Thanks for posting that picture. I’m typing through the tears. Thanks.

Apathy is no remedy for suicide - it’s a catalyst.

Waste of money.
Those who want to kill themselves will find a way.
Yup, it will become a frat dare/bet, and numerous jumps will be put on you tube. I remember one morning at work I saw a young man on a streetcorner in his underwear holding up a sign asking people to spank his butt, it was very cold that morning too. I walked passed and said “lost a bet?”, and he nodded yes.
If San Francisco or California taxpayers want a net, let them have it. But please, don’t make me, a North Carolinian, help pay.
How many ways are used to commit suicide? Maybe a few per year off the GG bridge, a few tens of thousands by various other means.
>>Unless, its your sibling, your child, your parent, your cousin, your friend, ...<<
So you propose gummint should stand between these people and their decisions? How about alcohol use? That can lead to death and is a slow suicide on purpose for some. Same for drugs. Nanny Gummint is the answer?
As I said, in the same way a person can refuse help for any affliction, the decision to end it is between him/her self and his/her God. To suggest you (much less the gummint) have any moral authority over that decision is arrogance at its utmost.
>>Apathy is no remedy for suicide - its a catalyst.<<
I am not saying to turn your back on someone who is suicidal. You are conflating the legal argument I am providing with am ethical obligation to help anyone in trouble (and a suicidal person is indeed in trouble).
But, in the end, it is between the person, their conscience and their God or god(s).
Amazing that it took the stress that long.

Is there a possibility you misunderstood what I posted?
There should be an observation deck near the suicide nets so that other people can point and laugh.
Easy there. I was just supplying a comparison, not really making it about you, personally. In fact, if you read the entire comment, you should have figured out I was speaking tongue-in-cheek.
Dang implicit “/sarcasm” tag — I always seem to miss it. :)
I guess I reacted because I have had people say EXACTLY what you said, almost word for word, no sarcasm about it.
Oh well, bygones and all that...
I wonder why we don’t hear stories about folks jumping off the Mackinac Bridge.
Not complaining, just wondering.
Because for several months they don’t splash, they splat.
*snicker*
Nice...
