The second leg of Quinnipiac's big national poll dropped this morning -- and it shows a serious erosion of support for Congressional health reform efforts and the president's performance on the issue -- along with an all-time low 46 percent approval rating for the POTUS.
Most ominously for Dems: Nearly two-thirds of registered voters polled said extending coverage to 30 million-plus people will result in a decline in the quality of their own health care. That gives plenty of room to the GOP to personalize attacks on the plan, Obama and Congress.
The lowlights for Dems:
--O approval/disapproval: 46/44 percent.
--Voters disapprove 52 38 percent of the health care reform proposal under consideration in Congress, and they disapprove 56 38 percent of President Obamas handling of health care, down from 53 41 percent in a November 19 survey.
--American voters say 63 30 percent that extending health insurance to all will raise their cost of health care, although they are split 47 46 percent on whether they are willing to pay more to make sure everyone is covered.
--Voters split 48 46 percent on whether they think covering everyone will decrease the quality of their own care, but by 71 21 percent they do not think universal coverage is worth lower quality of care.
Its a good thing for those pushing the health care overhaul in Congress that the American people dont get a vote. At this time, supporters are down 14 percentage points, said Peter Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.

Oh I know about all of that, except the woman that lost her head. That one I do need to read up on. Thanks.
Nearly two-thirds of registered voters polled said extending coverage to 30 million-plus people will result in a decline in the quality of their own health care. The administration and its congressional co-conspirators will try some sleight-of-hand, such as suddenly harping again on gun confiscation plans.
When was the last time an entitlement was dismantled at the Federal level?
What are they afraid of? What is really going on behind the scenes? Its very troubling.

Behind the scenes, the RAT party has been taken over by socialists and communists...now, it’s not so behind the scenes...and they’ve marketed well (until about a year ago..)
Resist! Resist! Resist! Be prepared to Resist!
38 percent is a landslide for a socialist. Plus most of that opposition is not from Democrat states. There is nothing that we can do unless the whole thing suddenly implodes. Even evidence of global warming lies and health care lies won’t sway the socialist Americans.
Whenever it “takes power”, the Republican Party never rolls back Democrat “progressive” programs. Richard M. Nixon in fact expanded and fully funded the Great Society even as Spiro T. Agnew “talked” conservative after a liberal record in MD. GWB dismantled few of his predecessor’s oppressive executive orders. The Republicans are like cowardly lions, and socialism wins by default.
That’s interesting. If Californians can change, anyone can! And I say that as a native Californian.
I hope you are right and the sleeping giant has awakened.
Great CS Lewis quote.
It was startling. We are all so afraid of offending that we don’t speak up. The elderly seem less afraid to be seen as foolish or offensive.
The Democrats know their staunch senior voters are dying off and they want to replace them with illegal aliens and minorities. They don’t care what the seniors want anymore. They are looking to solidify their power with the new “Americans” who will be voting in the decades to come.
The Republican party better clarify why it has the real answer to the people or we are done.
They are not getting their message out. They are not making their case clearly to the American people. They are continuing to let the Democrats define them. They are reactive not proactive. They continue to be old school in their methods and they let old pale men do all the talking for them.
We need more Republicans like Sarah Palin: young, vibrant, alive with Republican values and living them out in reality, optimistic and willing to think outside the box.
That’s exactly why we need Sarah Palin as President. I have NO doubt that she will roll back the commie/fascist DemocRat agenda. Right after she rolls OVER them.
Why do you think they hate and fear her so much.

I absolutely disagree with you. It’s the Democrats’ health care plan that is scoring 38% approval in polls. It’s the Democrats who got kicked in the teeth this past November not the Republicans. Obama has a dismal 46% approval in the polls, and the Repubs are leading the Dems by at least 4 points in the generic. Lastly, why are the Dems having so much trouble passing a health care reform bill in the Senate where they control a filibuster proof 60 seats? Answer: because the public knows the bill is unrealistic and completely unaffordable. And who do you think has been pushing back against this attempted liberal takeover of the greatest health care system in the world? Answer: Republicans, Independents and Libertarians. Old men, I hardly think John Thune, Michelle Bachman, Eric Cantor, Mike Pence, Paul Ryan, Jim Demint, Tom Coburn, etc... fit that description.
38 percent is a landslide for a socialist.

Even they have a capitulation point. The polls are converging downward. When Bush is almost as popular as bammy, well the liberals are about ready to GIVE UP...lol! This is when we need to re-double our efforts..! Is is 11/2010 yet?

The Republican party is going to have a very large component of the Tea Party (or perhaps the other way round.)
Things will be different this time, methinks. People are ENRAGED about what’s going on.
Well, all I can tell you is the senior citizens I heard ranting in line at the post office think both parties are full of crap and no good. I don’t think the Republicans have reached the minds and hearts of the people at all. I think the common sense of the people is simply telling them this is a horrible bill.
They oppose the bill, but not because they are following the leadership of Republicans.
But it appears they obviously agree with the Repubs’ complaints against the bill.
