800,000 Doses Of Kids' H1N1 Vaccine Recalled ATLANTA (CBS) ―
Health officials are recalling hundreds of thousands of doses of swine flu vaccine after tests indicated they may not be potent enough to protect against the virus.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention notified doctors about the recall Tuesday. The recall involves about 800,000 doses made by Sanofi Pasteur. The doses are pre-filled syringes intended for young children, ages 6 months to almost three years.
Health officials recommend children those ages get two doses, spaced about a month apart.
Health officials say it's not clear how many doses have already been given, but they don't think children need to be re-vaccinated. The lots passed potency tests when they were first shipped, but tests indicate the potency waned after.

And you've lost your bet. Never mind the reference to syringes within the article excerpt itself, Sanofi-Pasteur doesn't even sell an intranasal H1N1 vaccine in the United States.
Didn't prevent us from getting it but I suppose it might have lessened the severity (but a 103.8 temp is still pretty high).
Still knocking on wood here.
Curious, how much D did you take? Hope all are feeling better.
Yes, we are over it know but it took about a month for the coughs and fatigue to go away (exactly what the ER physician said would happen). Adults were on 2,000-4,000 IU/day; kids (7&8) on 500-1,000. May well have limited severity and we’re all still taking for other benefits I hope the third wave doesn’t materialize! Reinfection is a real possibility.
The school my two oldest kids are in sent home permission slips saying that they were going to be giving them out ‘free’ to everyone. I signed NO - NO - NO - NO to both of the ‘permission’ slips, and told both of them that under no terms is someone allowed to give them a shot. If someone tries, kick them, and run. Find a policeman and call me.
Sorry - mass hysteria is not necessary.
I did the same thing...except my kids are 6 and 9. The nine year old knew that under no circumstances was she to receive the vaccine. I told her if anyone shuffled her off to the nurse’s office, she was to state unequivocally that her mother did not sign the permission slip and should be contacted immediately. I didn’t trust that my first-grader would be so adamant so I walked him into school that day and told his teacher directly that under no circumstances was anybody to lay a finger on my child. She smiled and said she was on the same page as me. For the record, only one child in my 6 yr old’s class received the vaccine.
