BREAKING: Dems Go Nuclear on Obamacare
HumanEvents.com ^ | 10/15/09 | Connie Hair

House Ways & Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) held a hearing this morning to certify that H.R. 3200 -- the main House Obamacare bill which was the subject of all the town hall rage in August -- has met all requirements to pass as a “budget reconciliation” measure.

Under reconciliation, the bill can be passed by a simple majority vote in the Senate -- just 51 votes -- and will be given preferential treatment on the House floor as well. The Dems have apparently invoked the “nuclear option” to shut out Republicans and ensure the bill is passed before the end of the year. (see link for more....)

An "armed citizenry" looks like a fantasy

No shit? Then perhaps you'll get on the train, get in line, and get in the shower before the "armed citizenry" will...

First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a communist; Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist; Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist; Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew; Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out for me.

I think the supreme court will be deciding the health care issue in the long run.

armed citizenry will still be forced into gov't health care eventually, as long as the looney tunes are running the country. I agree that Americans have the right to own guns. Unless enough people unite and use force, we're sitting ducks just watching America become a socialist/Communist country.

If you're tempted to respond, don't bother if you can't find acceptable English words to use.

Well, here it comes.

Act now or lose the country.

All this “Do it, and you’re a daisy.” stuff I’m hearing from the right is a joke.

The time to do something about this is right now.

If you wait until they’ve achieved its passage, well, they’ve achieved it already, haven’t they?

Think your beloved, and wimpy, Republican Party will make it go away when they take ‘power’ again? Not going to happen.

It’s defeated now or this country is history.

The idea that the founders had for this country dies with the passage of this bill. It’s over, and you will then live and work at the pleasure of politicians.

The ideals of the founders along with the constitution died a long time ago. I hope they fail to pass this beast and I have called, written, called, written...

It figures Rangel would do anything to make himself useful with all his ethics troubles. He is absolutely politically bulletproof in his district so he does not care about voter outrage, but others may pay the price.

The very moment they pass the bill using reconciliation, all GOP members of Congress must walk out and never return.

I don't see anything about that, in a cursory search of the internet.

It appears they intend to do it.

Do we? I sense it will be far more passive than Freepers would like to believe.

No way! I, for one, will double the number of snarky comments I post on the internet. I'm serious about that, and I'm not afraid either.

Double.

However, men like me are willing to die for our country.

Hopefully not, but hey: Is life SO SWEET that I am willing to live on my knees?
