Darwinizing Everything

--snip--

The Darwinians, who took over biology in the 19th century, are still busily engaged in mythmaking, comforting the feebleminded who accept their explanations as wisdom, denouncing the heretics who call their bluff. They wear S on their chests: Science, the equivalent of Superman in intellectual circles. They are phonies. Bring out the kryptonite of critical analysis. It scares them to death, even though they never had special powers to begin with...

Better yet, let’s see if we can dupe people into believing that the complex, specified, super-sophisticated, digital DNA code was assembled by pond-scum plus lightening!

I believe that the complex, super-sophisticated, digital DNA code was assembled by the Mendellian geneticists and the Hippocratic Doctors ---- the same Satanic goons who claim HIV causes AIDS, that washing your hands frequently reduces your chances of catching the common cold, and that John Wilkes Booth shot Abe Lincoln.

==I believe

That's all darwood's evo-religious creation myth is, a belief about the unobservable, unrepeatable past. But hey, I have an idea. Let's pretend our belief is the same thing as science and label all challenges to our belief religion! Boy are we smart!!!

I’d rather have Hippocrates as my physician than Darwin given a choice.

I’d rather have Hippocrates as my physician than Darwin given a choice.

Fitting. He separated the discipline of medicine from religion, believing and arguing that disease was not a punishment inflicted by the gods but rather the product of environmental factors, diet, and living habits.

Simple solution: go conical. It would help if you were to move to the far North, or far South, though.

If the cartoons still didn't suit you for lookin' @, you could always use 'em for a hat... I hear it gets cold at the far ends.

BamaKennedy is using the ‘scientific methodology’ as part of his governing process. Time will tell how many still favor that system when Bama gets done with them.

Your posts remind me of a hundred monkeys typing on a hundred typewriters for a hundred hours. Only the monkeys make more sense ...

Aren't you being a bit schizoid? According to your belief if he reminds you of a hundred monkeys typing on a hundred typewriters for a hundred hours he should be making perfect sense. In fact he should be putting out literature that puts Shakespeare to utter shame.

Perhaps, but the monkeys put him to shame.

My experience has been somewhat different. I was in favor of ID being taught in schools as promoted by the Discovery Institute , but I didn’t pay much attention to the issue. As a lawyer, I was surprised at the Dover outcome and, for the first time, researched the legal side of Dover in detail. What I “discovered” was that the Discovery Institute was full of crap when it came to understanding the basic legal issues surrounding Dover. The DI’s articles after Dover reflected a complete misunderstanding of fundamental law. Since DI was way off base on something as simple as basic law, I questioned whether they had any credibility on something as complex as evolution. My research indicated that they did not have such credibility and I’m no longer in favor of “teaching the controversy.”

Do either of you think you will change the other’s mind?

These threads are getting to be like pro wrestling.

The Darwinians, who took over biology in the 19th century,

Darwin's theory of natural selection wasn't widely accepted science until well into the 20th century.

Perhaps, but the monkeys put him to shame.

Only in the mind of someone that could say "perhaps".
