Grassfire email: "Healthcare Bill May Go Nuclear"
Grassfire Nation [alert@grassfire.net] ^ | Sat 12/5/2009 | Steve Elliott

Posted on 12/05/2009 6:42:26 AM PST by plsjr

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) is warning that the "nuclear option" is being considered by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to pass ObamaCare...

This means only 50 votes would be needed to pass a healthcare takeover bill that would tax Americans to the tune of $500 billion, while gutting Medicare $464 billion.

Grassley, and others believe the current plan on the table would lead to "rationed care, shuttered hospitals, overburdened doctors and waste."

No doubt feeling the pressure to punch ObamaCare through before Christmas, Reid is now demanding lawmakers work on Sunday...

Reid's quick-step signals a shift for Grassfire.

We can't wait to rally 750,000 citizen signers before hand- delivering your petitions to key Senate offices.

That's why we've literally started the countdown clock-- counting down to midnight Wednesday night as potentially the last opportunity for grassroots citizens to have their petition opposing ObamaCare hand-delivered before the vote!

674,346 citizens have already signed our petition-- meaning we are roughly 75,000 petitions shy of our three-quarters -of-a-million goal.

Earlier this week, we were more than 110,000 from our goal!

So your efforts are paying off.

But we need to do more. That's why I'm urging EVERY member of our team who has already signed our petition to forward this alert to 35-40 friends urging them to sign the petition and have it HAND-DELIVERED to their Senators starting next Thursday.

Go here now to sign:

http://www.grassfire.net/r.asp?u=23467&PID=22955334

Because of such an overwhelming amount of petitions, we had to give our special courier up to three days to deliver our petitions... But EVERY petition will be delivered---at a critical time when Reid and his cronies are using whatever trick they can to secure support for this horrifying bill...

Like Reid, Grassfire Nation has started our own countdown clock to midnight Wednesday.

Your efforts right now are critical to our success. We are depending on our amazing team to help us reach our goal to maximize our impact starting next week!

Thanks in advance for taking action.

Steve Elliott Grassfire Nation

P.S. We're doing all we can to rally critically needed extra support for our petition--including the launching of an actual countdown clock on Drudge!

FRiends,

What follows is my lead-in to the email above which I forwarded to my family & friends.

=== I am normally against passing along emails, but felt this was too important not to forward. It regards one of the two greatest internal threats to our nation: government takeover of healthcare (The other is giving citizenship to 12,000,000 -25,000,000 alien-criminals, aka anmesty).

The U.S. Senate may break their own rules and go against the will of the vast majority of U.S. Citizens to pass their health care bill.

Consider the fact that our representatives have been unwilling to read these bills before passage, much less allow the people they represent to do so. Then they continue changing the bills behind closed doors minutes before passage. If what they're doing is a good thing, we should be pleased when we read it. If it's not, we'll regret not having stopped it.

Why are they in such a hurry? Why are they making it up as they go along?

The House bill was almost 2000 pages, and has already been passed; the Senate bill is over 2000 pages. Compare this to the 8000 page U.S. Code, which the reconciled bill will modify.

The current bill includes our having to pay for the murder of unborn children, the healthcare of non-U.S. Citizens, and slashes funding for the already broken government-run Medicare. The cost will be Trillions more of OUR money. (They are also exempting themselves from their plans.)

The senseless nature of the rush to passage leads me to believe there's something more going on here, something that they don't want us to know.

Please consider forwarding your thoughts onward as well... ... and consider signing the petition at:

http://www.grassfire.net/r.asp?u=23467&PID=22955334 ===

Schumer said a long time ago that they would use the nuclear option to pass this. Not much doubt that it's coming.

How shall we rob thee. Let me count the ways...

This has been his plan since day one.They knew they’d never get 60 votes with a public option;the real vote was to start debate to get it to the floor.

Congressional Democrats are absolutely determined that, come what may, the United States will be converted to communism before the 2010 elections can inhibit their revolution.

I guess the silver lining is that if they change the rules to pass it, we’ll only need 50 votes to repeal it in 2010.

But to even bring the thing to a vote, they need 60 to end debate.

Agreed.

But their telegraphing in no way diminishes our responsibility NOT to bend over to take it saying “just enjoy it - it’s inevitable”.

Good luck with that. Once they give this massive freebee out to millions of "gimmees", it's there to stay.

The U.S. Senate may break their own rules

The Senate has plenary power to make its own rules, granted in Article I.

go against the will of the vast majority of U.S. Citizens

The way we ascertain the "will of the majority" (never mind the "vast majority") in a representative Republic is by the results of elections. All 435 Members of Congress were elected in 2008. Sixty-seven of the 100 Senators have been elected since 2006.

Polls don't, and shouldn't, govern the country.

There's no evidence - none whatsoever - based on elections that this Congress isn't doing EXACTLY what the People want them to do.

I hope the People are happy with their stupidity.

True, but if repeal is vetoed by the President (guaranteed), you need 290 votes in the House and 67 in the Senate to override.

THAT rule they can't change.

Just wondering about that “Comity” that McCain and Graham and others promised us regarding the Gang of 14, not that long ago. It seems to be forgotten now.

The U.S. Senate may break their own rules and go against the will of the vast majority of U.S. Citizens to pass their health care bill.......by using the nuclear option.

Any fool can plainly see that the endangered Dems are frantic----rushing to pass this abomination b/c they need to get money into the hands of ACORN, SEIU, immigrant groups, and others, BEFORE the Nov 2010 elections.

Remember that the first four years of ObamaCare is amassing $$billions. The healthcare does not kick in til 2013.

Even stupid Dems know that, for them, it's curtains in 2010---unless massive voter fraud takes place. They need to buy votes and must get billions into the hands of their operatives---ACORN, SEIU, immigrant groups, and others.

ObamaCareCost Could Top $6 Trillion
Cato Institute | 9/27/2009 | Michael F. Cannon
FR Posted on 11/29/2009 by GVnana

(Excerpt) Congressional Democrats are using several budget gimmicks to disguise the cost of their health care overhaul, claiming the House and Senate bills would cost only (!) about $1 trillion over 10 years. Now that critics have begun to correct for those budget gimmicks, supporters of ObamaCare are firing back.

One gimmick makes the new entitlement spending appear smaller by not opening the spigot until late in the official 10-year budget window (2010–2019). Correcting for that gimmick in the Senate version, Sen. Judd Gregg (R-NH) estimates, “When all this new spending occurs” — i.e., from 2014 through 2023 — “this bill will cost $2.5 trillion over that ten-year period.”

Another gimmick pushes much of the legislation’s costs off the federal budget and onto the private sector by requiring individuals and employers to purchase health insurance.

(A) When the bills force somebody to pay $10,000 to the government, the Congressional Budget Office treats that as a tax.

(B) When the government then hands that $10,000 to private insurers, the CBO counts that as government spending.

(C) But when the bills achieve the exact same outcome by forcing somebody to pay $10,000 directly to a private insurance company, it appears nowhere in the official CBO cost estimates — neither as federal revenues nor federal spending.

That’s a sharp departure from how the CBO treated similar mandates in the Clinton health plan. And it hides maybe 60 percent of the legislation’s total costs. When I correct for that gimmick, it brings total costs to roughly $2.5 trillion (i.e., $1 trillion/0.4).

Here’s where things get really ugly. TPMDC’s Brian Beutler calls “the” $2.5-trillion cost estimate a “doozy” of a “hysterical Republican whopper.” Not only is he incorrect ... Read more at cato-at-liberty.org ...

CALL CONGRESS TOLL FREE Capitol switchboard: 800-965-4701----800-828-0498------- 877-762-8762

Ask your Congressman/woman what he/she was offered (or received) in exchange for supporting ObamaCare.

Keep in mind that elected officials are held to a higher legal authority---what is acceptable behavior for citizens might be a crime for elected legislators under oath of office. Keep close watch on your Reps campaign contributions and if he/she election help from ACORN, SEIU or individuals connected to them.

The FBI should interrogate Congress to determine if anything of value was promised---money, jobs, political cover to facilitate the deception, and whether Congress is misusing the power of office.

Obama has a huge slush fund---80% of stim is unspent. June 9, 2009 Obama announced, "Several financial institutions are set to pay back $68B to taxpayers." Taxpayers assumed that would be returned to the general funds from whence it had come .......in order to pay down the debt. The truth, however, is that the money returned is finding new life as part of what amounts to a Treasury Dept-controlled slush fund.

THIS IS ILLEGAL Obama may be colluding to give something extra of value----campaign financing, district money, govt gratuities, jobs for relatives, etc----in exchange for healthcare votes. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) got $300 million for her vote.

POSSIBLE CHARGES
(official acts prohibited,
(misuse of office,
(abuse of public office,
(violating oath of office,
(misuse of government position,
(abuse of government power,
(conflict of interest;
(influence buying;
(conspiracy to deceive;
(misuse of elective office,
(collusion, conspiracy to collude.

Check your Reps official campaign finance records filed with the FEC, and state election commission, should be scrutinized for possible violations. Determine if names of contributors are legit and whether campaign funds were illegally used, and whether Reps received campaign contributions for votes.

L/E might consider: (a) conspiracy to defraud the IRS, and evade US banking laws, (b) money laundering, (c) conspiracy to commit money laundering, and, (d) aiding and abetting the preparation of false federal/state income tax returns, (e) collusion, (f) conspiracy to collude, (g) exchanging state benefits for kickbacks or other emoluments, (h) using the power of the state for election purposes.

Authorities might examine multiple conspiracies and transfers of funds as part of a money-laundering, kickback conspiracy. Government audits might show off-the-books bank accounts that were accessed solely by insiders, and that government-funds were used in various illegal schemes that might have integrated: (1) money laundering, (2) tax evasion (stolen money is taxable), (3) violations of US banking and currency laws, (4) conspiracy to commit wire fraud, (5) commercial bribery in various financial schemes, (6) establishing secret offshore bank accounts outside the purview of the IRS and US banking laws, (7) fraudulent and casual accounting practices, (8) non-existent financial oversight, (9) having a hidden financial interest in companies faking business with the company, (10) putting phantom employees on the payroll (money laundering).

There's a zillion ways to launder govt money. Stolen monies could have been disguised by re-routing monies through telephone lines with a maze of complex telecommunications' systems equipped with call-forwarding and voice mail systems, and numerous postal and commercial mail boxes..........and perhaps through money-transfer systems that operate in ethnic enclaves. Investigators may discover numerous falsified official documents.

Stolen monies could have been disguised by re-routing through a network of domestic and international bank accounts using counterfeit checks.....opening commercial bank accounts in the name of bogus businesses and wire-transferring and/or depositing gov't checks into those accounts.

Phony checks could have had invalid bank routing numbers, forged endorsements, or been drawn on the proceeds of other counterfeit checks deposited in other bank accounts. Before banks discovered the fraud, the funds might have been transferred out of the accounts……probably offshore----leaving banks unable to recoup their losses.

State and federal tax authorities could have been swindled through the use of tax-exempts (most legislators have these---they dub them "charities"). Methods may have included tax-exempt "charities" getting limited-recourse loans to artificially inflate "asset values," to fraudulently borrow real money based on “assets” that didn’t really exist.

ACTIONABLE OFFENSES MIGHT INCLUDE
(1) Encouraging the filing of false documents;
(2) Rigging legislation to benefit special interests;
(3) Forcing taxpayers to underwrite crimes against the state without their knowledge or consent (constitutes the crime of second degree coercion of taxpayers, and should be prosecuted at once);
(4) Not reporting crimes against the state (aiding and abetting).

==================================

ACTION Taxpayers demand WH audits and phone-logs, emails, and electronic transfers. POSSIBLE CRIMES Govt fraud, conspiracy, collusion to conspire, conspiracy to steal; theft of public property and official records, etc etc etc.

The Liberal Totalitarians have every intent to obtain their Ends by way of Force.

Application of this force in the Senate is an assumed n brainer for them. What should concern us is how far are they willing to go to obtain the fair redistribution they seek.
People “think” this is a move to Socialism when in fact its really a stealth play for Communism.

I do not believe we have the claws that this beast is yet ready to use to achieve their coveted ends
