The burning question after the Massachusetts Senate election is whether the administration responds by making a course correction to survive politically by jettisoning its policy core and cleaning up its methods, or 'doubles down,' as President Obama has implied, and escalates the ideological and guerrilla war for direction of public policy. This was a referendum on the Obama administration, including health care, not just on health care.

He’s NEVER going to leave.....NEVER!
I PRAY you are right.
Pelosi become VP only upon nomination by President Biden and approval by the senate. The speaker of the house is NOT an automatic promotion.
Just pointing out she’s 3rd in line. A heart warming thought.
I would love to see him resign after the November election with a new Republican Congress, including a new Republican Speaker of the House.
>> We will survive Dumb0, and we will be stronger for it.
I like your attitude. Ronald Reagan would have a similar view if he were still among us.
.......Mr. Obama must have noticed that the science and the politics were wrong, and that the arithmetic was too......
A fence post has no science and can’t cipher
In a parliamentary system he would get a no-confidence vote and step down, but not here.
“It would not surprise me if he resigns in a hissy fit of hubris.”
That will never happen!
“You’re kiddin’ yourself if you think a power hungry personality disorder like this would willingly step down from the most powerful office in the world.”
With respect, I truly hope you’re wrong; come November 2012, we’ll know the answer.
Listen to his speech yesterday...see any signs of his backing off anything. NO. I loved this comment, no it is not about me, then I, I, I, I, I in front of every sentence except that one. Now he says he is doing it for the people. Obviously a case of misused prepositions, he meant TO the people.
He is a insane as Hitler, as narcissist as Henry XIII, and as deadly as Stalin or Mao, take your pick.
“I absolutely shudder at the thought of: President Biden”
Are you kidding, what could be worse...? oh... no...
Neither one would be eligible because Biden was chosen by Obama and elected as part of a team, and Pelosi was the one responsible for certifying the qualifications of Obama as eligible. That would leave Senator Byrd as next in line and after him is Hillary. Now you may start to shudder, but even Hillary is questionable considering she was chosen by Obama.
I dunno. Say what you will about Biden, but he’s not a Marxist or a Muslim (which I think Obama is). He would be a bumbler, but not a subversive one. We would survive.
He will not resign. However, there will be a tipping point where he starts blatently playing the race card. And that will be that. Even the MSM will desert him at that point (except for a few diehards). He does not have the skills or smarts of Bill Clinton (which is something Clinton was trying to tell everybody). Right now he is on the fast track to be a one termer.
IMHO the numbers are likely to be HUGE. This is not because many people, like myself, like him or want him to succeed; indeed, the opposite is the case. Rather, I am fascinated to see how he responds to the massive electoral defeats he's suffered in in VA, MA, and NJ elections and what steps he's going to take to deal with those defeats. I suspect he's going to double down and keep pushing. I also wonder if he'll be able to keep on demonstrating the faux eleoquence that he's been so good at in the past. Beause of all that, I don't think the SOTU numbers will prove much of anything other than how much people want to see what he has to say.

I don’t exactly know. But sumbody’s got planz...somehwere...
Probably, but not absolutely, definitely so. This is why I intend to watch the SOTU. If he's at all like Clinton, he'll begin to triangulate. However, I doubt that he's enough of a politician to be able psychologically to. I suspect he'll double down and put the pedal to the metal.
Is it just me, or did I hear Obowmao start to use his Negro dialect again? I think he’s going to use increasingly his brown sound as a “populist” ploy, and I fear it will lead to race riots.
