues, the VA suspended its use. Unfortunately, under President Obama, the VA has now resuscitated "Your Life, Your Choices."

We downloaded this document directly from the Veterans Administration, and the content suggests that both family finances and depression--a non-terminal illness--could constitute Lebensunwerte Leben, or "life unworthy of life." Smoke is generally indicative of fire and, although HR 3200 says nothing about mandatory end of life planning, euthanasia, or anything else similar to Germany's Aktion T4 program--the euthanasia program that served as a precedent for the Holocaust--we have shown (http://www.israpundit.com/2008/?p=16320) that there is indeed fire to go with the smoke. "Your Life, Your Choices" is simply more evidence, and it even suggests that war veterans with depression consider themselves a burden on the society that sent them to war.

Terri S was already dead. she had no brain except a tiny bit of brain stem that kept her heart beatings and lungs breathing. She was literally a living copse. No brain, no pain.

In fact when they open her skull it poured out into a jar.

And no her husband didn't murder her.

As far as her family wanting to care for her, try examining all the facts. that was IF they got a new house, and money, plus a healthy dose of taxpayers money as well. They weren't all that willing after they found out there was no money.

Allowing her body to die naturally was the humane thing to do. She wasn't Euthanized. If she had ANY brain function she could have ate anytime she wanted. The evidence of food in her lungs from those foolishly attempting to make her swallow was cruelty. It was attempted many times by rehab people to try retrain her to swallow many times over the years, but there simply was no brain function (no brain at all in fact)to make that possible.

I saw this..and it is just too stunning. I had told Ozzie that I feared this would come to the vets too..just trash us after 20 or 30 or more years of service and wounds incurred in Service of our country. Kick us in the dirt and give our survivors our flag.

Why ever not could people not believe this? This administration is all for killing babies that survive botched abortion, is really all for kicking the sick and elderly into an early grave if making their lives more comfortable or perish the thought, get them well. So for the vets who come home from war with wounds that require limbs or far more care, not to mention help for PTSD..why not just kick us aside too. Just look at all the $$$$$$$$ that would be saved in terms of not only medicare, tricare, tricare for life, disability payments..wow getting rid of veterans could really be a boon for Comrade 0bama...
Why if we were patriotic, we would just volunteer to kick the bucket for him. (sarc)
