Sarah Palin To Go On Oprah, Winfrey's Fans Aren't Pleased

Having been shunned by the daytime talk queen before last year's elections, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has decided to finally go on "Oprah" in November.

As announced moments ago at Oprah.com:

In a world exclusive, Oprah Winfrey will interview former Alaska governor Sarah Palin for an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show to air Monday, November 16, 2009. Winfrey and Palin will meet for the very first time on the episode, which will mark Palin’s first interview to discuss her upcoming book, Going Rogue: An American Life and her first-ever appearance on the Oprah show.

Unfortunately, judging by some of the comments being left at her website, Oprah's fans are not pleased:

Boo. Bad move by Sarah. These traitors like Oprah need to be defeated, not appeased.

I think it's a great move. From the comments she's made over the last couple of months or so, she's shown she's not an appeaser. But she cannot defeat her opponents by refusing to engage them, either.

My guess is that she'll either chew them up, or win them over.

On a related note, do we know if Oprah is going to Sarah, or is Sarah going to Oprah?

No .. her fans fly in from all over the world.
They wait years for availability of tickets.
There are, of course, audience members from
Chicago.

Sounds, to me, like the paid Obot trolls are out in force... I base that on many, many, many pages of posts on Oprah’s site when she refused to have Sarah on before the election, I lost count at the number of posts that really, really slammed Oprah at the time.

I’m glad she won’t be hiring most people here on FR for her campaign manager, because none of you would expose her to the very people she needs to win over if she is to win....

There are lots of conservatives in the Chicago area-—just not enough. Oprah will protect her image and not allow any nastiness to go down on her show. I know when she did the Gore and Bush interviews in 2000, somehow people interested in those candidates got into the shows. The whole staging is very controlled, to protect the Oprah brand. There will be no Jerry Springer-style event with Sarah Palin.

Yes she can, and should. You don't quite get the level of deceipt behind people like oprah, obama, soros, etc.

Hitler et al were defeated on the battlefield, not over coffee. Not quite the same but principles are.

These people must be destroyed politically, not legitimized any more.

What can you expect by freeloaders that go to the show hoping they’ll ‘find’ something under their seats?

What a bunch of phony hypocrite feminists. The lot of them, including their supposed Queen of things female, Oprah.
Palin was the ideal all feminists were supposed to aspire to and achieve. A strong independant female/mother who didn’t stay in the kitchen. Educated herself and obtained one of the higest political offices in the country, including running as a VP for a presidential ticket.
And what do these phony feminist hens do? They stab her right in the back because she goes to church and promotes a culture of life. They even dissed her because she wasn’t an “ivy leaguer” and dares to shoot guns. What a complete joke. That’s what the lazy feminist movement has been hijacked by. Liberalism.
Now the feminist ideal is a “Sex in the City” lifestyle of one-night stands, abortion as birth control, single parenthood, fabulous shoes, and worshipping hypocritical media phonys like Maureen Dowd, Perky Katie, and Oprah.

I agree. What does Sarah have to lose, absolutely nothing. She is not a politician right now. She is speaking as a private citizen. Oprah isn’t going to come out with a list of questions such as “Ok, you have 1 minute, what’s the capital of Pakistan” or “Tell me what newspapers you read in alphabetical order” this will be a cordial interview. Oprah is a prick, but still a popular prick. Sarah can’t always go on shows with people who support her, too easy. Sometimes you have to get into the lion’s den to show what kind of strength you really have. It’s ironic though isn’t it, Sarah isn’t afraid to go on Oprah’s show but Obama is terrified of Fox News. Gee who looks more Presidential here

Feminism isn’t about women’s rights..its about LIBERAL Women’s rights. If you are a strong, Conservative, pro life, pro gun woman, you are hated by these so called women’s groups. They hate Sarah because she did not have an abortion. They see her with that beautiful baby and wish she had killed it. That is the hate, bottom line. Ask any of these hypocrite feminists why they detest Sarah so much and the first thing that will come out of their mouth is that she did not have an abortion

“Orca has been schooled as to what to ask...”

Nobody said that Sarah has to answer The Orca’s question, perhaps (smile) Sarah will answer some other question. Of course The Orca will try to stop her, but Sarah can handle herself. (More smiles)
