The Biblical roots of modern science

Many atheopaths1 and their compromising churchian allies claim that biblical belief and science are mortal enemies. Yet historians of science, even non-Christians, have pointed out that modern science first flourished under a Christian world view while it was stillborn in other cultures such as ancient Greece, China and Arabia. The historical basis of modern science depended on the assumption that the universe was made by a rational Creator. The foundations of science rest firmly on the solid belief that the God of the Bible, the God of Issac, Abraham and Jacob, was a God of order. By observing His order and with study, God’s ‘rules’ could be found.

NO other ‘science’ has performed and done so much for mankind than the Judeo-Christian belief of the God of Creation.

The compass, paper, printing, stirrups and gunpowder all appeared in Western Europe between AD 500 and AD 1500.”

True. However, not one of these was invented in Europe. Most were Chinese inventions, with the location of the invention of the stirrup hotly disputed.

It is a fact that these inventions did not dramatically change the world until Europeans put them into use.

Nor has science flourished anywhere as it has under societies and governments strongly influenced by the Judeo-Christian belief system.

All other societies and governments are oppressive and inhibit freedom of all kinds.

Science owes much to Christianity and too many scientists today are too willing to spit in God’s face, or at least Christianity’s.

—Umm, is there any sane reason why anyone would believe the universe ISN’T orderly? If I drop a rock, it reacts in a certain way... if I drop it again, it does exactly the same thing. One doesn’t need to be a monotheist to realize that. That’d be like saying that without the Bible there’d be no reason to deduce that water’s wet.

—The ancient Romans used water power, such as the waterwheel, so I’m not sure what he’s referring to there. There were some advances to the waterwheel, but these advances occurred in Islamic Spain and were imported when that region was conquered.
The windmill was invented during Europe’s dark ages... but in Persia. Europeans finally began using it during the tail end of the dark ages.
The blast furnace was invented in ancient China, and finally used in Europe around 1500 (not really during the Dark Ages).
The stirrup was also long being used throughout Asia (China, India, middle east etc) and was finally adopted by Europeans.
