Man charged with statutory rape in ‘marriage’ to 14-year-old girl.
The Kansas City Star ^ | Nov. 09, 2009 | CHRISTINE VENDEL

Posted on 11/09/2009 9:04:40 PM PST by MissouriConservative

Vincent Mosby signed a marriage contract and paid a dowry in a religious ceremony in August, police said.

Mosby, 23, of Kansas City didn’t legally wed his 14-year-old bride, however, because Missouri law won’t allow it without a judge’s order. Police said she was pressured into the union because her mother and stepfather thought she was going to be sexually active with a boy her age.

Police said the girl’s stepfather and mother became concerned that she was going to become sexually active, so the stepfather allegedly approached Mosby about marrying the girl. The girl was “strongly encouraged” to wed Mosby, police said.

The stepfather, Mosby and the teen had several “sit downs” before the stepfather arranged for a religious ceremony on Aug. 4 at her home, not far from the stepfather’s mosque.

Two members of the mosque attended, but the bride “was not allowed to be present,” court records said. She waited in her room upstairs. Her stepfather allegedly came upstairs after the ceremony, which consisted of prayers and a contract signing, to announce that she was married.

Can we posthumously try the “Prophet” Mohammed for statutory rape and crimes against humanity (his genocidal mass murder of a Jewish tribe in Medina)?

Of course...after all, if they're ok with setting up housing to run a house of prostitution using children who were smuggled illegally into the US then why wouldn't they be ok with parents marrying off a 14 year old to a 23 year old by contract?

“The contract also notes the dowry the girl requested from Mosby — a watch and ring, which he told police he bought at Wal-Mart.”

My money says he stole it from Wal-Mart.

OOoh, OOh! I love this game, can I play?

Let's see how far down the article they bury the name of the man's faith... It's kinda like an article on a liberal being charged with yet another crime - Republicans are outted in the headline, liberals down at the bottom...

Let's see.. ctrl-f, Muslim... Oh, man, down all the way at the bottom, and not actually directly connected to the perp. Dang it, not sure how to score this one... Did they not mention it at all, which is five points, or does using oblique references count for the 3 point score, and should there be a penalty of a point at least for using mosque so prominently...

Aside from the sarcasm, it absolutely looks like the editor ordered the writer to not make the man's religion an issue in the article, and the author took every opportunity to bend the orders from that prick into a nice shiny bow to keep under his kilt.

I am sure it is more of a strategic thing. An “enemy of my enemy is my friend” sort of thing. Myopic to be sure but they are hoping to just “use” the Muslim radicals until they can wrest control firmly into their hands then they will become more “ Right Wing” or anti-Muslim than they accuse their opponents of. The Obama Presidency is a sort of test run.

I went to school with a couple of girls (1 year apart) whose father (not muslim) took them to Utah (when the marriage age was still 14) at 14 and 15 to be married off to Marines so they would be “pure” on their wedding night.

Both girls were divorced by the time they were 20.

I think the KC cops did the right thing. Otherwise, it’s a capitulation to Sha’ria law.

I detest ragheads but I do feel sorry for the women and the kids, especially the girls. Their law is barbaric. There is no redemption, no grace, no respect, no kindness or gentleness or genteelness. It is an organized brutality whose only product is hatred, coercion and violence.

Pray for this little girl.

There’s a long antiquated history of arranged marriages in western Europe and even sporadically in America. But these arrangements, unless it’s for strictly political purposes among the higher classes or for financial reasons, great care was taken to make compatible matches and a time period of courting was allowed to see if the personalities and character would be a good match. Given the limited opportunities of the time for exposure exposure to suitable mates and the greater control parents had over the children, this was a largely successful custom. It worked for thousands of years. But what the muzzies do is brutally different. The girl has no say. She is mere chattel, nothing more.

The more bits and pieces of western culture muzzie women are exposed to, the better off they will be in the very, very long run.

God bless them and give them strength. May they gradually find the freedom and the outlets to express their talents, abilities and pursue their dreams.

My Italian grandparents’ marriage was arranged.

Their little town had maybe 10 family names, so one of the reasons for arranged marriages was to avoid inbreeding.

There were no cars, no electricity, and no telephones in their town when they were growing up.

They had six children and were married for 68 years before my grandma died at 87. Grandpa died a few years later at 97.

I work with a ministry to women who want to leave polygamy here in the US. In most polygamy (esp FLDS) groups, women are still treated like chattel and have no say. I know several women who had the same thing happen to them.

It still isn’t just the Muslims, although they do it on a grander scale.

You wouldn’t miss it if you never had it. But now their home town is all modern. At the end of the WWII, the Americans rebuilt it.

After the Americans pushed the Nazis out, the American servicemen of Italian descent were going door to door with family names looking for relatives, and many were successful. The mayor of the town called a week-long feast to celebrate the reunification of the families.

Needless to say, the Italians are always looking for a reason to sing and dance.

I love Italians and Italy - everything about them, their country and their culture. I even like the Mafia, lol! My best friend is a dago. ;) Italians are a magnificent, handsome people.

There is a saying that I like, relating to travel:

“If, when you die, you have been bad, you will go to a place where the French will greet you, the British will feed you, the Germans will entertain you and the Italians will organize you. But if you have been good, you will go to a place where the British will greet you, the French will feed you, the Germans will organize you and the Italians will entertain you.”

LOL!!

I’m a 1st generation American.

Grew up in a mixed neighborhood, where there were a lot of folks of different ancestries; Irish, Italian, Jew, French, Greek, Spanish, even a few English here and there.

We all had names for eachother. I was a wop, greaseball, guinea, and the other ancestries had names, too. Once in a while, there’d be a scrap over it. But mostly, we just played ball or hockey and called eachother names, whether we failed or succeeded.

But kids from other neighborhoods could NOT use those names on our friends. “Hey, you can’t call him that. He’s a wop, but he’s MY wop!”

Sounds like fun. It seems like people of European descent aren’t thin-skinned about such things at all. All this “sensitivity” about ethnicity is absurd. Italians and Irish are particularly unconcerned about it.

LOL!!!

My sister married an Irish guy.

My dad used to have a lot of fun with him. They became good and fast friends. My dad used to tease him by introducing him as “Baccala”, an Italian pun on his last name.

He’s a great guy, and exactly what my sister needed. She’s a high-strung Italian, and he’s an easy-going Irishman.

My sister and he are STILL married, 36 years later.

My Italian uncle says he’d rather live next door to an Irishman than an Italian, ANY day.
:)

The French in our neighborhood weren’t really frog french, they were French Canadians, so they were called C’nucks and Herring Chokers.

Yes, Europeans seem to be impervious to name calling. After centuries of fine-tuning their various characteristics into pejoratives, why cast such rich traditions aside?
:)

I worked in a black funk band. I was the only white guy. They used to even call me n****r. Made me feel right at home and part of the clan.
LOL

I wish we could turn back to those days.

“I wish we could turn back to those days.”

Agreed. People used to laugh at this stuff. The commies have made millions of all too willing people (mostly losers in one way or another) “sensitive” about such things. Of course, nobody knows WHY we’re supposed to be “sensitive” about ethnic references. If you ask, you get some unintelligible psycho-babble about “feelings” and “self-esteem” and “victims”, on and on, ad nauseam.

> “self-esteem”

When I was growing up, we had self-RESPECT.

Respect is the result of ACCOMPLISHMENT!

“Self esteem” is vanity, based on NOTHING.

It’s just another word for “NARCISSISM”, from whence I believe we got the word “SISSY”.

“SISSY” was THE WORST pejorative by far.

No ethnic pejorative came near. It was ALWAYS a fighting word.

Yes, all true. If one boy called another a “sissy” in our neighborhood, a fight generally ensued. Even we girls didn’t like to be called “sissy” or “sissy girl”, although we didn’t has physical fights over it since we were being raised with feminine dignity, something also lost today. Now music is written about “ho’s” and these young women seem to like it fine. When I was growing up, the worst thing you could call a girl was a whore. Calling a girl such a thing brought a visit from her father to the father of the perpetrator of the insult. That’s when it was expected that there was a father.
