A Stability Police Force for the United States: RAND CORP CALLS FOR NATIONAL POLICE FORCE???
RAND COPORATION ^ | 2009 | By: Terrence K. Kelly, Seth G. Jones, James E. Barnett, Keith Crane, Robert C. Davis, Carl Jensen

I know someone who purchased this from RAND.

By page 19 this report goes from discussing the need for a Special Police Force overseas to supplement interventions, to suddenly needing a force that can circumvent Posse Comitatus.

Posse Comitatus exists for a reason and any attempt to circumvent it, not matter how nicely packaged, is a step on the way to "Special" police becoming "Secret" police.

They call it :A STABILITY POLICE FORCE: This study asks several questions. First, is a Stability Police Force (SPF) necessary? An SPF is a high-end police force that engages in a range of tasks such as crowd and riot control, special weapons and tactics (SWAT), and investigations of organized criminal groups. In its ability to operate in stability operations, it is similar to such European forces as the Italian Carabinieri and French Gendarmerie. Its focus on highend tasks makes it fundamentally different from UN or other civilian police, who deal with more routine law and order functions. It is also different from most military forces, which are generally not trained and experienced to conduct policing tasks in a civilian environment. Second, if an SPF is necessary, what should it look like? This includes considering such issues as: its objectives, tasks, and size; its speed of deployment; its institutional capabilities; where it should be headquartered in the U.S. government and how it should be staffed (standing force, reserve force, and hybrid force); and its cost.

Couple this with the EO establishing the “Council of Governors” and I am beginning to wonder about the situation.

You mean that some conspiracy nuts may have been right all along?

Bad idea.
It's a gift to the totalitarians.
Membership lists are.

Can't anybody look around any more and learn from the current experts, terrorists and "progressives" (ACORN, Black Panthers, muslims, Direct Action, Animal activists...)

It happened in eastern Europe.

The old Communist apparatus is still there, they just changed colors. Think Russia's Putin KGB regime. In addition, when the Russian army refused to follow up on a tank blasting the Parliament, it became a de facto that Yelsin had won.

IOW, it can happen if the military doesn't interfere. That's a stamp of approval of one side. This is why 0b0z0 wants a SPF stronger than the military.

What are rioters going to do when they’re confronted by tanks, IFVs, and and helicopter gunships manned by folks perfectly willing to kill them?

A particularly dark (pardon the expression) way to view things.

I have way more confidence in the common sense and love of freedom of our American Armed Forces.

Discussed multiple times already. See here and here for two examples.

...police funding is generally the last thing to suffer.

It's been my experience that police, fire-protection and garbage-collection are the first to suffer, used as clubs to bludgeon the populace into accepting tax hikes.

We’re not talking the US Armed Forces. We’re talking the “Stability Police Force” aka. the NatPo.

Tanks, IFVs, and and helicopter gunships all have soft pink centers that have to get out, eat, sleep and take a leak now and again.

The Spirit of 11/10/1775 will return with this group of oath keepers as we re-defeat the Tories.

Excellent post!
Thank you for that keeper.

I am printing it in its entirely and posting it where I can see it most of my waking hours.

As a reminder of what is at stake.

A definite keeper!

>>>>Oathkeepers sounds like a good place for the Leftists to get a list of the first to eliminate/imprison.

>>Yes, better to keep your head down, say nothing, and “go along to get along.”

>>That’s how the USSR survived for 75 years.

There is a really good quote out there from a former Soviet about hearing the secret police coming for others in the night, and wishing he’d gone after them with farm implements, anything, that it would have come to an end a lot sooner.

From that vague description, can anyone come up with the real quote? I’ve looked and not found it.

"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward."

Solzhenitsyn said it...

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? . . .”

We are sufficient for the Day, folks.

Don’t give in to fear; that’s what THEY want, and it’s why stuff like this gets intentionally leaked out. Psyops to the max.

Instead of freaking out and jumping to conclusions, prepare, train, and get your minds right.

This isn’t free; it NEVER was. Every once in a while, the Bill comes due for one generation or another. If this is our turn, so what? Everybody dies, ultimately. It’s what you die FOR that counts. And what you do while you LIVE to ensure that your children DON’T have to pay the butcher’ss bill...which they may have to do anyway, regardless of our actions.

This ideal, this amazing 230-odd year experiment in Human freedom and liberty is worth preserving by any means necessary; there’s nowhere left to go after America.

And yes, I saw the “What are rioters going to do when they’re confronted by tanks, IFVs, and and helicopter gunships manned by folks perfectly willing to kill them?”

Rioters? Nothing.

Prepared, determined folks with well-thought-out tactics, based on a little current historical research; a lot. Those vehicles all have weaknesses. Find the weaknesses NOW, while the “war” is still “cold”.

“I was BORN an AMERICAN, I shall LIVE as an AMERICAN, and I shall DIE as an AMERICAN, and I intend to perform the duties incumbent upon me in that character to the end of my career.”
