Someone at the RNC Must be Fired Over This.

Let’s keep this simple. Word got out today via Politico that the RNC’s health care package for their employees covers abortions. At the risk of belaboring the obvious, if you at any time have donated to the RNC since 1991 (when this policy apparently took place), some incremental portion of your donation went to the administrative costs of running the RNC, including employee salaries and benefits packages. Part of “benefits packages” in this context is apparently a health care package that pays for abortions.

For thirty years, we have fought tooth and nail to prevent our tax money from being used to pay for abortions. Turns out, we were apparently doing it through donating to the political party that was ostensibly on our side. This betrayal is so fundamental to the majority of people who donate to the RNC that it’s almost unspeakable. I have no doubt that many of the staffers there will miss the point, so allow me to make it clearly: you have caused every person who donated to support your livelihood to become involved in what they perceive to be a grave moral evil.

Sheesh...they didnt even know they had such coverage...it’s never paid out a claim for an abortion...and it WILL be rectified...

It was probably part of a coverage switch and no one caught it...

OR some smart ass liberal at cigna inserted the coverage as a gotcha...

Either way...dont fly off at the handle...that is the entire purpose of the article...it’s Liberal agit-prop...made to elicit the reaction seen above...

I know that politically I should stay in the republican party, but I don’t know if I can stay a member of a baby killing party. They are actually providing for the death of children in their “health” care package. I guess I have to officially change the name to the RNC death care package. This is beyond belief.

Just asking a question....

Could it be that the particular State(s) that the RNC provides employee medical insurance in requires a policy type that includes covering this service abomination ?

That’s my thought as well... Many states REQUIRE certain coverages and riders for any and all insurance policies sold. Just another reason why cross-State policies must be allowed.

But I guess it’s more fun to whip ourselves into a frenzy...

Health "care". The murder of babies and the word "care" shouldn't ever be allowed to be linked. As for the RNC, they will never get money from me and neither will, of course, the DNC. Any money I choose to donate will go directly to specific candidates.

I’d say this revelation goes a long way toward explaining why abortion laws didn’t change while the RNC controlled both the executive and legislative branches.

Let’s face it. The DNC and RNC are more alike than different.

I have no love at all for the RNC but I’d wager that no one working there has much control over what is covered in their health insurance.

Like most businesses and organizations, they probably contract an insurance company to administer the health plan, and have nothing to do with it aside from writing checks.

Amen!

Wait a second. I'm not saying you cannot be upset at this, but aren't we just playing into the hands of the RATS who are looking to undercut the Stupak amendment? You know this is going to lead the news just as Larry Craig led the news just as Mark Foley led the news just as Bob Livingston led the news just as Bob Packwood led the news... The media and the RATS love to call us hypocrites and we're usually only too happy to scream it louder than they do.

The bigger we make this out to be, the more we hand the issue over to the RATS. The smart move is to say it's disgusting, and that the policy was done almost 20 years, the provision was not included at the request of the party, and is being taken out immediately. End of story.

Any media cretin or RAT who wants to blow this into something huge and demand to know why no one at the RNC knew the provision was in the policy should get smacked back with, "Well this is the problem when you don't read things closely, so you can imagine how truly awful the things are in that massive health care bill that all those Democrats voted for but did not read."

Uh Dudes!

Before everyone goes ballistic, what are the coverage laws in the state that the RNC buys insurance??

Just about every state, and now the fed gov’t, mandates certain coverage for certain needs, which the insurance carrier and recipient can’t opt out of.

If your state says you must cover accupuncture, you are forced to buy insurance coverage that includes accupuncture.

What does the RNC state mandate about abortion????

I would have agreed with you last year, the last time we were divided we got 8 years of Clinton, but this is a different time, we have the momentum, look at what we accomplished with the Tea Parties.

I believe we have enough time to force the GOP to join us instead of them continuing to make us compromise because we are too afraid of the alternative. The GOP has the same disease that all of Washington has, they either have forgotten who they work for, or, they just don't give a damn. For the first time since Reagan left the White House we have the power. The GOP has nothing now, we need to make them join us this time.

Don’t EVER donate to the RNC or any other Republican source that will eagerly take your money and funnel it to RINO’s.

The Republican establishment likes their “establishment” (read NOT conservative) candidates.

It’s not hard to find out who the conservatives are and give directly to them, the internet is a wonderful thing. If we all do our jobs right Michael Steele will be looking in sofa cushions to fund his next RINO.

Don’t you dare even even hint at a 3rd. You MUST play with the loaded dice already on the table. You can’t win if you don’t play.

This is not so surprising when considering that the RINOs are in control.

Sorry, you got punked! This is the RNC’s own private insurance plan for their members. Many private plans cover abortion in the fine print, which almost nobody reads. Most people look at price and coverage for things they might need and don’t even pay attention to coverage that doesn’t apply to them. Frankly, I don’t know if my policy covers abortion. I’m a guy, so never even looked at that part of the policy. Do you know if your policy covers abortion? 46% of them do (google it).

The SRM starting with politico has intentionally made this look like the RNC’s healthcare alternative to obama’s nightmare. It’s not.

Sure, if your goal is to guarantee a permanent Democrat super-majority, say "3rd Party" all you want. If that's not your goal, it might make more sense to fix the Republican party.

Where is the evidence that "fixing" the GOP is any less of a pipe dream?
