Mindi Davidson was "quite nervous" at the thought of meeting Sarah Palin on Friday night, but she wasn't daunted long.
"Once you start talking to her, it's like talking to someone that you've known forever," Davidson said.
Sharing the head table at the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce annual meeting, Davidson found she has a lot in common with Palin, despite her being a national Republican icon, former Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential candidate.
Before Palin took command of the packed Salina Bicentennial Center arena -- with about 6,000 in attendance -- she engaged in "mainly just family" talk with Davidson, the marketing officer and human resources administrator at First Bank Kansas in Salina. She was at the head table with her husband, Todd Davidson, an attorney with Hampton and Royce law offices in Salina. Todd is chairman-elect of the chamber board.

my thoughts exactly... i had an image of when Bush was reading to the kids the morning of 911...
That was my first thought, too.
A little speculation here. Palin was talking about kids and I wonder if this gave her the idea to jot down notes on her hand like kids do sometimes. I thought that was brilliant! If any liberal would have done that the media would be praising them to high heaven and saying how smart they were.
It's so funny how the immature liberals and liberal media try to portray Palin. Just like they try to portray any republican which threatens them by intoning they are stupid. It's completely asinine. It's like these liberals have the maturity level of a 13 year old girl who's jealous of another girl.
I was wondering if anybody pointed out that it was quite possibly Piper who wrote “HI MOM” in Sarah’s palm...someone pointed that out to me in an email yesterday...not sure if I’m way behind in the chat on this subject or way ahead, but that makes it 5 times as cute if it was her.
Any news here?
I don’t get why she wrote anything on her hand instead of say a note card or paper, but who cares? It’s not like the event was the SATs or something where she’s smuggling in answers and cheating. It’s not like it was a “no notes allowed” deal.
And what she did have wasn’t exactly overwhelming. Budget(crossed out), Taxes, Energy, Lift America’s Spirits. Not exactly a font of information there. Wow, energy, she’s really cheating there. That one word provided such an unfair advantage. I wouldn’t have cared if she had 100 pages written down and read from them.
She was probably in a rush or something and didn’t have anything available at the time so she just jotted something down on her hand. Really, who cares?
These are the same liberal writers that took that lovely scene of Piper licking her hand and wetting down Trig’s hair making it to a headline something like “Piper wipes spit on Trig.” and even worse if you read the youtube comments on that same video clip.
Is that a ‘No’ ?
Concerning the MSMedia’s hate filled-obsession with Ms. Palin, I defer to the wonderful Yul Brenner in the movie “The Ten Commandments”:
“Let them rave on that men shall know them mad....”
“I don’t get why she wrote anything on her hand instead of say a note card or paper, but who cares?”
I haven’t followed this story that closely but writing on one’s hand is something a child would do.. which may be what the press is attempting to imply.
Perhaps they were written by a child (think she had been with a group of children before the speech) or she may have written them while talking/reading to them.
Has anyone revealed what was written, haven’t seen it?
(((PING)))
Energy
Tax
Lift America's Spirit
That's all. No cheat sheet. No answers to questions she was going to be asked. Just simple talking points she wanted to remember to cover. Its what they teach you to do in public speaking classes, except normally it's index cards. If she wants to write them on her palm, then who cares? Except maybe her Mom who will lecture he about ink poisoning.
Exactly, who cares? Somebody cares. Just who is it that cares.
Would the same people have a similar concern if Sarah Palin had arrived with the latest most sophisticated electronic teleprompter? Would they ask who wrote what and why on the teleprompter?
Methinks they doth protest too much.
