Scozzafava Endorses Democrat After Dropping Out of N.Y. Congressional Race
Fox News ^ | 11/01/09

Republican Dede Scozzafava endorsed her former Democratic opponent Sunday in the race for an upstate New York congressional seat, one day after Scozzafava dropped out of the contest.

Scozzafava dropped out after Conservative Party candidate Dough Hoffman experienced a late-in-the-game surge. But on Sunday, Scozzafava backed Democrat Bill Owens -- the announcement was made in a statement send out by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

"I am supporting Bill Owens for Congress and urge you to do the same," she said. "In Bill Owens, I see a sense of duty and integrity that will guide him beyond political partisanship. He will be an independent voice devoted to doing what is right for New York. Bill understands this district and its people, and when he represents us in Congress he will put our interests first."

Hopefully the rino’s will be forced to join the party they already agree with in spirit and the conservatives will be left to make the GOP the party it once was. I left ‘em a couple years ago and didn’t figure I would ever be back. Let’s see what the next year brings.

I agree. I think electorally this will only help Hoffman ... the competitor had an R next to her name. Now it is crystal clear who the conservate AND Republican choice is.

Funniest thing I have seen in a while.

If she really wanted to help the dims, she would have stayed in the race to siphon off votes.

We may be stuck with having rinos at election time we actually need them than, but never ever again in a leadership position.

Why so surprised? Typical RINO modus operandi.

To Gondring: Looks like I was right the first time.

I'm tired of this RINO. People in the NY-122 should start raising money to back a true Goldwater/Reagan conservative in that General Assembly district for 2010. We did it for Hoffman, and we can do it again. I encourage those in townships inscribed in the 122nd to start looking for candidates to challenge her in the primary.

Time to make RINOs politically extinct.

Exactly, I don't think scuzzy had any credibility left with her voters at all. If anything this will help Hoffman.

Thank you.

DoDo’s running out of room for all her endorsements on her Hillary pantsuit. I’ll need to be more creative for the next few.

Believe me, I’m eating my own words as well. I was actually pleasantly surprised at news that she intended to support Hoffman, and said so. But, as is typical of the RINO/DIABLO, she eschewed the conservative, once it became clear that she wouldn’t win.

Let's face it Newt comes up with some great logic especially in areas such as energy. But, the plain simple truth is that he needs to be locked up in a think tank room with someone responsible holding the keys.

Kudos for Palin for endorsing Hoffman early in the race. Keep an eye on all the rino’s jump on the bandwagon now.

Kudos to Newt for knocking himself out of any contention for a presidential run. He may have been conservative at one time, but all he is now is just another rino.

Kudos to Steele for showing how completely incompetent you are to lead a party that is supposed to be conservative. Hopefully, this will speed of the process of find his replacement.

Evidently the big tent meme doesn’t include liberal republicans supporting conservative republicans. What a surprise!

I’m staying republican until after the primaries - I have to vote against RINO Charlie Crist - after that I’ll be a proud independent!

Ping.

I'd like to apologize to you for an earlier post response to you on a different thread. I was full of ire and believe it came off rather rudely.

I do appreciate your ideas and will respect your beliefs. I just disagree at winning at all costs. If the Republican party believes they need to become liberal to win then there's no point (for me) to support the GOP.

Kind Regards.
