Well that’s where this gets a little sticky. Rush’s bid to buy the Rams was not rejected by the league. Dave Checketts dropped him from the group of investors he had assembled that was interested in bidding on the team.

They already did just that;

Not “sticky” at all.

Goodell and Irsay are both involed directly in the league and each took a position hostile to Limbaugh's interests and intentions.

I think someone needs to take a look at what the NFLPA has done, when, and why. Also take a look at Demaurice Smith’s election to head the NFLPA.

Why is it that someone who has said things that some may disagree with politically can't own an NFL franchise, but multiple convicted felons can play on an NFL franchise? Seems to be a double standard...

I may not be a "studet", but I know Ohio is a professor.

She's also a thoughtful conservative who is blessed with the ability to calmly debate people here that clearly don't know what they're talking about.

I can't say the same for myself :)

This whole thing is insane. And disheartening.

He’s classy, but he’s also a fighter. The only way to put a stop to this type of thing is to fight it and win big. I would think he’s got a good chance.

I quit watching the NBA when they rewrote the rules to accomodate Michael Jordan's antics.

I'm giving up the NFL because the of the racist attitude of the league.

I hope Rush sues too. Rush has excellent grounds for “tortious interference”, imho, if he doesn’t want to go the libel route.

There is a new article about this on FR written in a UK paper which is excellent. It seems we’re getting more truth from foreign sources than domestic - scary situation to say the least.

"Sorry, but Rush vs. NFL = Rush loses"

Too true. Rush is big. Those guys are bigger. Duh. Doesn't he remember the smackdown they gave him on ESPN.

He really desperately wants to be one of the cool kids, having his late-night cigar and scotch parties with unnamed bignames, jetting down to the caribbean, and so on.

But God bless him, that's not his lot in life. He's the best at what he does, and what he does excludes him from the "in" crowd.

Let's see how many Ford Tough Trucks they can sell to that [ race baiters and leftwing queers ] demographic.

Well. I guess you missed the gay marketing of cars on the superbowl and such.

I doubt people who buy pickups are going to choose Obama motors over Ford because of a sleight to Rush. And I doubt that average Joe, who's desperately searching from some release from his politically correct job and feminist wife is going to give up his 3-6 hours of escape on Sunday to support someone he listens to on the radio.

Tempest in a teapot, and the NFL/media hold the lid.

“NFL Commish Roger Goodell, who
I had thought was a man of reason and backbone.”

If you thought that, you must have missed how he did next to nothing to belicheck, the cheating bastard, when all that story unfolded. He was given a slap on the wrist instead of getting thrown out of the league. Goodell is a jerk of the first degree.

I concur with what many folks have already stated; but I feel a need to add my 2 cents ...

1) EXCLUSION RULE: If the liberals can exclude Rush from certain types of commerce, then they can exclude Christians down the road (I’ve read The Book - so I know where we’re headed)

2) SILENCE RULE: If the liberals can get away with castigating those who freely and openly express their views, then they can further squash freedom of speech (directly or indirectly, it doesn’t matter to them ... to liberals the ends always justify the means)

3) SIGNS OF THE TIMES RULE: This is yet one more clear marker along the roadside that a final, decisive stand is required ...

I say bring on the Patriots!

I just left a message again. I am furious. I am praying Rush will sue for all of us.

Seems the case in all we do - we can’t seem to win elections for our side either.

Wow. This is really cool.

I didn't ask for any assistence in arguing with this "plagarist" and "studet" but you came to the rescue anyway.

Thanks much, guys. :)

(I notice our resident expert on citations has disappeared. Must have to go to his high school today. It's almost Homecoming, and he might think he's going to be elected king. ;)

“Rush is considering filing a lawsuit if the bid is rejected.”

He’s just talking. He won’t file a lawsuit. Too hard to win.

“Glenn Reynolds had it dead on–to date, the conservatives that haven’t been hired have been in the academia and media fields. Now it spreads to not being able to own a business.”

Don’t kid yourself. Most of the NFL owners are conservative. What sets Rush apart is his outspokenness. When somebody is being stupid, he says they are being stupid. He’s not politically correct. The NFL owners are in the business of making money. They don’t want controversy.
