Scozzafava Endorses Democrat After Dropping Out of N.Y. Congressional Race
Fox News ^ | 11/01/09

Republican Dede Scozzafava endorsed her former Democratic opponent Sunday in the race for an upstate New York congressional seat, one day after Scozzafava dropped out of the contest.

Scozzafava dropped out after Conservative Party candidate Dough Hoffman experienced a late-in-the-game surge. But on Sunday, Scozzafava backed Democrat Bill Owens -- the announcement was made in a statement send out by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

"I am supporting Bill Owens for Congress and urge you to do the same," she said. "In Bill Owens, I see a sense of duty and integrity that will guide him beyond political partisanship. He will be an independent voice devoted to doing what is right for New York. Bill understands this district and its people, and when he represents us in Congress he will put our interests first."

Now if that doesn’t tell everyone exactly what they need to know, I don’t know what would. I’m delighted she did this - she drew a line that GOP leadership has yet to bring itself to draw.

Did you hear what she said, Boehner? Or are you still too busy trying to prop up that big tent?

Keep kissing Hannity’s @$$ because that’s the only gig you’ll ever get.

I don't know which makes me turn off Sean's show quicker: some 'rat-demographic boob from Anyurbancity USA or Newt Gingrich.

You should go to his blog...people are putting it to him.

http://newt.org/EditNewt/FeaturedBloggersDB/tabid/193/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/4629/I-Am-Endorsing-Doug-Hoffman.aspx?GroupId=0

To him it is no big deal...He will just go on Hannity and speak down his nose at us idiots and act like it never happened.

Meanwhile, he will ask you to buy his and Callista Gingrich’s newest book.

She’s up for reelection to the state Assembly next year. Primary her!

You got a map of her district. I'm feeling mean and might be willing to rent an apartment.

My sister teaches school in this district (a real conservative who drives to school every day with Bush/Cheney bumper sticker on car!)and says that the New York teachers Union endorsed Scozzafava......now that should tell you something about where Scozzi stands on issues.

Well, I'm glad the the GOP has endorsed Hoffman and have placed whatever is left of their resources to his campaign. But better late than never.

There is no question that they were wrong and were sucked in, and they are going to pay a price for it.

The election in on Tuesday and in the meantime, Scozzafava is unmasked. She may as well change party affiliation now.

The positive outcome is this: in Hoffman, the GOP has gained a conservative Republican who has never left the party and who will be representing conservatives, and caucusing with like-minded Republicans in Congress. The effect of Hoffman's election will have repercussion on the nation level, and sends a tremendous message to the GOP to take the party back to its conservative principles set forth by Ronald Reagan, just as Hoffman has said many times.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Zero appoints her to a position in his administration.

Don't know about that, but according to Politico she was being "persuaded" by the White House, Scozzafava Endorses Owens.

.................Scozzafava’s decision comes one day after she abruptly suspended her campaign -- and since then, the White House had been persuading her to come out in support of Owens. In addition, New York Democratic sources tell POLITICO that Attorney General Andrew Cuomo also played a role in convincing Scozzafava to endorse Owens. ...............

given that I live in the Peoples Republic of Michigan

My sense is that New York is politically identical to Michigan. Cities liberal, country conservative. This is a very, very rural district (think upper peninsula), so I'd still give Hoffman the edge.

People would be amazed at how conservative the small SW New York village I grew up in is. Palin is a heroine there. Unfortunately the entire of Cattaraugus County has about the same population as the West Side of Buffalo, so the voting impact isn't very large.

Confused look.... errr... I have never questioned Hoffman’s allegiance. But maybe that is because I am not Mojave, lol.

>> I demand a public apology to the people of the United States from Pete King <<

CONGRESSMAN PETE KING (RINO-NY) RESPONDS:

Bwahahaha!!! Are you kidding me? I can get away with WHATEVER I want!! I am the lone RINO in Congress TOTALLY immune from repercussions, even though I'm in a GOP majority district that voted AGAINST Obama. I've been stabbing conservatives in the back for the last decade and a bunch of freepers still LOVE me!! Arlen Specter voted "not present" so he could quietly acquit Clinton and freepers never forgave him. I worked my butt off to save Clinton's career and a bunch of freepers still LOVED me! Lindsey Graham urged McCain to pick Lieberman and freepers responded by demanding his head on a platter. I pushed for Lieberman as veep just as forcefully and many freepers still LOVE me! Any outspoken "conservative" who touted Rudy for President actually got BANNED on FreeRepublic. I touted Rudy throughout the primary AND trashed every conservative candidate for President -- and you guessed it, a bunch of freepers still LOVE me!! Newt Gingrinch is far more conservative than me and his career is OVER for promoting Scozzafava. I was even more forceful in promoting Scozzafava and a bunch of freepers are gung-ho to re-elect me in 2010! Suckers!! I can't believe how gullible the freepers who support me are. They let me do ANYTHING. Watch this: I, Peter King, hereby endorse Bill Ayers for Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Jeremiah Wright for Chief Justice of the Supreme Court!! Whatta guys gotta say about THAT?

FR'S PETER KING FANS SAY:

Go Pete Go.... Pete King 2010, baby. He's pro-life and anti-illegal alien ya know. That makes anything else he does OKAY.

And you thought Hoffman lied about his allegiance?

Now they've both betrayed the Republican Party.

What was the GOP or Newt's endorsement of her about in the first place?

Zero: "Newt endorsed Scozzafava!"
Hill: "Oh no, he didn't!"

I knew yesterdat that this was coming. I could just sense this was her next move. It makes perfect sense. RINO’s are, as Mark Steyn says, “DIABLO’s.” Democrat In ALL But Label Only.

This should once and for all be the impetus to sweep the Steele’s, Gingriches, and other party “leaders” OUT of positions of authority. REPLACE THEM ALL. And while they’re at it, take David Brooks, Peggy Noonan, Kathleen Parker and their ilk WITH you to the Democrat party.

Conservatives living in New York may now finally realize the Republican Party in that state does not share their conservative values.

I don’t think it will be the kiss of death for her, any minute now she will change parties. She was a dem in RINO clothing. Good riddance. I am sure her and Arlen will be fast friends.
