The Wilding of Sarah Palin
The American Thinker ^ | November 24, 2009 | Robin of Berkeley

When I was in college, I read a book that changed my life. It was Susan Brownmiller's tome, Against Our Will: Men, Women, and Rape, which explained rape as an act of power, not just lust. What I found particularly chilling was the chapter on war -- how rape is used to terrorize a population and destroy the enemy's spirit.

While edifying, the book magnified the vulnerability I already felt as a female. Fear of rape became a constant dread, and I sought a solution that would help shield me from danger.

The answer: seek safe harbor within the Democratic Party. I even became an activist for feminist causes, including violence against women. Liberalism would protect me from the big bad conservatives who wished me harm.

Actually, ordinary criminal rape may well be a crime of lust, but large-scale rape has always been used by enemies as a way to degrade and devastate another population. Look at the Japanese - the Rape of Nanking was literally that, with thousands of women and children raped and destroyed. And it has historically been so.

All cultures use rape to destroy the spirit of the enemy (that’s why men rape men before killing them in certain cultures). Eldridge Cleaver, in fact, wrote an entire screed about the “right” of blacks to rape white women as a way of taking revenge on white men.

Actually, the “money” quote I sent along with the article to my liberal “friends” was this:

“The spiritually barren must annihilate the vital and the fertile.”

This article is stuffed with insights that are absolutely right on track!

One observation that I liked, from personal experience, however, was this one:

Another red flag: while liberal men did indeed hold up those picket signs, they didn't do anything else to protect me. In fact, their social programs enabled bad behavior and bred chaos in urban America. And when I was accosted by thugs, those leftist men were missing in action.

That's why - well, one of the many reasons - that Obama is abandoning Afghan women to the Taliban again.

I just wish the awakening would not take so long.
... if I awoke this slowly, I'd get fired!

But Palin by default is beautiful so she must be trying to sell her looks by dressing up nicely. So the left will attack her for being hypocritcal.

They use this argument of Palin bringing out the kids. How dare she bring out her kids, forcing the left to attack her. It is Palin that is the bad mother, not us (the left) wingers who attack the kids

Obama was on the campaign trail and went up to a farm house a young boy asked him if he wanted to see his liberal puppies and obama complied. several days later Sara Palin came through and the boy asked her if she wanted to see his conservative puppies. a reporter that had been there for the earlier visit asked “Last week when Obama was here you said that they were liberal puppies, now they are conservative, why the change?” Sarah smiled and nodded as she replied “Dont’cha know this week they have their eyes open”

In another messagethread about this article, a messagethread which was pulled due to being a duplicate -- one freeper mentioned that the COMMENTS made to this article, at the original site, were almost more interesting than the article itself.

I can locate the article, I can locate the print version of same, but I don't seem able to find any comments to her article.

Is there any comment section??? If so, sorry, but can someone provide me a direct link?

Thanks.

Great, great column. The punctuation leaves something to be desired, but the content just sparkles.

Firstly, you should read the whole article. She is describing how the Democrats are symbolically “raping” Sarah Palin. I fear using words symbolically robs them of their meaning (”cultural genocide”), but she’s describing exactly what is going on: liberals have actually *literally* described fantasies about “hate-f***ing” her.

Secondly, lust and power aren’t separate. Lust isn’t merely horniness, otherwise masturbation would relieve it. It’s about the need to matter. When affection is absent, power and domination enter the void: the fantasy that porn provides isn’t about loving relationships; it’s about domination.

>> Is prostitution then, a crime of lust, or power? <<

Look at Elizabeth Hurley. Look at Desiree Brown. Draw your own conclusions about Hugh Grant.

This is a seminal work on Palin phobia. It answers perfectly the motivation for opposition to Palin.

The reason feminists refuse to recognize rape as a crime of lust is so they can continue to parrot the idea that Christian sexual morality is a bad thing. If feminists really want to stop rape, they would encoaurage men who hold Christian values when it comes to sex, but instead they demonize them. It makes no sense.

Glad you liked the post.

Robin is fast becoming a real asset for conservatism. She can explain things from a psychological perspective that many on the Right sense but cannot articulate as a professional in her field can.

Thanks for the heads up. The author, Robin of Berkeley, is a fave of mine and speaks from a unique perspective.

There's another excellent Palin piece at American Thinker this morning if you haven't seen it:

Sarah Palin and the low ebb of the cultural left
