Glenn Beck on birther issue: 'Dumbest thing I've ever heard'
World Net Daily ^ | 01/04/2009 | Drew Zahn

Posted on 01/05/2010 1:52:27 PM PST by autumnraine

On the air today, popular radio host Glenn Beck mocked "birthers" and claimed there is a concerted campaign to get those questioning Barack Obama's constitutional eligibility onto the airwaves – a strategy Beck said would actually benefit Obama.

"There's always games being played behind the scenes at a talk radio show," Beck said. "Rush has always called them seminar callers. But instead of being coy with the seminar callers or with you, I'm just going to expose the game that is going on. Today there is a concerted effort on all radio stations to get birthers on the air."

"I have to tell you, are you working for the Barack Obama administration?" Beck scoffed. "I mean, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard."

The ongoing dialogue then spun off into ridicule as Beck caricatured those who question the sitting president's eligibility with straw-man arguments reminiscent of jibes made by Obama's apologists in other news outlets.

Beck defined birthers as people who believe Obama was born in Kenya or other foreign country, was raised as a Manchurian candidate and somehow brainwashed Hillary Clinton into not exposing his fraud. According to Beck's running joke, birthers believe someone – maybe Obama's KGB "control" – preemptively placed Obama's birth announcement in 1961 Hawaiian newspapers with a "roadmap" of getting an African man into office.

As for Obama producing a long-form birth certificate to actually prove his place of birth, Beck questioned, "Why do that when these people ['birthers'] are so discrediting themselves?"

Get the must-wear clothing item for 2010! "Where's the birth certificate" T-shirt!

The radio host further argued that by distracting the public from actionable issues, "birthers" have become "a dream come true" for Obama, an ideal situation akin to the fantasies of adolescent boys after Hollywood bombshells.

More good reading material for Glenn and his staff. You should send your post to him. Maybe he will take more calls from the Birthers (this time listening to them rather than shouting them down) and start practicing what he preaches about upholding the Constitution.

If the grandparents want to ensure that Barry has full citizenship privileges without any undue hassle, they simply report the birth after the fact in accordance with Hawaii law, then the paper picks it up on its routine scan and prints the announcement. No conspiracy necessary, other than the grandparents wanted their grandchild to have American citizenship.

Even if he were born in Kenya, as the child of a US citizen mother, he was entitled to naturalized citizenship under the immigration laws at the time. All his mom would have to do is fill out an application and show proof of her maternity and US citizenship. See my profile for the relevant citations of the law in effect at the time.

Now why would his grandparents risk a felony purjury conviction and fake his birth, when his mom could easily obtain US citizenship for him through perfectly legal means?

It’s foolish to think that Zero was born in Kenya ... that dog don’t hunt, and it gives him ammo to paint his opponents as kooks. But the question remains: what the hell is he hiding? I still believe it has to do with his paternity ... the name ‘Frank Marshall Davis’ keeps coming up.

It would be better, from his point of view, to be FMD's love child than to not be a Natural Born Citizen. Which, if BHO Sr is his father as he claims, he is not.

"What does the Constitution say about removing a usurper who was born a British subject?

If one of the birther cases ever does make it to the Supreme Court, you can bet they'll make noises about separation of powers, shake a stick at Article II, Section 4, and toss the hot potato over to Congress. No way will they take it upon themselves to remove a sitting president"

---------------------------------------

Who said anything about SCOTUS (or any other court) "removing" him? I mean, how would they do that anyway?

You were saying ...

Watching the legal process takes patience, but that is our best chance at peaceful resolution.

No, actually the much better solution to the problem of the birth certificate is very much easier and simpler than the process that has been pursued so far -- and I would bet a whole lot quicker than what we've seen thus far.

It's to get several states to enact a law in their state which mandates that a candidate must produce his birth certificate or else he cannot be on the ballot in that state.

All that is needed is several states to do that and it would knock Obama out of the Presidency if he tried running again. He might not with that kind of state law in effect in several states.

It's a good solution to the problem that there is no legal requirement for a candidate to show his birth certificate.

Last year, several states did put it through their legislatures. I know that the one in Oklahoma failed in the House and now we're coming around to another session of the legislature, here, pretty soon. So, it can be pursued once again.

That seems a whole lot more effective and quicker if everyone would get behind it in their respective states. All it takes is just a handful of states to successfully pass this law and it would "do in" Obama, in short order.

Although it doesn't matter if he was born in Kenya, or Timbuktu, there would be no need to "fake" the birth announcement. Those are generated automatically from a list put out by the state, when the birth cerficates are filed. However, one need not be born in a Hospital to have a birth certificate filed. A "home birth" can be filed, same form, with no doctor's signature, no hospital registrar's either. Just some "witness" and someone, usually a parent, to provide the information. The information could have been provided by telegram, or transoceanic phone call, from Kenya, Canada, or anywhere else. Then the mother's signature could be faked, and the "witness" would sign and submit the form in Hawaii.

There is no evidence to support that notion other than a questionable Kenyan BC, but other than a photoshopped image of a purported COLB, there is no evidence of birth in Hawaii either. There are conflicting accounts of what hospital he was born in and there are also news stories from 2004 when he was elected Senator, indicating birth in Kenya. So the evidence is mixed, either way. (I personally suspect he wasn't born in Kenya, or Hawaii, since I find his mother showing up in Seattle so soon after his birth, when she could have re-enrolled in Uof Hawaii rather than U of Washington, and only to return to Hawaii as soon as BHO Sr left. Very suspicious timing that was.

Check out this poll on Glenn by WND

Well, that settles it!

Or perhaps birthers are the only ones willing to give WingNut Daily their email addresses required to participate in the poll.

Hear, hear! This is the best solution as it is state-driven and clearly logical. If the fed-level politicians and parties won't police themselves then the states need to put an immediate end to their unconstitutional nonsense.

Great post.

“Now why would his grandparents risk a felony purjury conviction and fake his birth, when his mom could easily obtain US citizenship for him through perfectly legal means?”

BECAUSE HE'S EVIL! A socialist, Marxist, communist, third world Muslim environmental extremist who eats puppies and will destroy the entire country by next Tuesday! Who can even fathom what insidious evil-for-evil's sake the family of such a man is capable of? They probably used copies of the Constitution as toilet paper.

Remember, we've seen the proof of his non-citizenship in our own minds.

Yes the birth issue has to do with something other than where he was born. He was either born in Hawaii or someone from the future went back in time and placed a birth announcement in the paper.

those are not "placed" they are based on lists issued by the State Vital Records office, based on birth certificate filings. Those do not need to come from a hospital, although that is the ususal path.

Some newspapers still do that, although in some cases based on lists supplied by the hospitals rather than the state, but either way it now requires parental permission, but it didn't in '61.

Thanks... I’ve suggested it many times since the election and also have worked with my own state legislature (as a normal citizen, of course...) — but it’s not a solution that many of the so-called “birthers” really like, as they have told me over the many previous months... [just to let you know...]

But, I sure do wish that all those who are so insistent on this issue, would put all their efforts into this one solution and see it through, then we would be getting something done.

By the way, that states that I know initially put that legislation through were Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri... (there might have been one or two others, but I can’t remember now).

I’m just so amazed, actually, at how little effort has been put into this kind of strategy to get this taken care of, by what I’ve seen from posters here on Free Republic.. and I don’t know why so many are so resistant to the idea...

Why would he go out of his way to ridicule birthers who probably make up a sizable portion of his audience? Sounds like a really bad move to me.

Depends on where he goes from here. He'll most likely just drop the issue... OTOH maybe he's just fishing for "response" that will cause him to "look into the facts" so as to put the issue to bed... knowning full well already exactly what those facts are, or at least having a strong suspicion.

Now..., now..., I do like WingNut Daily, uummm..., I mean WorldNetDaily.... but you're right, polls on the Internet are self-selecting and knowing how the Obama Derangement Syndrome crowd is here, I know they would walk through fire and burning lava, for this issue -- so giving an e-mail address is nothing... LOL...

The new Donofrio/Pidgeon/Chrysler Dealers case has been filed. The Quo Warranto case long proclaimed the only path to presidential removal by Donofrio is to be filed soon.

This case will get nowhere.

The Taitz cases are progressing.

Taitz has been laughed out of ever courtroom she's stepped into.

The Kerchner/Apuzzo case is comprehensive. It is wending through courts of appeal.

Where it will be soundly dismissed.

Watching the legal process takes patience, but that is our best chance at peaceful resolution.

I'll say it now. Obama will prevail over every eligibility lawsuit that comes his way. None of these cases will have any success in the courtroom. Anyone who thinks that Obama is going to be frog-marched out of the White House over his eligibility is delusional and living in fantasyland. It's never going to happen. Never.

how little effort has been put into this kind of strategy

It is very difficult and time cosuming to do things from state to state so it often just doesn't happen. One of the reasons I like your idea is the timing. It is becoming obvious to just about everyone that the fed infrastructure - both the govt and the national parties - is corrupt and out of control. So support for state-focused efforts will start to catch on I think.

Laws can be passed much faster at that level so that if a handful of states with sizable voting populations make it necessary to show the documents or lose the whole race then the problem will be solved for the future.

Even though I am for forcing 0bama to pony up his credentials I doubt it will happen at least until reelection time and maybe not then unless your plan takes effect.

Thanks for your great work! Good luck in the future.

That MUSLIM appears as his religion on the birth certificate? Or so I've heard.

There is no religion listed on Hawaiian birth certificates of the period, or since. There is a birthplace of the parents and their race. No race for the child though.

he should know since he has the original birth certificate in his possession.

I doubt that. The state only provided copies to the parents, keeping the original in their files.

Furthermore his apologists and handlers cite the Factcheck birth certification document as accurate and that document shows that he is indeed the son of Barack Obama Senior -- all of which, according to the evidence put forward by their side, proves beyond a doubt that Obama, son of a foreign Kenyan national, is not a natural born citizen and is thus a usurper in the Oval Office.

They just claim that NBC means "born in the US", regardless of parent's citizenship status. They are wrong, but as long as courts deny standing on the issue, they'lll get away with it.

Respectfully, I'm sorry but WND started out as a reputable conservative news outlet. Over time, sadly, they've morphed into some right-wing version of Weekly World News minus their own Batboy and relying on the "we read it somewhere on the internet" method of reporting.

It's a shame, really, IMHO.

Having a Kenyan in the office won’t destroy our country; dismantling the Constitution will.

Having a Kenyan, or any other person not a Natural Born US citizen, *is* dismantling the Constitution.

If he were legally proven to not be an NBC, he'd be out of there, and would a lot of trouble dismantling the Constitution from Gitmo North in western Illinois. Or even from one of the usual Club Fed facilities.

But you know that there are a signifgent number of people, who support those dismantling activities. Combine them with ACORN's vote counters, and it becomes someone difficult to put out those flames. But if you remove the guy pouring on the gasoline, excuse me, ethanol, then putting them out becomes much easier.
