A noble and altogether proper sentiment, made somewhat less so by (a) reports of how much golf he’s been playing and (b) the inconvenient truth that there are troops in the field being endangered by the lack of reinforcements. I can only assume he’s defining “rush” here as “any speed faster than the speed I feel like going.” If not, then the obvious question — asked a thousand times but still unanswered as far as I know — is why this strategic reassessment wasn’t undertaken when he decided to replace McKiernan with McChrystal earlier this year. Especially since Bush’s own assessment last year provided “helpful” information, per Gibbs’s own admission.
According to ABC, it sounds like the new yardstick for “rush” is anytime before mid-November:
Sources tell ABC News that as of now President Obama will likely announce his decision about a new strategy in Afghanistan at some point between the Afghan run-off election, November 7, and the president’s departure for Tokyo, Japan, on Wednesday, November 11.
There is a chance the announcement may be delayed until the president’s return from the Asia trip on Friday, November 20, but as of now the plan is to have the announcement in that window.
Sources emphasize that no decision has yet been made, but as of now it looks as though the president is leaning towards sending more troops to Afghanistan, though not as many as Gen. Stanley McChrystal requested, 40,000.

One of the most incredulous/disingenuous lines from the Obamabots about his obvious, politically (domestic consumption) motivated dithering is that this is good compared to Bush/Cheney “rushing” into Iraq. IIRC, this “rush” involved more than a year and 14 UN Security Council resolutions! Yet, somehow, the media - even including “conservative” George Will (whose bowtie must be cutting off circulation to his brain!) - seem to just nod in agreement that Obama is wise and “prudent” to “take his time”. Meanwhile, they completely ignore the fact that he came out with an announced strategy 6 months ago, sacked his commander in Afg’stan and specifically put in McChrystal to develop and carry out the strategy that he is now having to “think about”.
It’s completely clear - to anyone with an IQ in triple digits - that the Messiah is feeling tremendous heat from his moonbat base and that he simply wants to delay sending the troops until after the election.
Wow. So he’s implying that he knows more about combat and military strategy than General McCrystal, who apparently wants to just rush in more troops so they can get killed?

That could very well be the case. I think he is waiting for something else myself, what, I have no clue. Given there are so few Republicans in Congress, it is doubtful they have a clue what is going on either. But there is a reason why he is waiting and it is not about his NOT rushing to make solemn decisions. He has made plenty of those decisions in a blink of the eye all for the tearing down of US as the superpower.
The most curious aspect of all these mind games he is playing on US is the lack of leaks regarding what he and his crew are plotting and planning. I mean under President Bush, lord McCain made himself the biggest thorn in every ones back side and that lord McCain left WDC when President Bush left.
And yet, I'll leave those troops that are already there to get slaughtered. But afterall I'm being prudent & wise /s
