Surprises Abound in Sarah Palin’s "Going Rogue"
PAjamas Media ^ | Dec. 31 | Clayton E. Cramer

Posted on 12/31/2009 9:20:53 AM PST by AJKauf

I picked up Going Rogue at Target a couple of weeks ago. It has a number of surprises, some pleasant, some just startling. It tends to confirm my belief that Sarah Palin, while perhaps not qualified to be president or vice president last year, was certainly more qualified than McCain, Obama, or Biden.

My biggest surprise was that Going Rogue was apparently not “ghostwritten.” In a few places, I noticed sentences with “I” instead of “me” for the direct object — a mistake that a professional writer wouldn’t make. There is also a bit more use of “I” (at least, properly used as the subject) than a professional writer might use, even in an autobiography. There are also quite a few places where her tangents in telling her story mark this as a first book; they don’t show the organization that I would expect from a professional. (Before you ask what I know about ghostwriting, I have ghostwritten part of a book by someone not as well known as Governor Palin. No, I can’t tell you for whom; that’s part of the contract.)

Another aspect of the book that surprised me is her portrayal of what went wrong with the McCain campaign. ...

I was surprised by the number of times I got emotionally “choked up” while reading the book. I reccomend it to everyone.

Well, THAT ought to send Bob J into a tirade

Utter horse$hit.

It makes one wonder what qualifications these people are looking for.

Thanks for posting this. I enjoy Clayton Cramer's blog and haven't been to it in a while so this served as a reminder.

As I am reading through the book, I am getting a real and very true sense of exactly who this Sarah Palin really is. I could care a less if the spelling or grammar is not perfect. The fact that I am actually transplanted into her world in my minds eye as I read her words tells me all I need to know about who I will be voting for in the near future.

Palin was and is far more “qualified” to be president than ‘bammy was or is.

“Qualified?” Only one qualification I need for a presidential candidate... principles, and Sarah has that in spades!

Too bad the ‘A’ team didn’t listen to the ‘B’ team.
We might have a bright woman as V.P. instead of “plugs”.

Yes, and to be fair, the author does add that proviso to the end of his statement.

But why bring up the nonsensical “qualifications” issue in the first place/

And why is he “surprised” that it wasn’t “ghostwritten”. Maybe because Sarah does not have a degree from an “elite” institution.

while perhaps not qualified to be president or vice president last year, ...

You have to be dumber than a box of rocks to read the constitution and determine that Sarah Palin is or was "not qualified" to be president or vice president of the USA!

Article II Section 1
No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States.

Barack Hussein Obama on the other hand has stated he had a Kenyan father whereas he is not a natural born citizen, therefore "not qualified!"

It is a shame we do not attract more "qualified" people to run for office, but who wants to go through that rigorous "vetting" process..../sar

The media and others keep repeating Sarah is not qualified, a joke, dumb, and dangerous yet fail each and every time to give factual examples. Why is that?

I read her book and I failed to see anything that showed me she wasnt qualified. The impression I got from the book only confirmed my suspicion. McCain and or his people purposly threw the election.

I believe I heard she had some assistance with it. Perhaps they were just inexperienced or the publisher had some of their "crack talent" proof read it.

I would also prefer someone who is a bit more of an intellectual.

Personally, I have never understood this mass obsession with intellectualism as a "qualification" for the Presidency. Most intellectuals I know are book smart but street stupid.

And quite frankly, the reason the U.S. is in the shape that it is is because of the overwhelming number of Ivy League "intellectuals" who comprise the government's senior administrative management network. They can quote complex data and figures off the top of their heads and write dense policy papers, but do not have enough sense to "walk the road," much less run a business or other "dirty hands" organization.

She is a true believer in our nation. She understands what built it, and made it great. She also understands the fundamental importance of a limited government which is accountable to the people.

She is a big picture thinker like Reagan. I would feel good about our nation's future again if we can get her (or someone very similar) in the White House.

The opposition to her will be intense and vile. Large numbers of people are benefiting from the current system and are getting their cut.

Going Rogue was ghost written by Christian writer Lynn Vincent. It’s no big deal but it’s the fact of it.
