READY TO REVOLT: Oath Keepers pledges to prevent dictatorship in United States
Las Vegas Review-Journal ^ | ALAN MAIMON

Depending on your perspective, the Oath Keepers are either strident defenders of liberty or dangerous peddlers of paranoia.

In the age of town halls, talk radio and tea parties, middle ground of opinion is hard to find.

Launched in March by Las Vegan Stewart Rhodes, Oath Keepers bills itself as a nonpartisan group of current and retired law enforcement and military personnel who vow to fulfill their oaths to the Constitution.

More specifically, the group's members, which number in the thousands, pledge to disobey orders they deem unlawful, including directives to disarm the American people and to blockade American cities.

“I’m still trying to determine how much Obama wants some kind of violence as a justification of taking further control.”

I’m with you. The NWO behind Charley MacCarthty no doubt foresees and is preparing for widespread violence, and is also prepared to use it as an excuse to declare martial law, which they in turn won’t be in any hurry to terminate.

We’re dealing with evil people here, folks.

Wondering with their arrogance if they even consider the need for justification?

I find it reassuring there’s a group like this. When push comes to shove, an armed populace has no chance against on out of control military doing the will of an out of control government.

Take notice how anyone who says they will protect the Constitution is labeled as an extremist and a radical, thats the scary part of this article imo.

rahm emmanual stated that they should never let a crisis go to waste. ozero is a self proclaimed citizen of the world and not culturally an American. He stated that he laments that the Constitution limits what they can DO TO the American people. It seems pretty clear that they are just waiting for a crisis, manufactured or not, to go after all the power. He is part of a crowd that believes that they are rulers and a revolution is needed for the betterment of all. But I really believe that their arrogance will be their downfall. There are enough American citizens who won’t put up with that. The Constitution is the basis of our legal system, and there have been assaults on it before. This time the assault is very visible which may be why it will fail.

How many of YOU are members of Oath Keepers?

Also, remember that Obama called for a "Civilian" army just as strong and well equipped as our constitutional army. This army will be used against people like you and me in our towns and neighborhoods.

Don't think that all of the record gun sales and shortage of ammo is all because of patriots.

If you are going to have a "Civilian" army, it has to be armed right?

I fear and pray for my country.

obama has plans to take full control of the United States. With or without violence. He will do a serious assessment sometime in 2011, probably in the first 6 months, on his chances of re-election in 2012. He will have most if not all of his assets in place to make his move. If he doesn’t like his chances of being re-elected, he will strike then. Should he believe that he has a good chance of beig re-elected, he wil wait. But the bottom line is that he plans on taking control of the United States. It is only a matter of when.

Since the Sheriff has nearly absolute authority in his given county, your statement is appropriate.

Mark Potok said. "But these kinds of conspiracy theories are what drive a small number of people to criminal violence. ... What's troubling about Oath Keepers is the idea that men and women armed and ordered to protect the public in this country are clearly being drawn into a world of false conspiracy theory."

"False conspiracy theory"?

Says who?

I have been watching presidential elections since 1972 and have never seen the American population go out and purchase firearms and ammo on this level as a result of an election. Happened for a reason. The American people deep down don’t trust this guy or his party and their media. Add to that, when our ecomony hits a downturn, crime rates go up. Traditionally, the dimrats coddle criminals.
Action leading to reaction.

I believe people can sense things, but don't always know what it is they sense, or how to logically explain it. Today, "something" bad is in the air. They can "smell it."

When there is a civil war, Zero can declare anything he wants. 90% of the people he would depend on to enforce it would be his enemies. His declaration of martial law wouldn’t mean zip.

This is the way they are ALWAYS described by the people who have everything to lose...

“They are alarmed at nothing so much, as attempts to awaken the people to jealousy and watchfulness; and it has been an old game played over and over again, to hold up the men who would rouse their fellow citizens and countrymen to a sense of their real danger, and spirit them to the most zealous activity in the use of all proper means for the preservation of the public liberty, as ‘pretended patriots,’ ‘intemperate politicians,’ rash, hotheaded men, Incendiaries, wretched desperadoes, who, as was said of the best of men, would turn the world upside down, or have done it already.” -Adams

Somehow I think that if the call was to round up Communists or disarm Muslims then Oath Keepers wouldn’t have a problem with it

1) If the Communist was ACTIVELY trying to eliminate the Constitution or the Muslim was trying to implement Sharia Law rather then following the Constitution than by all means YES “round them up”.

2) If the Muslim practiced his religion in peace and was armed to protect himself like the rest of the law abiding society than NO .

3) If the Communist was just expressing his belief, began his own commune with like minded believers, and functioned peacefully and independently than NO.

One can live as a communist in a Free Market society but one cannot live as a capitalist in a communist society.

“When backed into a corner, you have to fight.”

The most dangerous creature is one backed into a corner who concludes that he has nothing to lose by fighting.

Remember Winston Churchill’s words:

“If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly, you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance for survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.” — Winston Churchill

In the age of town halls, talk radio and tea parties, propagandistic newsmedia bordering on mind control, and socialist policies being pushed from the whitehouse, middle ground of opinion is hard to find.

Fear the time when they really DON’T see a need for justification.

At that time, they have surpassed the need for popular support and have passed into the realm of total control.

Re: County Sheriffs

I’ve read and heard various conflicting accounts of the Sheriff’s duties and authority.

In some cases, I’ve heard that it is the Sheriff’s responsibility to protect his county’s citizens from the Feds, and to make sure they act within their jurisdiction.

Other sources say that a Sheriff cannot and will not “interfere” with Federal law enforcement.

There are some that error on either side.

Those that say there won’t be elections are mistaken - all dictatorships have “elections” these days.

But those who think that those elections can actually change anything are more gravely mistaken.
