He’ll end up like Doug Thompson from Capital Hill Blue. He went in the bag for the Democrats and ended up moving back home to the hills of ole Virginy where he spends his time on town council meetings and parroting the Roanoke paper. His art studio in Floyd Va went “tits up” a while back.

Charles, I know you’re frustrated because Andrew Sullivan won’t answer your love letters, but that’s no reason to libel us.
Dude’s spent the last several years lying likie a rug, daily. You don’t write a list that reads like an answer to “What would Keith Olbermann write about the Right if he was a fifteen year old pro-war girl” if you really were a conservative or even a moderate.
He needs religion and/or a CAT scan.

I used to be a regular there, but LGF has been irrelevant and creepy as hell for the last few years.

I wouldn’t even say he’s gay... I think he’s just a metrosexual navel-gazer. In love with his bicycle.
No clue as to Charles Johnsons’ sexuality-wouldn’t recognize him if he walked right up to me-but years ago, even when he was primarily a WOT site, his posts struck me as very “queeny”. I refer especially to the angry, fly off the handle posts he would make whenever someone dared criticize the layout or the “look” of his blog. Very emotional, very touchy, very ‘take-everything-as-a-personal-attack-y’ posts, to the point that I would consider normal in a middle aged woman, but was odd in a young(ish) man.Just very ‘queeny’, not just in the sense of (drama) queeny, but in the sense that his posts seemed very female or effeminate. Again, this doesn’t necessarily make him gay, but it DOES make him an a#&^%*e, IMO.

Wanted to replay to his post at the site,as I had never joined, but he closed registration. Must be worried about people coming in. I must say I think the opposite of who ever runs the place and years ago I parted ways with the left which has kept going downhill since. I’d always been a conservative and a truth seeker, but the hypocrisy on the left was too much so I completely abandoned them. No sense in arguing with them either.
When I came to that conclusion that was when I could no longer believe what State Run Media was telling me. The Good thing was Fox News came along, but even then I don’t agree all the time with them on certain issues.
This is sad but not surprising, as LGF has been increasingly hostile to the right for some time, which is why I stopped going there.
I don’t think Charles was ever really on the right anyway, he just took Islamic extremism seriously when no one on the left was. He used to document “bad craziness” from the Islamists and it was useful and important.
I thought he was maintaining a good balance in opposing the Islamists while avoiding making cause with the white supremacists who seemed to be the only opposition in Europe.
And I appreciated him speaking out against creationism even though that would annoy many of his readers. He’s right about evolution/creationism.
But at some point he just seemed to bait the creationists gleefully to watch their reaction, and to mock them. And more and more people got put in his racist/fascist category, sometimes for reasons that seemed flimsy, such as that they had spoken to someone already on his list. LGF became very confrontational and he banned people all the time, and spent many posts defending the bans.
The image of Obama as a witch doctor with a bone through his nose drove Charles off the deep end for several days, and people were banned because they didn’t find it as offensive as he did (I found it funny).
He was very upset about Van Jones being driven out, and defended him against the charges of being a “truther”.
I felt no longer welcome there when LGF had a long thread devoted to mocking Michelle Bachmann. She had given a speech about CO2 that posters felt was nonsense. It seemed unnecessarily mean to me.
I remember when Powerlineblog posted a brief note that they were no longer linking to LGF because it had gone in a different direction, Charles posted a long message lashing out at Powerline, who could not have been more gentle in how they explained what they had done. Charles was very hostile and said that Powerline supported fascists. It was over the top.
LGF became a site devoted to objecting to more and more people and ideas on the right. I looked in a few days ago and he was spending all his time defending the global warming side against the info in the leaked emails and documents.
So his list is just a rehash of what had become obvious to anyone paying attention for some time. Too bad.
But he’s still damn good with javascript.
