A crowd that had to be several thousand strong came out to Borders bookstore on South Dale Mabry in Tampa this morning to meet and greet (quickly) conservative icon Glenn Beck.
The radio and cable television personality sandwiched Tampa in between two other Florida stops on Saturday. He began the day in Lee County, came (late) to Tampa, arriving at about 12:15 p.m., and then went to the Villages, where he made his much hyped announcement that he had been teasing his listeners and viewers about in recent days.
According to Orlando television station WOFL:
He also said he plans to start a country wide tour, dividing the nation into seven parts and conducting educational conventions. Beck says he will teach ethics, history, finance, community organizing and everything Americans need to know about how the government works.
At Tampas event, where the first person in line arrived at 6 a.m. for the 12 noon scheduled book signing, the crowd inside Borders erupted when he entered through the front door, accompanied by no less than half a dozen roadies wearing Arguing With Idiots Bookstore 2009 Tour jackets who cleared the entryway at the back of the store and set up his own podium, carried in by a dolly.
Virtually everyone in line had a copy of Arguing With Idiots, his latest NY Times best-seller.
IMG_0269Many in the crowd echoed the statements of a man who only wanted to be identified as Gary from Clearwater. He told CL that Becks outlook means, he says things that are other people are afraid to say. Gary said he liked Rush Limbaugh, Bill OReilly and Sean Hannity, but Beck goes a little farther, says a little more than even those guys ..theyre more traditional Republican conservative and hes a little, well, hes not like that.
Gary continued, I think he opens peoples eyes to things, gives people the ability to go do some investigation their own and learn some things that maybe they werent even aware of
I think hes helping people to go do some education on their own..
You’d better change the headline to “Almost a Hundred Come Out to Tampa to Greet Glenn Beck” otherwise nobody in the MSM will believe it.
>> He also said he plans to start a country wide tour, dividing the nation
What do you want to bet we see that out of context in a MSM quote?
~~PING!
He’s probably in a hurry to get this done before Arianna Huffington-Puffington gets someone to take away his free speech rights as she proposed.
Where’s the BIRTH CERTIFICATE, Glenn? Outing Van Jones & Anita Dunn was nice, but why do you still refuse to discuss that topic?
Thanks, Star, for posting this. I read your other thread, too. I pray for ol’ Glenn! Hope he has good security detail! I worry for his safety.
If the birth certificate is such an issue for YOU, then YOU do something about it.
Why the heck do YOU need him to take action, or are you another couch-potato crybaby who expects other people to fight YOUR battles?
IMO, if/when ObamaCare is poised to pass, the BC will come to the surface.
It’s the conservative ‘nuclear option’. There’s got to be one Reagan or Bush I appointee out there still on a Federal bench that gives a sh*t about this country.
Wouldn't he be singing to the choir? I would hope most conservatives already know this stuff and those we are fighting against don't care. Unless we are willing to do the type of community organizing the left does (civil disobedience)this won't do much.
I guess I'll wait to hear the full story from him.
if glen beck brings up ther birth certificate things would happen . what can anyone who has no way to get this out to millions the way glen can do?
you are very hateful.
Did any planted NUTS from ACORN show up to complain he didn’t sign their book?
Beck is the hardest working conservative in the country, and we should all feel blessed that he has helped energize so many people. If you want him to do everything, that is the absolute opposite of what his philosophy is. I pray for him that he continues to have the energy, the inspiration, the vision that he has. I feel like such a slug compared to such a person! We should all be his supporters, even if we have issues at times. No one “gets the word out” like Beck!
To expound on Glenn's Thursday TV show regarding the unsustainable National Debt ...
THIS is the White House OMB's National Debt projection for Mid-FY2010 (dollar amounts in BILLIONS):

No need to get so negative towards me about it, I am simply asking a question to a person who has a much louder voice than I do. Besides, just the fact that I am bringing up the subject means that I AM doing something about it.
South Dale Mabry is a straight shot down into the main gate at MacDill AFB!
You just activated my "Leftist Lingo Detect-o-meter!"
Take a deep breath and wake up to the fact that the BC issue will not ever do anything to remove zero from office. Think beyond the first step of getting a ruling from a Judge.
Ultimately, The House the Senate would would have to act to remove him in spite of anything a Federal Judge could do. The BC issue is a total dead end and GB probably understands that!
I’ll gladly sign up and bring both kids with me. That’s the main point. Give a refresher course to those that are already in the know and give the next generation an education they can’t (or won’t) get in the public schools.
And the people that attend and take notes can share their new-found knowledge with friends, neighbors, family, etc.
I like Beck’s idea.
Many people say “But I’m just one person. What can I do?” This is one of the things any ‘one person’ can do. Attend Beck’s educational convention and spread the word.
Thanks for the visual representation. If a person was told that they could have a trillion dollars only if they could carry it a mile and partial success didn’t count, I think it would take many years to move the money.
And let us all remember, the graphics were assuming $100 bills. Make it into $20 bills (what most of us carry around when we have pocket money) and the size is multiplied five-fold.
> Attend Becks educational convention and spread the word.
Yes, and if you look at the demographic trends, the
information needs to be spread to minority groups, who will
one day become majority groups.
